All these arguments are a good read right now. I'm pretty bored so I keep checking this thread like every twenty minutes. xD

i like the title :D its so cool!

and people get over britney and co already.
:tired

Ayu-me 17th February 2010 07:59 PM

I must admit I'm not part of the people who thought "OMG! Britney!" when they saw the title... I first thought of AC/DC's "Rock 'N' Roll Train" :yes It actually started playing in my head when I started reading this (LOL)
I don't understand why people keep comparing Ayu to other artists and claiming that she copies them. A circus is a very common term around the world (at least here in the west, not sure about Asia), and I've seen many circuses in my childhood, and saying Ayu copies someone by having a name with that word in it, is the same thing as saying Ayu is copying Tyra Banks because she straightened her hair (not that I know if Tyra straightened her hair recently). As long as the music, the concerts and the promo pictures and album covers are somewhat original and still Ayu, I'm happy.
Why fight because you have different opinions on something? If we all thought the same all the time, what would be the idea of a forum?

Ayumiko 17th February 2010 08:06 PM

The title sounds interesting and really unexpected! I guess this will also be the album title. Come to think of it, Ayu had little circus themes in her tours and pvs here and there...clowns in concert tour 2000 and future classics, A museum stage, alterna and 1 love pv.

If the tour title is Britney influenced, I hope the outfits won't be anything ridiculous like her's.

Christina did the circus theme before Britney.

but you know...future classics cdl could of been called rock'n'roll circus...the performances fit the name.

Last year wasn't the first time she had recycled outfits. I've been looking through past performances and such, and she's been recycling outfits since the beginning. I personally don't mind it, because the outfits are usually varied somehow, but hey, to each their own.

I actually liked the center stage. I saw Britney's and the Jonas Brothers last tours, which both used the center stage, and because they're in the middle of the arena, you can see the stage very clearly, no matter where you're sitting. Plus, they were able to interact with the audience much better than performing on a stage at one end of the arena.

Oh really? You know, it's probably how she's able to keep things in budget. After hearing about BoA's misfortune, I mind less if Ayu recycles. And if you really think about it and want to stretch the idea a bit, she's literally recycling when she reuses outfits and stages. Where does that stuff go when she's done? In the garbage? There's nowhere to keep it so why not reuse it, help keep the world a little greener xD;

I dunno, I am afraid of becoming totally addicted to it, as I'm afraid my studies might suffer due to the possible addiction~ lol it is great though :love

On topic: I'm really looking forward to getting more details about the new album and I am hoping that this time the album will be longer~

lollipop sophie 17th February 2010 08:25 PM

I can't believe people are complaining over a title really.... really
and everybody is comparing who did the circus theme and all that
it DOESN'T matter! if ayu wants to do the circus then she'll do it
really I thought people lost it when they thought microphone was a
dumb title! anyway I'm happy about the title! she's doing something new
(for her) I think thats why I like ayu all her albums are different but people
always say they like her old style but if you really listen and look you can
see that they're all different you can say they all have there own personality
(if that make sense) and this album is gonna be different as well some people
will hate and some will love it.

jkm444 17th February 2010 08:28 PM

title sounds cool!! All I am hoping is that she doesn't do that acapella intro thingy like what she did for her last 2 opening for her concerts. Please ayu, take out the whole shuya "I'm lost" dance theme..

Yeah! I was buggin' out because of the title of the album, but I can settle for the title of the tour. Now.... the tracklist :mischief And later.... the setlist :tipsy

Ayumiko 17th February 2010 08:29 PM

I bet we'll get the tissue dance and hanging hoops again.

The tour should more rock'n'roll theme than circus...as future classics is suppose to be the prelude to this tour. I'm expecting this tour to be a higher budget version of future classics.

I guess she is more concentrated on the tour and rehearsals this year. Let's hope that we'll have some more info once the Panasonic CM airs tomorrow (or at least another preview of a new song).

btw AHS hasn't crushed yet, which is, like, totally weird xD

tenez 17th February 2010 08:32 PM

Ahh. That's interesting. I'm trying not to think too much about how the word 'Circus' will fit in... just because I don't like that idea very much. ^^; Rock n' Roll sounds a little classy, actually.

We're ladies (and boys) in waiting at the moment~. <3

Keiichi_JPU 17th February 2010 08:35 PM

I sooo hope she'll explore the Scary / Freaky side of the Circus. I want WONDERLAND, alterna, 1 LOVE, Marionette, I want scary clowns and freaky monsters!! I want her to be surrounded and attacked by Pennywise-clones, I want her to bleed to death on stage like Gaga, and I want her to be revived by an angel on a high thin rope in the middle of the Circus!!

please ayu, PLEASE! :love

(am I overdoing it?)

It's probably a budget thing, like you said. I've noticed she reuses outfits from PVs during live performances, like with one from Startin'...
http://eneabba.net/ayu/video/videocl....Startin23.jpghttp://eneabba.net/ayu/video/live/pa...tartin0206.jpg

Various M performances (plus the PV) have had similar outfits...
http://eneabba.net/ayu/video/videoclips/19.M60.jpghttp://eneabba.net/ayu/video/live/part03/32.M0108.jpghttp://eneabba.net/ayu/video/live/part03/32.M0203.jpg

She's had various outfits with the short-ish shirts, and then the long sleeves (mostly Asian-style tops):
http://eneabba.net/ayu/video/live/part03/32.M1603.jpghttp://eneabba.net/ayu/video/live/pa...8.I_am0114.jpghttp://eneabba.net/ayu/video/other/1...-ayumix401.jpg

There's so many more ("I am..." from AT02 and CDL09-10, dress from ballads section of CDL09-10 and a-nation '05, dress from ballads section of CDL08-09 and AT09, etc etc etc.). Even many of her performances are recycled, which is a pretty common thing. (I've seen it happen so many times in the music industry, anyway.)

I'm just saying, I know I won't be surprised if I see more recycling in Ayu's career. It tends to continue to shock people, which is both surprising and not so surprising.

You can do that best with a number of small stages and catwalks though IMO
The stage Nana Mizuki used for her Live Diamond Dome concert last summer was one of the best for audience interaction I've ever seen though she had a 34k audience(there were 4 circular stages, a mainstage that was GIANT, 2 catwalks, a crane in the middle of the audience(instead of the mains stage or near it), a vehicle driving through th audience and even some walking through it)

SongBirdie 17th February 2010 08:40 PM

Well.... it isn't boring.

I'm sure the tour will be pretty exciting.

Re-using PV outfits for TV lives is something that almost every female artist in Japan does :yes
