I have read that Ayu and hitomi are good friends but I haven't heard that Ayu asked if she could wear the look, although it sounds like something Ayu would do if she really liked the look.

Call it fan loyalty, but I have a hard time believing that Ayu would flat-out steal a look. Of course, no one owns a certain look... Getting down to the essence of this thread, all this 'she wore it first' stuff isn't about stealing... it's about inspiration.

The idea that Ayu admires other artists and musicians for their image, so much so she'd want to replicate it is kind of cool. She has people who inspire her to continue her artistry. On top of that, she takes a look at makes it her own, either with make up or music or... hell, her nail art.

And the idea that others are inspired by Ayu's style is a huge compliment. Dare I mention Jolin Tsai*?

...I have to say though, I've never been a fan of the 'Dearest hat.' On Ayu or Hitomi. ^^;

thinking about ayu, i think in one of her interviews she said something about what she wears... something like when she sees it, she just falls in love with it lol maybe this was the case with hitomi's fluffy hat, as well as the entire look
