Masashi Muto...eh. His videos lately have tended to start with good concepts...but then nothing happens (*cough*missing*cough).

He was her primary director from 1998-2002 or so, I think. Most of what people think of as "Ayu PVs" were directed by him. His style is just so very clean. People should be happy with whatever he does with Sweet scar.

He also did just about all of her commercials. I think he even does them now when she has CMs?

^ But he also did Sunrise and Sunset too, yeah? I remember being really excited and then really let down lol. But I guess when using fans, you can't get too extravagant. So I'll let those two slide. :P

Oh well that's amazing news then! I certainly love all those PVs and miss the days when her PVs were like that! As opposed to the boring, nothing-at-all-happening PVs that we've been getting lately. I'm so tired of them!

Well, those PVs imo were at least very well thought out in terms of angles shot and such. Not much happened, but her fan PVs never have much going on in them except for maybe Fly high.

It was. Unfortunately, people think that he sucks because they were the last ones they saw from him, but when I think Wataru, I think RAINBOW and Free & Easy and all that. Oh, he also did decision which also underwhelmed people.

I just got SO excited now that I found out about the PV director. Now I have really high hopes for these PVs! YAY don't let me down!

Haha yeah don't worry, he has long been my favorite director. Endless sorrow, Dearest, Free & Easy, RAINBOW, Daybreak (yes, this video is gorgeous)... and so many more. :) I think there were higher budgets back then, but at least he kind of has more free range when it comes to Sweet scar than he did with Sunrise / Sunset. Although, I get huge Don't look back vibes from the ViVi pictures.

Looking at what Masashi Muto has done, I really don't -love- any of them that much. You & Me was great in the sense that it was filmed well, but all his videos are kind of incomplete feeling. Or I just don't like them. I still wish she would experiment with directors more.
