Makeup can look way different though, she's not wearing much color, and it being so light in combination with the light makes her face so flat. Not complementing, "Ew" is a quite good word in comparison to other pictures of her where she's simply gorgeous. If I had never seen Ayu before though, I'd probably think that the girl in those pictures is pretty good looking, in a weird way.

I think that it's because Ayu has her offdays in terms of makeup / fashion design via her wardrobe-provisions..

Koda Kumi's not that bad without "makeup" Ayu looks shocking, like an old lady. Koda Kumi only seems to wear alot of eye makeup... but that's fine, she's asian and wants to look caucasian. What's wrong with that?

Similar to Ayu, both artists have pretty thick foundation(makeup), its not just the eyes only.

I think Ayu is using much more make up than before, she's getting older so it cannot help. But when she was the same age than Kumi, she didn't use so much (not as much like Kumi)

in these pictures without her makeup, she looks her age. much older....hmm if she keeps putting on so much makeup all the time there will be signs of makeup scars ohnoo O_O

I wouldn't say she looks ALOT older, but she looks older than she normally does (like 22 - 24 to me). Here she looks like 26 - 27! I still think she looks really great for her age!!!

All I have to add right now is that this is the reason I don't wear lots of makeup all the time....people will get used to my "makeup face" so when they see my "no makeup face" they would be like "ugh!" It's better to get people used to your "no makeup face" =)

Ayumi was discovered without make up (she used to hate wearing it ne? ) and she doesn't look that bad without it even now.

Koda still looks better without make up in that picture than she did in those youth videos. :tired
