OLIVIA's style pre-NANA and her NANA style music are obviously very, very different. Once The Cloudy Dreamer came out, it was like she had sort of merged the two styles and that mini album was the result of that merging.

Trinka Trinka, seems to be a further progression on that sound, but overall her music seems to be getting more upbeat and happy. At first I was thinking that if she kept progressing on this sound that Trinka Trinka had, and she kept making more and more uplifting music that we'd end up with OLIVIA-styled synthy power pop with old school OLIVIA-rock elements as supporters.

But after seeing the titles from her upcoming single (in particular Owl's Tear) it seems like she might be reverting back to her roots a little more, maybe? I guess title's can be deceiving though... So we'll see how this comes out in due time!

And thanks for the compliments on the article! ^_^

It's also my favorite. Although, I also really enjoy internal bleeding strawberry and The Lost Lolli...

Stars shining out + Who's gonna stop it? + a little pain = <3333

^ I would like to add Cut me free to your equation.
The Lost Lolli is my #1 fave. I love how out there the lyrics could get and the experimental compositions of the songs.

I've read before from the Purple Sky interview whenever she wrote a song, a staff member translated some of the lyrics into Japanese since she knew very little. I guess she did learn how to speak and write in Japanese flulently just now.

Even though she was in Japan she probably stayed on a base where English was mostly spoken.

I miss the lost lolli days but as long as shes making new music it'll override it (my missing the lost lolli days).

does anyone feel that she converses better in Eng rather than Japanese or I could be wrong about it ? :shrug

Mirai Noah 26th January 2009 06:09 PM

^ Yeah, I agree. :yes

amorphose 26th January 2009 10:24 PM

Whenever she speaks Japanese, it sounds like she's a high school student learning the language, trying very hard to form what they wanna say in their head first.

I do agree, that she sounds much better talking in English rather than Japanese.

ll moments ll 11th February 2009 02:39 AM

nice to hear a release date! :)
i hope the song's good.

Yum!Fruit_Salad! 11th February 2009 03:37 AM

I'm curious about OLIVIA's version for "Sailing Away". Does it mean she helped direct the PV?

Beauty4123 11th February 2009 03:55 AM

i took it as a PV with OLIVIA in it, as opposed to a PV without scenes of OLIVIA (which i think would be the BASARA version of the sailing free PV?)
