Bahhhh Glitter reminds me too much of Greatful Days as I predicted it would. And I agree with Samuel, I do hear some Beautiful Fighters elements in it. I'm not really impressed with it... it carries that annoying beat that she's had in her pop songs since Greatful Days. I'll be damned if BOUNCEBACK didn't compose it (or at least arrange it). If it wasn't them, then someone certainly knows how to rip off their style. I also think the BGM is too loud and her vocals are drowned, but maybe it's the quality of the rip? Hmm. The really AWESOME thing about this song, though, is that bridge/interlude. Gives the song much needed originality and the song ends very well. If it didn't have that, I'd just add the song to the shelf with Greatful Days, Angel's Song, Fairyland, etc. This song gets a 5/10 for me.
Fated does sound generic, but it's still a beautiful and emotional song nonetheless. Nice to see Ayu trying different styles. Her voice sounds lovely in this song. Definitely fitting for a movie! 7/10. |

I don't know how fated is generic... glitter might be because of the summer up-beat songs routine (though it's a bit different but yeah a pop summer song it is) generic it's the arrangement. But fated doesn't really sound like something ayu did a lot or that you hear everyday... it sounds like a fresh ballad... at least to me. xD |
i agree with ayumisrael on the fated thing. it seems really fresh and different for me,.
|
I think it's just that she hasn't composed her summer songs since July 1st/independent...
So we don't really hear as much variety as usual [she probably chooses similar sounding melodies because they fit her summer feelings]~ |
I hope this single gets alot of promotion and Magazine shoots. Also I hope the cover is really nice

Ok, for Glitter, my least favorite part is actually the chorus. The "whoa whoa whoa" parts are cute, but I think her English sounds like crap, and it's sort of irritating to hear the same synth beat going on in the background that I've heard in a number of her other poppy songs. I really like the interlude, and I like her vocals well enough, but they're a bit too cutesy for me...Ayu isn't a kid anymore so I don't think she should sing like one.
I think her vocals in Fated are far superior. They sound great. The dramatic tone of the song also appeals to me more. At this moment I would say Fated is the better of the two songs. Overall, a fab single. Good for Ayu! =0) |
glitter is so good! fated is ok :)
|
i really like "glitter" as of right now (maybe i'll get into "fated" later). the chorus is ridiculously catchy! :O i think "fated" is okay, but i think i'll need to listen to the details on the iPod or something since it's not doing wonders on the computer speakers.
|
LOL there's a part of "glitter" that remind's me of Backstreet Boys' "I want it that way"...When she says "Yes...Still...believe...in Love" <-> "But...I...Want it...That Way" LMAO :laugh :roflmao They sound so simillar but maybe it's just me. (the songs overall are nothing alike and nowhere near simillar though) Ever since I listened to glitter I kept wondering what was it that that part it sounded alike hehe :innocent

i love fated far more then glitter.
i cried so hard when i heard the last chrous........every single time i hear the song, i had tear in my eyes....and no joking, i had played it for at least 6 times. it's such a sad and beautiful song. and i can only understand part of it, i believe i will love the song more when the translation are out |
Ayu should be allowed to sing however she wants.
It's not too grating, and it's tolerable when she goes nasally/high, so I don't think there should be a problem. Unless you just hate people who sing that way :| |
My feelings are pretty much the same as last year with Blue Bird, "Eh." Nothing bad but nothing special either. Fated is the better of the two songs, but still not great.
|
so i've listened to glitter alot of times, and it's grown on me. i really like it! much better than BLUE BIRD. and fated is just great. i love it.
|
I like the more trance element for the background of glitter. It's kind of summery pop, but seems more aggressive than blue bird, but more mellow than startin' and some of her loveppears songs.
Summer songs are like my guilty pleasure. I don't really say I like it but I end up listening to it anyways (songs like Blue Bird, SMILY, With your Smile), and they're always my top songs in term of listens. Fated is good. It actually reminded me of It was... from Secret, but it could have been me. I like the dramatic singing though. |
glitter kinda makes me feel like going outside and punching someone in the face while dancing around at the beach o_o lol
|
Glitter was...nice. It sounds kinda like her old songs and kinda not. I'm impressed.
Fated. Loved it so much! Excellent! |
fated = x3
glitter = pretty good |
Glitter: Like most of you, I'm very impressed! I didn't really like the title, and I expected to be another bluebird/fairyland. It does have that summery feel but it's different! The lyrics are great and so is the melody! You did an awesome job Ayu!!
Fated: I love fated, but for me, it's so painful to listen to.. It makes my heart ache like crazy and the lyrics are just too sad..xD I think I'll only listen to it when I'm feeling heartbroken or sad. |

Also, Id have to say i like Glitter ALOT more than fated because the melody of fated and the flow for me is kind of..unbalanced. What i dont like about glitter is the bridge, because its to MECHANICAL for the summerish feel. Also, is it me or is the instruments nullified, or do they seem not to be as powerul than usual. Also, the summer feel starts off only in the middle of GLITTER which makes me feel a bit lost. Comparing GLITTER to Fated, if have to say glitter seems to have more of a vibrant and impowering (sp?) feel. Secondly, for fated, id have to say that fated is a great song but lack's a few things that i typically prefer in a song. First off the music in the background kind of distracts me from what i really want to hear, her voice. Secondly, although i would like to say that the build-up in fated is amazing because it REALLY prepares you for the chorus. Unfortunetly, the chorus seems a bit weak to me because it isnt really enhanced loudly nor does it have a great impact. Id like to conclude that fated has more of a lasting impact than that of Glitter. Lastly, I want to say that the lyrics in GLITTER are AMAZING. When i usually read lyrics i usually have thoughts running through my mind about how they are too vague and daunty(sp?) but with GLITTER i was amazed how when i read it over it applied so much to me. Since the school year is almost over, some lyric apply to that, but mainly, theres been a relationship problem and GLITTER seems to fit in perfectly. Glitter: 9/10 Fated: 6/10 Overall performance: 8/10 + The covers and the film will probably boost this. - Although i KNOW the sales will decline due to the early release. Suggestions: In instruments need to be more powerful. Less MECHANICAL bridge in GLITTER. Both songs are TOO repetitive and lose catch after a while. I also think that the structure of both songs seemed kind of weak when comparing to Blue Bird and Fairyland. P.S: Im going to Japan from the 4th-11th so ill just miss the single, and i wont be able to buy it. :( But i can take pictures of all the advertisements :D |
The name Glitter does not suit with this song. Personally i like Blue Bird better than Glitter. Glitter did catch my attention like Blue Bird did.
