about the voyage remix:
Dj turbo is not my favorite dj, anyway, i think his remix is fine..like the rest of his ayu remixes.
but i have more expectation about the north american house remixers

and the Voyage remix - dislike because I do not like house.

Don't think she'll be re-recording those songs, because for Voyage (TURBO's Circuit mix), they've use her voice in 2002, the normal one. :grumpy

I didn't think they would but it would be a much better idea had they done so.

I like the leaked remix of "Voyage". I like how some of the intervals with just music sound almost ominous.

dude that sucks... because that's 1/4 of the remixes hahah

i love house music, i find it much more dance-able than trance or eurobeat (which are much faster in tempo). however i very much love trance for anytime-listening on my ipod. :yes

i wish she would have re-recorded the vocals.
but that would probably take too much time and effort, and some of those higher notes she could easily sing when she was younger are probably really hard for her to hit now.

or something

Bigtop 10th April 2011 11:56 PM

I'm looking forward to the acoustic orchestras. I LOVE ACOUSTIC ORCHESTRA VERSIONS!!! Too bad they did NOT put JEWEL - hopefully sooner or later JEWEL can finally be released in an orchestra version... :grumpy

I did not realize it but, you're right, she hasn't released an acoustic orchestral of JEWEL... and I think that could be so beautiful too. I think she should release a new A BALLADS ;)

But, I think she is only putting the 50 single hits on this ayu-mi-x. so it makes sense JEWEL is not on it.

I feel like house has no climax - it's all just beats and usually lacking a good melody.

LastAngel 11th April 2011 01:14 AM

Is there any news on the OS versions?

That's the exact same statement my boyfriend always gives, whenever I mention house music. He too -as I think you are?- is a vocal trance enthusiast :) I think there's a connection there! Vocal trance, to me, is just filled with climaxes. They have small buildups, with lots of overkills (overkill here, not being a bad thing) on top of each other almost.

I love house music for its more subtle emotional qualities, like some dubstep.

Cyberbird 11th April 2011 10:49 AM

Why a house ver. laked first? D:

I thought they said somewhere around that they were re-recording all the vocal tracks for these releases?? Or was that just for the AO's?

They didn't re-record anything. They simply said that to make new versions of her older songs, they would use her vocal tracks.

Picaflor 7/4 11th April 2011 04:01 PM

^In other words. she's a complete lazy ass that doesn't feel like re-recording all the songs. I wouldn't want to either. that's 50 singles worth of songs.

Not just vocal trance, trance in general - but yes. I love the epic buildup in trance before the major kick! Trance is so much more emotional and I have such mad respect for producers who can convey such amazing emotion through non-vocal trance tracks especially.

I've read this statement somewhere before:

"Trance is for the heart. House is for the soul."

it'd be a wasted effort too. it'd just piss off a lot of the fans who prefer her vocals in the original songs.

Zeke. 11th April 2011 04:24 PM

Yeah I think re-records are overrated now. I really didn't like any of the 10th Anniversary re-record vocals (especially Who... - what a God-awful letdown). Her voice just does not suit them anymore - but I still would like a re-recording for evolution (softer acoustic version and raw rock version).

What's the difference between heart and soul, if we talk about those words as synonym for emotions? :mgagged
