Jesus Christ what a low number for FIRST....

but I'm sooo glad she's first :3...tp as always <3!

Well, I don't blame the Japanese for doing that....I mean, it's cheaper! I'd buy the single on Itunes (If I was Japanese living in Japan XD). Ayu needs to get with the times and start releasing her some of her songs on ITunes. I mean...she could've did a Hikki and realeased "decision" for download first and then I guess released the T2M (the single in stores).....bcuz she still had fated orchester version to lean on as bait to get her Japanese fans to buy the physical single. It seems that Avex doesn't rely on downloads as much as EMI does...AVEX better get with the times!!!

Hahaha that many? I remember people were shuffling around like mad most of the time until the big hitters, but HALF? People stuck around for Anna's set right? I thought that was fun. Oh you should've been there for the last day. People seemed to really like Mihimaru GT's set and it was REALLY early. I remember comments about people leaving during Ayu's set from watching the a-nation videos. Actually, I don't think very many people left, ne? It was like...THE SPECTACULAR FINALE

Given that Ayu is always the last artist to perform, people who left during her set might not necessarily hate her....they might just want to leave early to beat the traffic out of the stadium :laugh

HiruNoKaze 20th September 2007 11:23 PM

The people who do leave must value getting out early over seeing her, so...they don't really like her. I mean I don't really like Koda but I really enjoyed her set. And Ayu's is the finale, so I think people who leave during her set actually don't like her.

...and I think that's rude too. If u had somethin' to do that day...why would go to concert at all. (Don't answer that!)

Ayu usually ends at night. Maybe it's not that they had something to do. Maybe they just don't want to be stuck in traffic for four hours. And Ayu is not THAT holy so that people have to drop everything else to see her. People are allowed to have other things in their agenda too :P

HiruNoKaze: Like I said, some people favor practicality most. Let's not forget these people actually live in Japan. For them, seeing Ayu is a much more attainable thing than it is for us. Most of us here would stay PAST Ayu's shows, I'm sure, just because we live elsewhere and seeing her would be much more difficult for us than it is for Japanese citizens. For them, if they happen to have to leave a little bit early they can always see another concert of hers.

Don't forget that she has more than one a-nation performance a summer, as well as regular TV appearances, CDL, AT, etc.

ayu_fan929 21st September 2007 12:53 AM

^Or maybe it was a Sunday night and they had to get up early for work the next day?

namiie 21st September 2007 12:59 AM

^ That's also true. Three out of five of her a-nation dates were on Sunday. I didn't want to mention that in my original post 'cause I had to go look up the dates again XD

The a-nation concerts couldn't have been that long...right?

Yeah, they are. If you ever sit through an entire concert, they last from like...early afternoon all the way til late at night. If you think about it, each artist sings 6 songs each and there are like....10-15 or so artists. Plus MC breaks and all, and you have like an 8 hour concert. Phew.

HiruNoKaze 21st September 2007 01:15 AM

I went to the last two concerts. a-nation is kind of like a big festival for people in Japan. I didn't mean so much "ZOMG ITS AYU HOW COULD THEY" but rather "it's the finale of the show they paid good money for." Not many people left. Of course the hardcore Ayu fans there (the Japanese ones; I didn't see very many non-Japanese besides sunshineslayer and myself), would stick with Ayu to the end. A good number of people in Japan work very late anyways, so no biggie to them.

On a side note, a lot of people in Japan have strange images of Ayu. For example, a lot of people are like, sure she totally had surgery. I had to explain to a lot of people that there's no proof and in fact, if you compare pics, I really don't think she did. (stupid panasonic with their photoshop; also, people can look really different in different situations, and Ayu is an excellent example) It's sort of like Michael Jackson's image, but on a smaller scale. People in the US are like omg he's a freak while he has crazy hardcore overseas fans (that's my impression).

The guy who did my hair (omg I love this hair...) said he doesn't like the recent Ayu because she's too girly. I asked him who he does like and he said Lea Dizon (I was like...you noob). Anyways, I told him Ayu's going back to the old school and then he pulled out the recent Vivi dejideji (course I told him yea I've seen that and he laughed haha). Good times.

Sooooo ahem about the actual topic of this thread, I plan to translate the explanation of the "index number" which is called "daily sales" here on AHS. Have we been looking at the index number since forever here at AHS? I hope we've been consistent.

I didn't mean they left and didn't come back. haha. I mean they left to go to the bathroom/eat etc. while DBSK was on. It really looked like a mass exodus going on, I actually felt sorry for DBSK.
And I'm glad actually that I went to the day before the last one because that day had Remioromen. :)

That's exactly what it is. It's not exactly fun trying to get on the train with 70,000 other people after the show. If I wasn't a big Ayu fan, I'd leave early too.

Nah, it doesn't mean they don't like her. Just that they don't care one way or the other - it's different. Like if say Otsuka were to end the show, I'd probably just stay for her first few songs and then leave. Doesn't mean I don't like her, I just don't LOVE her. In fact the guy sitting next to me came ONLY for Otsuka. He showed up about 2 artists before she came on and left right after she finished.

lol. They last all day and well into the night. You also have to take into account the sweltering humidity - not exactly the funnest thing.

that only happens if the both artists do not have no. 1 streaks OR lots of no. 1 singles/albums. It's weird but I think maintain no.1 streak is quite important in the Japanese music industry. If not we should be able to see, for example, B'z vs. KinKi Kids.

Unless ayu's no. 1 streak is broken by a less popular artist (such as the song is really good that everyone wanna buy it.. so it outsells ayu's single at the end of the week), you won't see avex releasing ayu single on a dangerous week.
