That can't be it. She only had #1 albums from years 1999-2009 excluding 2005.

Ayumiko 31st March 2009 03:04 AM

How can the sales end up higher than the dailies total?...since its not index anymore...??? oh well...but its great its higher~

bluegie 31st March 2009 03:25 AM

Either
a) not all the stores send in the sales daily;
b) the data is not 100% accurate until they finalize it.

And the new term is "推定売上枚数", meaning "presumed copies sold". So I believe the number shown each day is not 100% accurate.

RikkuChii 31st March 2009 03:30 AM

Well..I'm glad she got another #1.

Yeah, estimated total sales.
At the end of the week while they count the overall week sales then it's the 100% number, sometimes it might be lower or higher than the total estimation.

ah I see...thanks for clearing that out. :D

Hopefully the second week's sales won't drop too much...atleast 60,000 would be nice.

kendelle 31st March 2009 03:42 AM

Great first week. This isn't counting her sales in Greater Asia, where her popularity is rising ^_^

I couldn't sell 241k albums in a week, I'm glad Ayu can in the current climate!

MY STORY was released on December 15, so it wasn't counted into the 2005 Oricon year but the 2004 year.

v3lun420 31st March 2009 05:37 AM

Yay.... the sales went up a bit. Hope She'll have a steady sales next week (fingers crossed)
IT is kinda disappoint me that NL sold less than TRICK, but eh... i'll get over it

ayu_fan929 31st March 2009 05:39 AM

The 3rd week of December of any year is always (in Oricon terms) counted as the following year.

Therefore, December 2004 = 2005 Charts. You can go look up 2005 year end charts and you'll see MY STORY.

1999 = ASFXX
2000 = Duty
2001 = A BEST
2002 = I am...
2003 = RAINBOW
2004 = Memorial address
2005 = MY STORY
2006 = (miss) understood
2007 = A BEST 2
2008 = A COMPLETE
2009 = NEXT LEVEL

sanzo2011 31st March 2009 06:04 AM

Congrats Ayu ! hope it won't drop like Trick in the second week ! ( poor Koda ~~)

jbrat2219 31st March 2009 06:06 AM

I dunno anywhere else but her popularity in HK (and probly Taiwan as well) is not rising at all. She was very popular back in the early 2000 - 2003.

Back then oricon yearly chart ended in the mid of November, so even MY STORY was released in 2004, it was counted as 2005 in oricon calendar. This is similar to the case of RAINBOW (2002) and Memorial address (2003), which were counted in 2003 and 2004 oricon calendar respectively.

Meat Pao 31st March 2009 08:47 AM

Wow it outsold GUILTY's first week! Now that's quite awesome. Now the question is whether it would outsell GUILTY's second week because GUILTY's was pretty steady. Not sure how NEXT LEVEL would fare. I'm happy for Ayu anyway~

ExodusUK 31st March 2009 08:48 AM

The sales are soooo embarrassing :( The Hikki and Namie fans must be so happy

love in music 31st March 2009 08:54 AM

ALfromHELLSING 31st March 2009 09:03 AM
