Quit being dramatic, to dismiss a tour before you see anything about it, because theres lots of ballads, is dumb... It was expected. Its not like she won't have an energy at all. There's only 11 and not all of them are slow ballads.

This will be a touching concert. Excited for you're not alone!

:yes

I myself thought it's silly to get so worked up over the setlist & it's only the 1st day of the Dejavu tour to begin with ~_~

ballads are some of Kumi's strongest works to date . you was her 1st #1 single & it was a ballad

& then in recent times , Ai no Uta has become a Karaoke fave & then Suki de x3 / Anata Dake ga *_*

jbrat2219 24th April 2011 02:50 AM

No one's dismissing anything. I'm even looking forward to some of them. But that doesn't change the fact I find a heavy ballad section very boring. Sorry if my opinion offends you. :shrug

Kingdom 24th April 2011 03:17 AM

You don't have to apologize for offending anybod. I for one am not offended. Would you not agree that you were being a bit over dramatic?

I think the one song for Earthquake disaster in the concert is great, but why set up your whole concert to be centered around pain, sadness or sensitivity. It should be encouraging, fun and exciting. I don't know, maybe the ballads are encouraging but 11 in a row? Sooooooooooo boring... because this tour is already a big no for me, sorry. :no

Without seeing the tour, without seeing one performance, without seeing any costumes, you pretty much dismissed it as a big boring snoozefest because of the setlist for the first date :P

What you should realize is that Kuu's not doing this setlist just because of the earth quake. Her last minitour was Eternity, which was mostly ballads and it turned out to be a FANTASTIC show, and she mentioned that she would like to turn more attention towards her music than just the performance aspect of her tour. She wants her music to reach people, and the best way to do that is with emotional songs.

It's not as if she is doing piano ballad, after piano ballad, after piano ballad. That would be boring. Instead, she has a good mixture of her "ballad" songs, some midtempo and some slower.

All I'm saying, is wait until you see the show before you totally get "disappointed" with it... who knows, you might end up really liking it. It's not as if the entire show is a big ballad.

I guess I came off more dramatic than I meant to but even a mixture of ballads is just not appealing to me if it's too many at one time. I know she wants to focus more on her music, and based on two flawless albums, Eternity and Dejavu, I can tell she's serious about it. But at the same time I can't bring myself to be excited about a concert that has 11 ballads in a row. That's all I meant to say. At this point, it would be disappointing for me but that doesn't stop me from wanting to see some of my favorite ballads being performed, I just might have to take a break in between when I get the DVD if that is indeed the setlist. :P

ren'ai 24th April 2011 03:38 AM

^There's around 30 songs on the setlist, 11 ballads isn't that much :P

So apparently Black Candy was also performed!! So obviously that list we got is gonna be tweaked around a lot as it's not official

I can't wait to hear You are not alone.. is it up for chaku uta download already??

freedreamer 24th April 2011 03:49 AM

damn..ok at least now i can understand why there are so many ballads.
though it isnt the most preferred but we'll have to make do with this..at least for now i hope

very good point... & I'm excited for Black Candy!

tbh this is a good setlist for me. I love the songs she picked from Eternity, and we get all of the songs from Dejavu! I wonder why Lick me was last though?

jbrat2219 24th April 2011 04:22 AM

^ Yeah I noticed Lick me close to the end, too. But it looks like it would be a great closer to be honest.

tokyoxjapanxfan 24th April 2011 06:05 AM

I tend to like Kuu's ballads, so I'm actually looking forward to seeing it.

However, if I went to the concert and had to sit through a bunch of ballads, I'd probably be a little less-than-impressed. But it's all how they're performed! Yeah she could perform them really boringly, but I bet the costumes and scenery will be great! *hopefully*

Kingdom 24th April 2011 06:33 AM

Did you guys forget the amazingness that is Eternity Billboard Live? :thud

She pretty much sang slow tempo songs the entire time and it was still really entertaining for me. At least this time there will be costume changes, dancers, special settings, etc.

I guess it's because of all the disasters, everyone's sad so Kuu wants her audience to leave the hall feeling happy? Lick me is loved by a lot of people in Japan too.

AyuHamasaki01 24th April 2011 09:39 AM

I like the setlist :yes But I think 11 ballads is a bit too much.

tenshi no hane 24th April 2011 10:06 AM

I don't really care what the tracklist is as long as she performs Okay, AT THE WEEKEND and I Don't Love You!? :yes

Minttulatte 24th April 2011 01:22 PM

I don't have any problem with Kuu singing those ballads. She doesn't sing them and look boring like I mostly feel when I watch someone else's ballad performances. Kuu's performances are always different imo. Besides, this concert will be amazing as any other Kuu concert even if she sings 11 ballads lol. :'D

Now I'll go retry downloading Billboard Live because my internet hated me yesterday so I gotta give it a another shot now ->

noisy_harmony 24th April 2011 01:43 PM

I always love ballad sequences on her concerts so I'm even happy that things have turned out this way.

noisy_harmony 24th April 2011 03:42 PM

omg comeback of 2006 hair! :luv2 at least as a wig.

ren'ai 24th April 2011 04:10 PM

^omg I knoww I love that hair T___T

I love the 1st and 2nd outfit but the others look too bland in the pics

I've been fishing around the net for some blog entries about the live.. and from the very few I found, Kumi had made an appearance on stage before the live actually started to talk to the audience like she did in Kingdom tour.

From my sucky translations I got that she had been thinking real hard about whether to go on tour or not because of what happened but in the end she decided its best to go on

During the MC she talks about future support for the earthquake and how she's donated individually but she also wants to donate together with her fans also so she decided on a charity song download..

aand someone else said the link to UNIVERSE was not really apparent in the opening

During Melting, the dancers go around the audience, throwing candy.
The towel dance was for Choitashi Life
