If she never returns to the voice of ASFXX I'll be thankful xD

I'm quite impressed with these songs.

I think Melody is going to be a favorite. The live rip is fantastic.
I love the intensity of Missing, her vocals are so strong and clear!
Song 4 u is pretty good, but too anime for my taste.

November 8 just keeps coming closer...
Too bad I'm not looking forward to it; it can come when it likes. I have so much work due around that time. It's horrendous

TeamAyu2004 29th October 2012 04:46 PM

i love love love the full song of song 4 u. although I must admit it's abit unexpectedly short for a typical ayu song. I think the song is awesome in every way. definitely very ayu sounding. love the composing, arrangement and especially her voice. Ayu's definitely moving in the right direction :) can't wait for the entire single. Excited!!

Regarding the subject (outrage?) that this is being billed as a mini-album/EP, I find it interesting that on wiki, the "L" single is listed as an EP, lol.

Under 4 min. Song 4 U >>>>>>>>> Over 5 min. Progress

And in the article they call L "single EP", so there are "album EPs" and "single EPs"? xD

When iTunes had Ayu's music, most if not all of her singles were listed as EP's, lol.

I do have some knowledge in the area though, enough to tell that none of the songs on Party Queen is a bad composition or overly generic, but not enough to objectively call any part of it great. I have sufficient theoretical and practical knowledge in the Film department and Photography department, but those are of course irrelevant when only looking at the songs itself and only come into play when also looking at the booklet and PVs.

I think you're on the money here - and also doubles as the reason why others didn't like PQ. For Ayu, it was quite an experimental album. But not a perfect one - sometimes the experimentation worked, and sometimes it didn't. It did what it set out to do right from the release of the covers - cause a little controversey and divide fans.

LOVE on the other hand, judging from the previews, is the total opposite of experimental. It has that "familiar Ayu" sound that many Ayu fans have come to love, regardless of whether she's done that sound time and time again. The Japanese fans love "familiar Ayu" and "familiar Ayu" is what sells.

But experimental Ayu initially created those traditional Ayu sounds - if it wasn't for songs like "M" (which were so different to her discography prior to its release), we wouldn't have got many of the pop-rock-strings songs she's released since then and become fan favourites.

I like a balance of both - traditional Ayu + Ayu pushing the boundaries of her sound. I think her output in 2012 has done that quite nicely.

I think Party Queen was the UK/USA album for ayu, she is smart and don't want make music for USA/UK, but she was did it in Party Queen album with Timmy with her, the songs sounds so american and british and she never has do one sound like this.

So for me is not a experimental album is a International Album USA/EUROPA xd
And I can't believe that LOVE doesn't have a Poster ¬¬'

Am I the only one that's checking CDJapan or wherever to see if they've begun shipping it?

For me Ayu's have always sounded like that, a lot of Ayu's songs remind me of Beatles songs for instance. Girlish being the most obvious one. Though the whole of Jpop is pretty much based on US & UK music.

Love girlish but I can't stand the Beatles. Yeah call me crazy, but I find them annoying and I remember my roommate in college played the same songs by them over and over and it drove me up the WALL!

Mine says Processed next to Ayu's LOVE , since both Kumi's CDs are in stock already. Don't even remember what it means. Haven't order from there since winter.

Anyway, I need full versions of all songs.
