Anyway, I really liked that MV, but to me it doesn't fit the 1st description that Linao made :
Reading this, the video of "It's Raining Men" came to my mind, with dance auditions, etc. But in the end, a lot of elements in the synopsis is full of heavy insinuations. And then, we see Jolin dressed as a man "sort of" only a few seconds at the end. I think it would have been interesting te see the guy and Jolin dance together, the man as the female and vice-versa.
But I admit that the dance in the dark with the projections on each other's body is very beautiful and aesthetical.

Well, to be honest I didn't post every detail I read in the article. I guess I should have mentioned in the description that his inner/true self in this MV was him embracing his feminine side.
And Jolin was showing her masculine side, that's why she's wearing a suit and has thicker eyebrows.
She wanted to break down stereotypes linked to gender with this MV.

I think it's better that the focus is mainly on the guy because men/boys are way more stigmatised than women/girls when they like something considered "girly" or not very manly.
Like yesterday for instance Jolin posted a link to an article on her Facebook related to this (with a "be yourself / who you want to be" message) about a 12 y-o Californian kid who killed himself because he was mocked as he was part of a cheerleader team.
It reminded me of this kid who attempted suicide since his schoolmates were mocking him because he liked My Little Pony (the animation series).

I didn't want to say your description was totally OT, but it was (to me) a little too detailed regarding what really happens in the MV (we indeed understand it's an audition with the poster of Jolin at the beginning, but it's not clear the boy has a "hidden side" : we see him dancing with pantyhoses and suspenders from the very beginning, and finally we don't understand that Jolin is actually judging him till the very end.)
But it's just my personal feeling. I quite understand the concept of this MV and I 100% agree with it.

Oh! I totally agree. When I saw the MV I thought the same thing. The story's description was quite detailed in articles and in the MV he strips as soon as he gets in the room lol

By the way, am I the only one who feels that several MVs from PLAY convey more serious messages than usual?

I recently downloaded Play from iTunes and it's the first Jolin album I've ever purchased. I had intended to look into getting one of her albums years ago but I think I was too lazy to sign up to YesAsia lol.

Anyway, I'm really enjoying Play!

Yeah, I fancy a physical copy but might wait in case there is a repackage with all the PVs.

Usually repackages are released a month after the original release of the album, but once Jolin released a repackage 2 months and a half later (Myself's repackage "Myself 4D" with 2 CDs and 2 DVDs).
I think they're waiting for all MVs to be released or for I'm Not Yours MV to be released to release it. Asian fans are indeed really looking forward to the MV with Namie...

It's the "weird song" that no one likes. In surveys about PLAY Gentlewomen is always at the bottom.
