WOWOWOW. This was so fast!!

But honestly I'm excited. They're gorgeous together. And Ayu is 32 now, it's about time she found someone to make her happy!

BUT.

A thought occurred to me. This likely won't happen but the scenario is funny. If she takes his name, she'll be Ayumi Schwarz. xDDD That's too much. It's sounds so bizarre.

Really though I hope all goes well for them. I'm also worried about her career as she has to remain in Japan for a huge chunk of it, so running off to the US all the time won't be easy. Will she be able to do both at once? I hope so..

ownsarai 1st January 2011 06:58 AM

@Chibi~ wow, that's awesome. xD She's like *walks in* MAX...Mannie and I are getting married, you have 1 month before I announce it. Deal with it. *walks out*
@Sirea~ as of now he lives in Los Angeles, CA...so it won't be that bad. More chances for US fans to meet up with them. ^^

It's time for Ayu to get married. She's no longer young. Ayumi is our queen. Just hope that Mannie can give her happiness and doesn't break her heart. This is what we wish right? Ayu is happy, we should be happy for her too.

AyUmIXx 1st January 2011 07:08 AM

they get married, i wonder where are they gonna live together?
this is so not easy..ayu/mannie is going back n forth between JPN-LA?
wow that's exhausting..

fantaisie.sign 1st January 2011 07:20 AM

LOL, ownsarai! That's hilarious! But she and Max are fairly close, so it was probably more like a daughter asking for her father's permission to marry her lover. Awww... :luv2

Part of me honestly thinks that Ayu will move to Los Angeles... and part of me really hopes that she will. She truly does deserve a break with lots of rest, and getting away from Japan could provide that for her. Plus given all the fan support she has in the US and seeing how much she enjoys coming to America, it makes more sense for her to move to the US instead of making Manuel move to Japan.

The comments on Japanese news blogs and whatnot are all over the spectrum. Everyone seems shocked, of course. Some people say congratulatory things like "おめでとう!" while others bluntly say "なんか離婚しそうだがな" or other things about divorce. Many of them keep negatively emphasizing how Ayu is marrying a "white" guy or a "foreign guy from Los Angeles." And there are some people saying that Manuel is only marrying her for money. Japanese tweets, on the other hand, seem fairly positive and supportive, so... :shrug

OMG OMG OMG i'm so happy !! , as long as ayu happy i'll be happy for both of them <3 !! best news of the year <3

Sirea 1st January 2011 07:23 AM

^ Isn't Mannie pretty well-off himself? I mean, I thought he was a supermodel... and he doesn't seem to need money at this point. :P

ownsarai 1st January 2011 07:26 AM

^he doesn't need money, he makes money on his own being a model.
Some fans are just being pessimistic about the whole thing. I wish people would just be happy for Ayu.

This is also interesting, from the Sponichi article: 12月初旬までには結婚の意思を固めていたとみられ、中旬には所属するエイベックスの松浦勝人代表取締役C EOにも報告した。 It seems like back in early December Ayu told Max about her intentions of getting married? So Avex has had a month to digest the news lol.

this makes me further believe that they've known eachother longer than when Virgin Road was being filmed.

some fans still need time to accept it, coz it's really too sudden..

Ugh, I knew the Japanese would make a big deal out of the whole foreigner thing.

nanakopy87 1st January 2011 07:42 AM

i'm shocked when i first knew this.i'm happy for her because she finally found her prince.on the other hand,i am worried (if ayu really takes a break for honeymoon etc) if mannie can afford to provide her a luxury life(like how she's doing right now).you know, she can spent without looking at the price tag :P

Kingdom 1st January 2011 07:43 AM

I'm so happy for them... I was hoping this would happen and I want to see Ayu's wedding so bad. :heart

roanmy 1st January 2011 07:44 AM

I wonder how hard a hit her popularity will take because of her marrying a foreigner. Though, honestly... I still think it's some kind of weird prank, haha. =P

melina_t 1st January 2011 07:45 AM

I'm so happy for both of them!!
I was seeing people tweet about this and I thought they were joking around at first.

Andali 1st January 2011 07:46 AM

Yay!! So happy for both of them. I don't believe it was quick. When it's the right one you just know. I dated my husband for 3 months before he proposed and we've been married nearly 2 years and have a 5 month old son. We're still madly in love. I say "GO AYU AND MANNIE! REACH FOR THE SKY". I wonder where they'll live. Tokyo or LA??

fantaisie.sign 1st January 2011 07:51 AM

I hope Mannie will take her to Vienna, Saltzburg, and even Prague one day. I can only imagine Ayu's reaction to seeing a Viennese opera or ballet... New music inspirations!

Kagome-chan 1st January 2011 07:54 AM

I'm shocked but also very happy!
In the beginning I've thought that the news was false, but then I went in a konbini and 3 newspapers talked about it. I've bought one XD

roanmy 1st January 2011 07:58 AM

Ok.

Initial shock... Passing.

First off, given the fact that she's a huge mega-star, I sort of see him moving to Tokyo rather than her to LA, he can easily model from there.

And secondly... The languge thing. I'm sure it's fine for now, if they're in love and all. But what happens when they need to make big decisions about their children's education and so forth?

I really do wish her and them all the best, and I hope our fears and doubts are proven wrong. ^^

Ted.chan 1st January 2011 07:58 AM

Congrats Ayu :x:x
Happy forever
