Queen of sales. It surprise me a lot the body ideals differences between Japan and the west. Flat booty won’t sell here lol
Now, time for announcing the music. I know it’s there. |

It’s easier for me, not to eat after 6 than drink water lol |
Well, that was unexpected lol Hope it sells well. Just hope there's more to come this Summer. From the clothes and colours in these pics I guess these were shot a while ago rather than her latest sessions.

Being the smart queen she is, she's promoting her last release with it (playing Work It at the event, Killer monsteR as the name giver and theme she follows). :P
Great thing with Kuu is that she's only selling things she loves to use herself. Which is why she's also using her own stuff. Here she's even saying she basically produced this for herself as she dislikes doing training outside of her work ( and loves eating :D ). Probably the reason her products and also her merchandise is usually great quality. She's also intoducing a regular day schedule for herself. Having voice training, sleeping 8 hours every night and making breakfast/bentos for the family like she already mentioned in the past, good girl. :laugh |
Koda Kumi produces diet supplement 'KILLER BURNER'

This's not mentioned here but the contact lenses that Kuu wore at the KILLER BURNER launch event , she tagged Loveil on her Instagram feed |
I honestly don’t like the customer approach strategy they are using here. They are trying to sell it like a miracle pill that you take and automatically gives you the body of your dreams. No supplement ever is going to work like that, and if it does it’s dangerous. Your body needs exercise and nutrition (as well as other factors too) in order to reach your goals, supplements can and do help (sometimes a lot), but they don’t work alone on their own.
Sorry, I had to say it lol Where’s the summer single queen? :weep |
^ Exactly my thoughts as well. I don't buy the "I don't train" comment when she said during the first Covid lockdown that she was doing a lot of Pilates to maintain her figure since she couldn't go out..... it just makes me really sad that she thought "in order to be loved" she had to lose weight, but I get that it's the entertainment industry we're talking about here. :/
|
She started Pilates in the lockdown, cause she was a lot at home and barely had any work, never did it before - she said that, too.
And actually you don't need exercise to loose weight. It helps, especially if you usually don't do sports. But most of it comes from how and what you eat. I agree that the marketing is quite aggressive, they spent a lot of money for it obviously. But Kuu does speak about to incoporate it in a healthy regular schedule, announcing her own and saying what else she does. So I would take it with a grain of salt, it's just marketing. It's like with everything, you should still make your own out of it. |
Diet & exercise go hand in hand together
You can exercise so much but if you eat nothing but crap then it defeats the whole purpose of everything Also walking is free & you don't need to be confined in a gym Any diet supplement that's made available , it's not a quick solution let alone a substitute to weight loss I've been there done that & it wasn't pretty That said , with Kuu coming up with her own diet supplement , it's a bit coming back full circle for her ? Especially since in the early days of her being in the business she used to be mercilessly fat shamed by the Japanese media :s And look at her now |
No, I just had personal training for a half a yeat. You specifically don't need excercise to get a good body. 80% is made in kitchen - sports just benefits it and helps you to maintain it.
|
Kuu also is constantly dancing and that burns a lot of calories. I consider that a form of exercise.

Body image is very skewed here and I don't believe she was "fat" back then. |
The size 0 concept that the media promoted a decade ago or so was madness
I don't know how that concept was received in Japan but it doesn't mean you're thin , you will be happy mentally A thin person could have more health issues than a fat but healthy person The current generation's more accepting of people will come in all different shapes & sizes unlike the previous generation (during the generation of my parents) that some of them still have the notion that thin = healthy which to me it's not true The type of mental abuse Kuu went through in the early days of her career was terrible & no 1 should go through what she did I hope over the years her perception on health has changed for the better & I'm sure after she became a mum , all the horrible crap she went through , all of that became secondary |
In all seriousness, poor Kuu. In my opinion she looked way better on her early days (body wise) than she does now on those pics. Body shaming is real, being “too” on either side of the spectrum can lead to some serious mental stuff.
|
Hm, I'd be careful with judging.
She might be the healthiest she's ever been now or the contrary, we don't know. As long as she feels comfortable and healthy, I don't see a problem with any of her looks. And honestly I actually thought she meant more that she learned to look after her appearance in her career, to be loved by fans and public, not so much privately. Remember she had a loving boyfriend when that bodyshaming happened back then, who supported her through all of it no matter how she looked, like she always emphasized in interviews and Koda Reki. Also it's nothing new with her. She always talked about how she's always gaining weight when work is slow ( no release, no tour etc, so no training at work), cause she dislikes exercising at home/in her free time and doesn't do much and so has to lose that weight again when work is picking up again. Guess last year when Covid striked it was a somewhat painful realisation she has to do something at least at home without having work training, lol. |
This is one area where Japan has been, and continues to be, a bit backwards. The market is saturated with gizmos and gadgets and pills to lose weight, or slim your calves, or this or that. Ku is a product of that environment for sure.
So let's stop trying to make excuses for her or infer what she means by doing this. From a Western perspective the things she is saying are sad and irresponsible, but she is a Japanese artist in Japan doing something that is very normal there. It's totally fine for those of us outside of Japan to call it out as toxic and hope that Japan may one day move in a healthier direction. |
^I don't see anything toxic in promoting a fat-burner pill. Even in germany we have that on TV. the product itself says it does need a healthy diet (and exercise if possible) tho. I bet this one does too, and what i read from Corvinas translation, even Kumi admits that in these interviews.

Kuu posted in her stories that we should keep ourselves free tomorrow around 10 p.m. JST.
She doesn't say what for. Maybe another Insta live? |
