I'm so happy for Ayu! It's really hard to believe.. but Ayu is a grown women who knows what she wants in her life. She wouldn't marry Mannie unless she really loves him and knows it's going to work out. I honestly think they fell in love~ :)

I never heard any rumour about Tomoya Nagase that involves drugs, so I don't believe it. Mika Noguchi is another story, though.

I thought about what you wrote here, and if it's the possible reason why I felt so skeptical about it, but it's not. If Ayu slows down because she is getting married I'm all for it, my sentiments were always that she works too much and too hard. So it weren't any selfish reasons, at least for me. I'm getting used to the idea and I think they are a cute couple. It came as a shock at first - but I'm slowly coming around. I still think it's too early, but who am I to judge if they BOTH feel it's the right thing to do? He obviously also wants to marry her! So I believe in both of them, and I hope that it will all work out. They live in the here and now, and sometimes just doing it, is just the right thing to do. It would be great if they will get children one day. :luv2

I'm so happy for both Ayu and for Mannie... :) both are such wonderful human beings!!! In a few years I hope babies will come along :)

alot of people are questioning her love because it feels rushed, but love knows no bounds. she chose Mannie for the PVs for a reason, she saw something she liked in him and it's gone farther than we thought. :yes there is no reason to doubt Ayu or to dislike Mannie at all. Ayu has trusted us and dedicated everything to her fans for the past 12 years, and now she has chosen to take the next big step in her life because she feels it's right. we need to do nothing else but support her and be happy for her.

^ I was speculating on them talking before the Virgin Road PV filming. :P The article confirmed that Ayu saw his audition video and picked him herself, but I'm guessing that they did talk for a while before meeting in Los Angeles.

So far the only things that have been confirmed are Mannie's audition video, Ayu choosing him herself to act in the PV, both of them meeting in person for the first time during the Virgin Road PV shoot, both of them dating at night while in LA back in November, Ayu talking to Avex in December about getting married, Ayu's not pregnant and will continue working, no wedding date yet, and that both of them will be traveling back and forth to Los Angeles and Tokyo. Everything else in my last post was just my guesses on how all of this happened. ;)

well I was shocked at first, but now I am happy that Ayu found someone whom she wishes to share her life. I so wish Ayu will be happy in the future, and I think it wouldn't be bad for her, she would take a little break too (maybe) and then come back with sth awsome again ^^, other singers made it, so why not wish her the best for this and hope it lasts ^^^

I was reading one of the CDL threads and was like "what the...?" when I noticed people mentioning her getting married, so I came over here and....wow! I go away for the weekend and come back to such awesome news!

I still can't really believe it. Though I think it's based on the fact that I thought of Ayu as a sort of woman that wouldn't get married, have a kid through artificial insemination (or adopt) when she was 35-ish, and then just sing until she died at around 85. =P

I can't assimilate this so easily. She had a serious relationship for 7 years with Nagase, and there weren't nothing about getting married.. and now, after a few months with Mannie.. a wedding.

For the love of god, 2 days ago I didn't believe that they could be together.. I thought they were simply friends. Good friends.-
And yesterday I discovered that not only they are together, but they're gonna be wife and husband!!

I'm still shocking, but also happy! I fell in love the first time I saw Mannie, in Virgin Road PV xDD

(In fact, I remember that when I saw that final scene of them hugging each other once the shooting ended, I got excited too much thinking "wow, this guy looks so good with ayu!" xD)

But well, ayu have found in Mannie a true love (if not, she wouldn't be getting married), and we have to respect it. And, of course, show her our support =)

No I did not say that I knew or that I'm sure of that. I just told that that's the general story I hear when japanese ppl talk about Nagase. That and "thank god they broke up, he was really bad for her!" Now, naturally neither me or them nor you know the real story. But I just told what I get to hear veeery often. Also then I have been told that Mannie is a very nice person and he feels more like it too. But naturally, I really don't know. (And just to add, no I am not talking about the Avex drug scandal thingy that happend 1-2 years ago so.)

Honestly, just the fact that she was so openly flirting with him on twitter was a HUGE hint. Japanese rarely express their private feelings publicly like that, especially not high profile celebrities. So when she did, I thought it was a strong possibility she must be totally head over heals in love with him.

the whole situation remind me of the movie "Notting Hill" Ayu's like Julia Robert there and I think in this relationship Ayu's is the one that made the move first unlike her previous relationship wih Nagase.

I remember she said sumwhere that on the start of her relationship w/ nagase, when she took 1 step backward Nagase will take 10 steps towards her.. she's more like the passive side.. now maybe she's found the one it's different
