Yay I can't wait to get the new year goods! I got an email saying they arrived at tenso, I will get them shipped when I get home. I have never had to pay custom fees either, the limit in Australia is $1000 a month and I never import that much, so it's never been an issue for me. :o

only package i never had to pay customs was one from HMV Japan.. Celga's packages don't ever be taken by customs even if they're over 6kg because they put such an random numbers to prices. i wonder does it change that if i change the amount on Tenso before they ship it? tired of paying of nothing :no

Normally registered SAL is insured up to 6000 Yen, they also write that in their shipping method discription. (and I had a private person who always sent me stuff this way) And yes it takes long, but I can wait. And the reason you canīt track it after it left japan is that it gets relabled in your country, it will get a different tracking code because your post can read the foreign tracking codes. (they only can read the EMS/Express tracking codes) And for me at least chances for custom are lesser, as EMS getīs always hold, SAL only a few times^^

My package's value was above 6000 yen, so it wouldn't have applied for me anyway, and the tracking code for my package was not changed, the original tracking code was the one they scanned at the post office and it is still searchable on the Swedish post's website. All the usual information about the package's journey, like when it arrived in Sweden and how it was sent to customs processing right after that, is there. Though I do know from experience that SAL packages aren't always trackable, wouldn't they in that case be unregistered SAL? I always got the impression that "registered" makes the difference, but I may be wrong.
I also know from experience that SAL (registered or not) does not always get customs, but I personally always expect the worst with SAL as I once had a package, total value INCLUDING shipping ~30 USD, and the size of two DVDs stacked on top of each other, get customs as well as the post's additional fee. Customs are at around 25% so that wasn't too bad, but the post's fee is at the fixed rate of ~15 USD, meaning I had to pay more than an extra 50% on top of what I paid for the package in the first place.
So yeah, I've had more than my fair share of bad experiences with SAL and customs, but much fault of that lies with the Swedish customs and post. I just want to say that their incompetence is just astounding; my most recent EMS package has now taken more than the promised 4 workdays to arrive, not because of Christmas backlogging, but because they keep sending my stuff to the wrong post office, a mistake they have made and rectified several times over. Not to mention that time the customs forgot about my EMS package and after almost 3 weeks of waiting, I sent them a message to inquire about it: they don't reply, just out of the blue, the package gets moving to my post office, and I still have the pay the customs of course!
This rant is kind of pointless, so I'll stop it, but I just wanted to accentuate how worthless the whole "cutting corners" with the shipping has been for me. Hopefully, you'll get a much better experience than me!

Tenso allows you to edit the value of your package, but I do believe customs usually check the actual package slips (from mu-mo or whatever store you're buying from) inside the package and will ask you to send them proof of the package's value (i.e. your order confirmation/s) before they release it. The package value below 22 Euro-rule also applies for Swedish customs, I believe, and as seen in my experience above, if you're just the tiniest bit above that line you can still get hit hard with the fees. Customs really don't fuck around in the Nordic countries, it seems.

With the post, pretty much as soon as it gets into your country, its speed is determined by how quick your country does it. Lucky for me, Australia post is relatively quick and no extra fees. The only time customs, I know of, hold items is when its like a sword or stuff along that nature

~angel*ayumi~ 7th January 2015 10:13 AM

@Ayu-me
For me EMS getīs more often hold by customs than SAL xD
As for the tracking maybe itīs different in Sweden, here everything that has a tracking number (except EMS/Express) gets relabled.
The custom here is not that bad, the workers here in my town know me allready xD What I still hate is the German mail >< Once I ordered something from the US and suddenly the tracking got stuck in custom at the airport, and after 2 weeks I called myself through ap 100 ppl to find out it was send to my custom office 2 days after it got stuck.... if I hadnīt called myself it whould have been send back.... stupid post ><
I also once got money for an uninsured package (they cut into my HLS BluRay Cover) that is marked red in my calendar xD

It's the same limit in Belgium. But a thing that irritates me more is about bpost that ask money for papers since some years ago, and it's not cheap. The last time I had to paid 10 € for custom and 12€ for papers (bepost). :grumpy

I just got e-mail back from tenso regarding the Small packet shipping method, I think it might be interesting for some ppl^^

Quote:

The insurance for an item values less than 6000 yen is free of insurance. Since the AIR (Airmail)/Registered Small Package shipment that we provide does not include insurance, that's why in case of the the item breaks or is lost, the most compensation you can get is only 6000 yen.

Pieces_of_SEVEN 14th January 2015 05:17 AM

so I've already ordered from TA shop and had it shipped to my tenso address. but now I'm trying to order love classics and it won't let me. Having the same problem as before and foolishly can't remember what I did last time to get it to work. The only field that's not being accepted is the number field. it's like 4ts-4xxxxxx and I've been trying SOO many different combinations of things and it's getting on my nerves.

Having trouble remembering what I did last time...can anyone assist? Thanks :/

chocopockymaster 14th January 2015 06:01 AM

Copy it from Tenso and paste it into the field by right-clicking to say "Paste and match to style". (If you're using Chrome.)

Alternatively, copy it into Notepad/TextEdit and make it plain text instead of rich text, then you should (hopefully) be able to paste it normally.

Aderianu 14th January 2015 07:38 AM

I copy address from sample under field and type my numbers

I am using chrome but I don't see that option when I right click...

That's interesting. Maybe it's a Mac thing? IIRC that was how I got around my issues with copying and pasting my Tenso address.

http://oi57.tinypic.com/2j29fgm.jpg

If you don't have the option to do that, I would do what was suggested above and paste the address without the numbers and then manually type them in. I think mu-mo gets fussy with half-width numbers versus full-width numbers and that's where the problem comes from.

Delirium-Zer0 14th January 2015 09:46 PM

mu-mo wants you to put this part of the address in the box: "千住曙町42-4-TS4xxxxx"

It wants the street/block information and the number - the number being in western/half-width encoding - and NOT the 転送コム part at the end.

It took me like half a dozen orders and a ton of guess-and-check to figure that out, they do NOT give proper instructions for it.

Pieces_of_SEVEN 14th January 2015 11:36 PM

Yes, finally success! Thanks guys :D
