I don't mind photos of guys with naked butt or in bath, or even with erection but those photos of Manuel are pretty disgusting to me, it's not about the fact that he's naked, it's about the way he sits / poses and the angle the photos (most of them) were taken, especially those with his legs spread. Not classy at all.

With all stuff we can see in movie nowadays, I'm surprised to see all that negative reaction.

In the view of an art historian, I think there is a research in the posture to do something else than a lot of photogrpaher already made. It's contemporary art! & It's why a lot of people are quite shocking. Marcel Duchamp shocked a lot of people with his fountain too.

It's just how Leslie does his shoots. He almost ALWAYS does them [with males anyway] 95% naked. Even photos of himself, lol.

And I don't think SUPER AYU is the one that tokyoxjapanxfan saw. He saw the LOVE&HOPE/FIVE photobook with all old Leslie photos. No one has really seen what's inside the SUPER AYU boik.

I have issues with Mannie looking awkward and cheesy, and horrible in these photos.

I think you misunderstood what I said. I don't make any esthetic judgements about those photo in my comment. I don't say if they're nice or ugly. & It's not because of the comment above me that I said that.

what I mean is Leslie Kee want to innovante about the posture of the model. When he made a photo for a magazine, his work stay classic. But that kind of books is more his own book & it's why he want to do something else that nobody make before him. He does it as the pictorialist or others artists did before him. I compare his work to others contemporary art that are often provocative.

My first sentence was just a little joke to introduce my historian view & not my own taste about them.

So what make them pretty badly if the posture are common? Maybe is in that way that is innovative.
You know, I'm not a pro about photo as I had my first lessons this year. But each artist try to do something different. Sometimes its the introduction of a little thing. You can take the work of Alferd Stevens. His realism is totally common but the fact that he introduced japanese stuff make them innovative.

But as nobody seems to understand what I mean I'll just go out this thread.
