Well, you can say so lol I didnt see her state that directly but it has been announced she will sing the theme song for Kamen Rider Geats alongside Shonan no Kaze. It's name is Trust・Last, and it was composed by Kenji, but we only got a lq preview with people talking over it so far... hope it gets a proper release soon.

Other than that, she was in the studio a lot during July and early August, but she seems to be on some kind of summer break these days. Guess she'll be announcing stuff soon!

Also, there was a rumour around twitter about a concert on her 40th birthday, iirc there was an arena/hall (?) which had the date reserved for Kumi according to its website. But I dont remember the details and the tweet got deleted :P

It's two dates: One is the new Ariake arena, which was built for the Olympics and just opened for general events this August.
The other is Budokan.
No official announcement yet, which is probably the reason the fan deleted it again. Her Japanese fans are pretty strict with that.

I'm watching Love & Songs 2022 and it's so good, I wasn't that much into the new album but the new songs sound so much better live, I also watched the Premium Symphonic Concert 2022 but even though it was nice it kinda lacked the energy. I never managed to finish watching the 20th anniversary concert so Love & Songs 2022 is first since re(live) 2019 that I can fully enjoy.

So...I just happened to come across this random person's video on YouTube showing bits of Kuu's show in Montreal back in early August. First I heard of it (late September).

I honestly don't know what to think. WTF kind of promotion is that? I would've killed to have been there; I'm barely 2 hours away from Montreal. Someone explain to me the logic behind this whole "keeping it a secret" thing. I was rather annoyed (to put it mildly) not to have heard of this until now.

blank paper is a collaboration between her & BACK-ON which her husband Kenji is in the band

I have no idea why up to now avex don't want to outright promote blank paper but if you're in the know in Kuu's fandom then blank paper is something that has been going on for a while

Then again when blank paper performed overseas , they did performed a few Kuu songs other than original band material but even with the rather over the top disguise , it's quite obvious it's Kuu , vocals wise x)

I'm quite excited about this concert, hopefully there will be a new release around it so she can promote it! Would love a new EP with Trust Last, Winds, It's K Magic and some other songs, or even a new cover album~ I'm always down for those!

Oh, nothing updated almost a month ��

I recently saw some new pictures of her wearing a new hat with the new Anniversary concert logo on it teasing about new merchandise for that. Plus some photos of her working on planning for the show but that's all I've seen or heard that's new.

Yeah, she's been pretty quiet on official releases...

She teased a new song on insta, saying she finished recording a song she wanted to record for quite some time already, which makes me think it's either a cover or a collab. But since she was also at her home studio, a cover seems more likely to me.

And also on instagram, she said she did a lot of shooting these days, with many sides of "Koda Kumi" being shot, but we don't know if it's music related, and if by "shooting" she meant pics or videos. But she did imply she'll announce it at the anniversary live, so I guess until there we won't have much news from her? Hope Trust Last gets a proper release soon as well.

Honestly I'm hoping for her next studio album by end of the year. Btw, is "It's K Magic" an official song?

Also I know I'm probably in the minority, but I'm not getting into "Trust Last".

I am not either, I hope a full version make it sound less chaotic, seems like chunks of the song were chopped off. But then the song might as well be like that in the end...

And I see It's K Magic as an official song, just with no release plans like Bring It On which was performed live for years before getting a studio version.

I love the colors for these goodies, finally we are getting more than just black and white hahahah Hope this also applies to whatever shooting she was doing these days and the covers/sleeves of upcoming releases. Such a looong way until December 6th, hopefully we'll get something until there.
