Am I seriously the only one who thinks GENIE sounds like pure crap? I mean, it sounds like it was made on a home computer with Audacity using a karaoke track. :| That and the fact that both the song recording and the MV to me scream "low budget." I'm kind of shocked that people are actually in love with this because, well... I just can't see how they OK'd the track for release when it sounds so amateur/cheap. They pretty much ruined my favorite SNSD song ever. ;(

And also, Korean singers need to stay out of Japan. J-pop pretty much dead while k-pop is thriving. :x Plzzz Japan don't ruin the awesome k-pop singers.

I understand where you're coming from.after playing the MV for like another 10 times... I think the parts that Yuri & Tiffany sing, as in the part right before the chorus, sounds reli weird...like hmm it's not auto tune lol I don't even know what it is it just sounds weird.

The video was hot though...colored background is cheap yeah but they're so damn hot especially Jessica omg :heart

Their pronounciation was really off and I wish the PV was as grand as the Korean original. That said, what record company are they signed with in Japan? Its not Avex?

I also don't like the new pv that much... The 3D version looks okay, but to me, the Korean original videoclip is FAR superior in all aspects.
Be it solo backgrounds, dancing, styling (what did they DO with the clothes and some girls' hair???), overall looks and "feel"..
No sorry, I'm not feeling it, it doesn't look cheap to me, but I really dislike some parts and prefer the Korean version, even though it's a b**** to sing along with XD

Hmm well I can understand the PV, the coloured background looks really cheap now that I've watched it a few more times. But everything else is fine IMO, and they look great.

The part of the song that sounds really cheap to me, is right after Tiffany says "DJ put it back on", the transition to the chorus was awkward, you could tell it was a copy and paste job, major fail mixer
