I would like an album with new songs, something to fit "just the beginning"
sort of a new era :)
It would be great and refreshing than the eternal best !

dreamalley 26th February 2017 12:08 PM

I hope she doesn't release any new material this year nor the next.

I wish she'd focus on performing lesser known songs. Songs that she rarely performed live before.

But if she had to release something, then I wish it'd be a complete revamp of her songs. And I mean with new vocals. Turning ballads into rock songs and upbeat songs into ballads. With good MVs matching the new concepts.

A perfect example of this would be what Utada did with "Distance":

I think ayu needs to make Japan fall in love with the person she is now. Instead of Hiding behind her old hits. There're beautiful new songs that I will never see live because of this very reason.

^
^I have always wanted a piano version of (don't) leave me alone, Im sure it would work! That's an interesting idea, I had never heard the two Distance songs!

It's been 2 weeks. I think we're getting dates this week. Maybe even on Monday? Please?:-D
I wonder if photos are allowed this time.

Why on earth would you want 2 years without a new release?

Oh please, as if it's unheard of for any band or artist to make fans wait that long between albums. There's a reason for it.

I think if Ayu actually took some time to make an album, rather than just spitting one out to meet a deadline, I think we'd get a phenomenal album as a result. Not something that feels rushed or disjointed.

BlackSilence 26th February 2017 11:16 PM

yeah time doesn't always mean quality or that people will love it.
I actually want new stuff already lol

And i also need the performance of Sweet scar.

Gosh i haven't been around here in forever. lol

Oh please, as if Ayu's early albums weren't as rushed as always... The amount of time you put into a release doesn't guarantee success nor quality. And yes for her not to release anything in 2 years would be odd.

TeamAyu2004 26th February 2017 11:56 PM

I feel like she does better when she does more.
Like her I am, Rainbow, Memorial Address era were fantastic and all that was done in what, 2 years?

But when she has a break I think she loses steam and starts to get lost (like when she has breaks in albums by 2 years) I could be completely wrong too tho. lol

I agree!!! I feel like I'm the only one who finds her new music (and current voice) to be better than her old songs. Nothing wrong with her old music, most of it is timeless but I feel like her new songs don't get as much love simply because they are different from her old ones.

And I LOVE her current voice, much more mature. I think her current voice has a lot to do with why I enjoy her ballads more, too. I know the GIFT isn't a favorite here, but I struggle to skip it when it comes up because I really love the way she sings it. Sweet scar is another great example, Shape of Love, Anything for you, You're the only one... I'm starting to think A BALLADS 2 wouldn't be a bad idea ;)

CeReSu 27th February 2017 09:12 AM

Ayu, not releasing something in two years???

Guys, we're talking about the woman who released two albums in a year! Remember Rock'n'Roll Circus in april 2010 then Love Songs in december 2010?
These two were fantastics albums. Same for (miss)understood in early 2006 and Secret at the end of the same year. And again, these albums were fabulous.
I've read enough interviews to know that Ayu works better in rush, she always did.

Aries 27th February 2017 06:57 PM

Hello guys!
Do you know if I can get TWO tickets being a member of TeamAyu?

Time doesn't really help Ayu much. However, MY STORY is probably the longest she spent on an album since she was so busy in 2003 and only was able to release a mini album IIRC in 2003 that she basically was working on the album from January 2004 onward or at least thinking about the album (and tour to go along with it).

For the most part though, her albums are all done in the months before release as they always have been. She always likes to put things off till the last minute anyway. For her to take a break or spend longer than her usual timeframe to do an album would be very unlike her because she's a workaholic that cannot sit still by any means.
