Most new American singles I see in stores are one or two-trackers and usually never have instrumentals... x_x

I don't really listen to instrumentals. Vocal tracks would be nice.

its bcoz theres no market for singles in america so if they spent money making remixes, they would go broke...

DJs will make their own remixes for the clubs. Yeah singles don't sell well outside the east asian mkt

The tracklists can get small as just 2 or even 1 song as long as the track is REALLY worth it. Like hikki's Dareka no Negai ga Kanau Koro, just 2 tracks but completely worth it.

If she releases something as good as SEASONS. I wouldn't mind swallowing a 2 track single. If fact I'd swallow it happily.

MISIA's "Namae no nai sora wo miagete" is a 2 tracker. Great song, doesn't stop it from hitting the top 5.

But seriously, quit it guys. 1 remix less won't hurt you people. In fact, I think the less Ayu gets remixed, the better - it may be all the remixing that's causing people to turn away from her music, although I won't say much on that.
Although I wish avex would lower the price of the single a little, to say 1020 yen. Ah well, bloodsuckers will be bloodsuckers.

If Avex is doing this because of worse single sales, then this is just gonna make single sales EVEN worse. Not many people in their right mind would buy a single for a remix or the instrumental...

Many 3" singles in the past have managed to become million sellers. And most 3" singles are 2 or 3 trackers, it's all about the quality of the feature song.

Of course it's gonna sell well if the song is good...but apart from classics like M or SEASONS, the only times Ayu have sold well so far is by stuffing the single full of A-sides and remixes and whatnot. But that's not possible anymore. Unless she can pump out another M or something her single sales are only gonna dwindle and dwindle...

I'm just hoping that this won't be a continuing trend, as I REALLY like her remixes. I have one thought...maybe this single was already all planned out when the "Avex Incident" happened, so they went through with it...and maybe they'll start to beef up their singles a bit more after this?

I haven't been buying the singles lately anyway...I find they're completely not worth it. I'll buy the album, I'll definitely buy a remix/AO CD if they release another, and I'll buy the singles if they make it worth it.

Three tracks are not worth it to me, no matter how good the song, reason being the cost to get it shipped over here. If I could walk into a CD store at the local mall and pick it up, I still might get it, but that's a no-no. I mean, $10+ for a single that already isn't worth it, plus $5+ to ship the bugger? I don't think so.
