I was just thinking about this in work today :P Not that A BEST 3 will get released because of the low sales. But that I feel we're kind of due another best of compilation. we're 6 full albums (I know Secret was out before AB2 but there was no songs from Secret on it...) and 1 mini album removed from A BEST 2...

Well, they'll figure something out. She released Love songs 8 months after Rock'n'Roll Circus and if she somehow manages to create a November/December album for 2012 she could very well do the same and preserve a "#1 every year" streak. Of course, that period of time is also very heavy with top contenders releasing albums so it's not a guarantee by any means that she'd get to the top.

Why would relatively low sales suggest an A BEST 3? I am guessing, though, Avex would save that till next year? (But I am more interested in studio albums, rather than best/compilation albums.)

As for the sales, I am kinda curious about what the weekly sales would be like.

It would only potentially happen if she didn't get #1 which isn't really guaranteed yet. Maybe when she gets 30k+ behind ABC? Even then, I wonder if she'll have a crazy weekend boost for whatever reason?

It's thought that A COMPLETE was released in 2008 because GUILTY was unable to get #1 for that Oricon year.

A-Complete was released the same year, thus her having a number 1 album every year was kept alive.

So it doesn't have to be studio albums for the No. 1 album record?

Thanks for the info on A COMPLETE, didn't think about that. I thought it was because of her 10th anniversary, though at that time I did find it a little weird given we just had A BEST 2 in 2007.

It's not likely but it's a possibility. Mirrorcle World had an INSANE weekend boost after almost losing out to Shuchishin but that was thanks to concerts, it seems.

I think Ayu could probably still snatch the number one in the coming days. It's still way too early to call IMO.

Another odd example is when HEAVEN was #2, #3, and #4 in the first week before ending up as #1 for the rest of the week resulting in a #1 at the end of the week.

I think it is more hard for her to get #1 for 14th album.. (Sales will be lower than PQ probably.
As Avex still want Ayu to keep the record about "having #1 album every year" so I just afraid A Best 3 will be launched this year..

I'm not sure if this is exactly relevant but could someone post daily sales for the first week of ABC's last studio album? I just would like to see the sales pattern for his albums.

I think it would give her time off to actually focus on her music and not so much pushing out a record in less than two months. Her albums take the least amount of time to make of anyone I've known, and she actually seems to spend less time on an album as time goes on. Maybe some time investment in the music would help her bounce back like it did with Namie?

It's either Timmy or these guys grasping for straws, or it's Ayu just doing whatever is convenient at the moment? I like collabs, but she's working with people who aren't known. It would be nice to see her work with another well-established musician instead of someone Avex is trying to get a solo record ready for.

There have been numerous threads on AHS about whether SHU-YA and Ayumi were an item, whether he was gay, etc.. And tons of threads about how tired people were of seeing him everywhere. I've seen at least 3 in the 2.5 years I've been on and off of here just about whether they were dating or not.
I don't have a problem with Timmy being featured, but he's not as much a feature on this album. He is literally everywhere, in the production, in the songs, singing and rapping his own lines, having his own scenes in Ayu's PVs... I think it's a lot for someone no one really gives a damn about to be in so many places. I want this record for Ayumi. I didn't want a good collaboration on FIVE to turn into a full-blown album of "Party Queen ~Timmy Sing-Along Songs, Vol. 1~".

He's in the "KANPAI" in Party Queen; sings background vocals and raps in NaNaNa; background vocals in Shake It<3; background vocals in call; background vocals in Letter; background vocals on reminds me; choir in Return Road; complementary and background vocals in Tell me why; very clearly in the next LOVE; clearly in Eyes, Smoke, Magic background vocals and other complements; and he is the choir and background vocal in how beautiful you are. I am really surprised that he didn't invade the interludes and shout "TIMMY! TI-TI-Tiiiiiimmmy!" during taskebab. He's in two PVs (wasn't he in hbya too?!)

Several people have asked me if this is an "Ayu x Timmy" record. That's why I mention that people are confused as to whether Ayumi is still doing solo work.

I'm a little sad with the sales, they don't mean a lot to me, but it's always nice seeing her on top. =)
But with the huge lack of promotion, it's understandable, one more point about being a "conceptual album": low sales haha xD

And AHS, why such a drama? People who are hating ayu since 2009 as it seems, please, log off. It's pretty simple ;)

Lots of reasons what bad sales, yet it's not the end of the week. Even if it's getting no. 2 in the end, it's not the end of the world.

The #4 is fuzzy but I'm pretty sure she was 3rd and 2nd at some point.
