I think maybe why the sales havent dropped so drastically is BECAUSE of the lack of promotion? Because the single came out and those who hadn't bought it yet saw that people were buying this cd, and they were possibly not aware of the content or that it was even coming out so then they bought it?
like instead of having EVERYONE buy it in the first day, then it spreads out a bit more.
(imagine how much she would have sold if they had promoted this heavily)

The more I listen to it the more I find its a powerful single; it deserves to do really well.

AyuGAME 15th July 2010 05:23 PM

yay...hopefully tomorrow sales will be more stable...

AyumiAi 15th July 2010 05:45 PM

hopefully tomorros sales stay above 10,000 that way she will at least get a good 70,000+ sales first week and in total around 100,000 lets hope!

waterballoon 15th July 2010 05:57 PM

well it was scary but she managed to be #1 for 2 days... hopefully a #1 weekly is possible so her streak can be maintained until at least the 50th single~

gallowsCalibrator 15th July 2010 06:48 PM

Yesss~ I hope Ayu can break the record~!!!! <33

That's a neat way of thinking about it. As a matter of fact, a friend of mine text me yesterday telling me that Ayu had a single out (and I was like, haha I'm sooo ahead of you this time I knew about this the day it was announced! XD) so it could be possible that since people are aware of it now and haven't heard anything about it previously they're curious enough to just go buy it.

I love these sales a lot.
Now I feel bad for doubting them. I'm wondering it it wouldve been more heavily promoted how would the sales be
But its a lovely single imo and deserves to sell well like this. As good as sunrise ^___^

rakeru 15th July 2010 07:11 PM

I hope that explanation is enough to get it past 100k eventually, though. >.<

adantatu2 15th July 2010 07:50 PM

^Me too, i'm gonna be so happy if she sells more than 100k
And i hope she can get a new record!!

njanjayrp 15th July 2010 08:11 PM

The drop is as big as I thought it would be. But she won't have troubles selling near 70k.

Mm yeah cause all together it's still a fraction of what other hits have been.

Only for comparison, Aoyama Thelma's Soba ni iru ne through different digital formats sold 8.7 million, GreeeeN's Kiseki just in Chaku uta full sold 2.3 million, and Flavor of Life 7.7 million all together... I was kind of hoping Sunrise was not on par but at least sort of up there, like at least at a million in Chaku uta full.

But what I don't get is how she has all of these accomplishments in Chaku uta, like #3 best selling artist of the year or something like that? I'm guessing a big part of her songs including album tracks sell a decent, moderate amount and all together they're a success in collective sales...?

I hope she can sell well digitally too with this single.

Well, those are definite hit artists. But that doesn't always mean that much. Aoyama Thelma failed and failed hard after Soba ni Iru ne. The other two are very popular, yeah, but the reason Ayu still does better is because of catalog sales. She has SO many different songs available and people will constantly pick them up. Even if they don't appear on the chart they will constantly be brewing under there, slowly selling. And that adds up ; P

bluegie 15th July 2010 10:08 PM

Did Soba ni iru ne sold over 8.7 million digitally? I'm kinda surprised about that because I didn't see that news (as it would be a big news since she broke hikki's FOL record).

Anywayz, M/b sales is doing good :D. Hopefully it can break 70K at least on the first week :D.

Good sales! Sure, they are lower than normal for her but we have to be realistic! I'm satisfied so far.

Eh, really?

Anyway, it's best to ignore the novice trolls. (This is not referring to ストロボ・EdGE... apparently it came across that way.)

^O.O osnap

roanmy 16th July 2010 12:33 AM

Her sales ARE going down on a constant curve, so he/she IS right to say that. Though I think it would be wise to wait until the first week is over to do it, probably. I hope she stays at or above 10K tomorrow, bu realistically I'm expecting 8-9K.
