She has had time for vacations yes... I think thats what she has been doing last week (in Hawaii).
But there is a different from taking time off which nothing planned for who knows how long and then taking a weekend off and having to jump right back into work.

That's undeniable, still being an artist/performer is a job. People go on for 30-40 years working without a 6 months break. The majority of people have to work at least 8-9 hrs a day every day with 20 days off/year. Regular people don't really get to take six months off either :)

But being an artist/performer is not an everyday job. She probably loves every minute of it, and doesn't need a break. If she did, she would have definitely already take one.

But I dont know if I could compare a regular 9-5 job (at least in america) with a touring schedule... lol. Or constantly being bombarded with camera in their face and all the other hassles of being a megastar.

Im not saying she needs a break like that, but I think it would do her some good to break away from the music business and just be her for sometime.

i love party queen album, especially "LETTER" track.

I'm fine with her rest thought, I can enjoy her old songs or other artists.

Everyone used to tell her to take a break you're working so hard, but then when she really did everyone like "WHY U HAVE NO NEW SINGLE?"

Since her 15th Anniversary is next year, I think she'll comeback to work next year. (3 New Singles for her Best Album and Asia Tour or World Tour *finger crossed*)

I am still not sure why people want her to release another best of album...we don't really need one.

I'm not really craving new material from her at all. I want a summer single because, it's like that's what happens after the album is here right...lol

For me Best Album is the only thing for her that can pass 500k since 2009?
She needs something to make a big WOW in the market right now since the albums that can passed million are boy band/girl group things. :/

I'd be hypocrite to say that I wouldn't like another million selling album, but I'm not freaking out about it. Her sales are dramatically low compared to her peak, but she's on business since 14 years and she's doing well now imo. See Party Queen: (almost) zero promotion and it sold 140k. I was expecting 50k copies or less lol.

She's just lacking of good promotion.
Tales of Xilia is her best tie-in since ages, Tales of it's not a huge game like FF but it's not an unknown chinese drama neither lol.
She's doing less and less magazine photoshoots and her last CM appereance are lacking too. Maybe that's why people often thought she's retired or something and then care less of her music other than classics as Boys&Girls and SEASONS.

And releasing a best album now would be useless imo. Although I'm expecting a A summer collection by avex, someday :rolleyes (and I'll buy it :roflmao)

i don't get the "omg she needs to take a year break!!", you guys act like she's a migrant Chinese factory worker working 20 hours a day for $200 a month. people like nurses and fire fighters don't take year long breaks and they work 200% harder than ayu does and I'm sure ayu wouldn't argue with that. Research the Japanese work ethnic and business culture and please try to respect that - my Japanese friend always says that "Japanese live to work, not work to live". Beside she lives a life of luxury, has more money than anyone here could dream of, has loyal staff members to pander to her every whim and probably wipes her ass with 1000 yen notes.
This is her dream, she's living an amazing life and has achieved stuff that only 1 in a million people get to experience..why would she want to take a break from that? like she said music is her life, without music and singing it's like she die (or something to that effect). is that what u people want?

Maybe some people need to take a break from Ayu and not the other way round..
