- Mannie I am pregnant
- Will you marry me?
- Oh I have to write about it on Team ayu!

That's what I thought when I first read the news. Because not too long ago Ai Otsuka randomly announced on her website that she got married, and then BAM! she was pregnant. Someone said Avex confirmed that she's not pregnant, but I don't care what they say I think she's pregnant and this is a shotgun wedding they just don't wanna say she's pregnant so it wont seem so shotgunny, that's what I think.

Considering the multi-million dollar brand built around "ayumi hamasaki," I highly doubt she'd change her name. Plus, yeah, "Ayumi Schwarz" is kind of gross.

He should change his name to Manuel Hamasaki.

kagami 1st January 2011 10:39 PM

^It would be pretty stupid to say she's not pregnant if she actually is to save face, she'd start showing really very soon anyway. Besides, I don't think Ayu is the type to get married just because she's pregnant.

NintendoHTF1242 1st January 2011 10:40 PM

UGH Ayu can change her damn last name but leave "ayumi hamasaki" as her stage name. She doesn't have to change it to ~ayumi Schwarz~ or whatever. And besides, doesn't the bride obtain the male's last name? So he can't change his name to Manuel Hamasaki unless I missed out on something about marriage.

In which backward-country are you living? It's the decision of the couple to keep their names, get doublenames or choose the last ame of EITHER person.

Oh I fail lol. Thanks for correcting me XD I thought the bride was ~forced~ to take the male's last name.

So, if this would be real news and not marketing strategy, I wonder why Ayu has changed her mind that drastically. What could be more private and important for the future than a marriage?

Just saying...

That came to my mind too. I think when your "secrets" are embarrassing or you don't feel comfy talking about them, they'll end on an answer like ayu gave in that interview.
But when you find a true love, that kind of love that makes you feel happy all the time, you kinda forget about that stuff and more likely feel to share your hapiness. That's what I think ^^

hell yea! my bday! XD!

AyUta 1st January 2011 10:57 PM

I hope she announces it very soon on her twitter or TA! :heart I already told my best friend, because I'm super excited! XD

I genuinely don't believe this, but if I had to pick a reason for them getting married other than them being, I dunno... PASSIONATELY IN LOVE... I'd choose this one. Much more believable than a marketing strategy. /eyeroll

Except Japanese cannot become American citizens without renouncing their Japanese citizenship, and she will definitely not do that. It would lead to too many hardships, and she would most likely lose a lot of her fanbase.

Very polite of you to say Ayu's making up something like this for the lulz. She promised that she'd let TA know a year ago when something like this would happen and she did.

I'm a bit confused, because my aunt said that she got married last night, and Ayu did say "I will become a bride in 2011," so maybe they got married at midnight? O_____O I'm just confused, is she married yet or isn't she? :laugh

oneheart 2nd January 2011 02:54 AM

Naw, she just announced she's getting married :)

OMG! she needs to upload a picture of her engagement ring!!!!

Seriously, the more I think about this, the happier I am for her and Manuel. I don't really have a preference for the type of wedding; more than that, I want them to have a long, happy life together. :love:love
