They Better Do A TON Of Promotion If They Want This To Do Well After All These Delays! And So What If The First Song Doesn't Do Extremely Well? Not Many Artists Get A Hit With There First Song. And The Ones That Do End Up As 1 hit Wonders.

jbrat2219 11th November 2008 03:35 AM

Jeez, it sucks that it's delayed! D:

This doesn't look good for BoA ><;

Tom Punks 11th November 2008 03:44 AM

How considerate of them to delay it RIGHT when I was getting pumped up to try and search for it tomorrow. -_-

Raleigh 11th November 2008 06:42 AM

Gee.. somehow they keep delaying everything.

[taskin.ayu] 11th November 2008 09:07 AM

She's not with some American company for this, she's with SM USA. D: Isn't she their only artist? XDDD I don't see a reason to cancel or delay a release due to lack of popularity. D:

Unfortunately for you, it really isn't. Gay supporters are more loyal, supportive, and less likely to track off to the next thing.

Gays love to build a diva hero up and maintain their status for years to come.

Cher. Diana. Donna. Madonna. Britney.

Regarding the delay: I saw it coming. They haven't done much to get her name out. An interview with a fangirl who mostly kissed up to BoA would turn me off, had I not already known BoA.

They should have thought about a joint venture with a record label in the states that has pull with writers, producers, and pr.

Did they follow through with playing her videos on NY and CA? What is this about a photographer being harrassed?

Melon Panda 11th November 2008 05:24 PM

I'm guessing fans didn't like the "provocative" photos taken of BoA, so they complained on his MySpace. Honestly, though - the photographer is just doing his/her job. It's SM Entertainment that's pulling the strings.

Her debut's not looking up with all these delays. There's a chance everything will work out, but who knows?

aqua_crystal 11th November 2008 05:51 PM

More promotion delays???? Oww.... :( SM hasn't timed this very well.... I just hope BoA's sales don't suffer because of this....

haikudasai 11th November 2008 06:07 PM

She's a woman now and some fans really need to let go. These picky fans will probably bring on her downfall in the states since her music won't be like her Asian music.

AyUta 13th November 2008 02:38 AM

DELAYED?!?! Are you kidding me? This is horrible. Another delay....what is SM doing? What's going on in their little minds :weep I was just going to go over to Best Buy and buy the single, then I see this. Now I gotta go tell my uncle to cancel the trip there. Now I have to wait...again. This really sucks lol Wonder how long we all have to wait now.

darkcarousel 13th November 2008 02:45 AM

I agree with all of you.
Another delay? Come on.

Beauty4123 13th November 2008 03:45 AM

watch the album get delayed next. :irked

Sundae 13th November 2008 03:59 AM

It's not that bad since America doesn't really buy singles in physical form anyway. They buy albums instead and singles/songs are released to support the sales of the album. They didn't give a reason or a new date so maybe they decided to go the regular way. She still has that performance on the YouTube Live event. That should be interesting.

Delirium-Zer0 13th November 2008 04:47 AM

And the promo's already been pressed, that'll probably get sent to radio & everything, and people will most likely buy the song on iTunes if they like it. Honestly they're probably postponing things until they're sure the album is ready, and then they'll do heavier promotion just before its release, cuz that's when the hype will be necessary. Her US career is gonna be like most US careers & center around the album.

Let's compare her to another recent US female solo debut. Katy Perry. Katy Perry had a single before "I Kissed A Girl," and most casual radio listeners probably aren't even aware of it, since "I Kissed A Girl" is the one that got attention - and even that took a good month or so after its release to happen.

"Eat You Up" might not be a gigantic hit - but maybe the next single will. In any case, NOTHING much is gonna happen until closer to the album's release (maybe not until after), because that's just how the industry works here.

Melon Panda 13th November 2008 05:17 AM

I wish SM USA would just release Eat You Up, let it run its course, and get on with the next single. It's no good putting all of BoA's eggs in one basket (Eat You Up, in this case).

(Note: image description: boa_bday)

Korean pop star BoA is gearing up for her U.S. launch beginning with a move to the West Coast. The singer, who recently relocated to Los Angeles, is assembling an all-star team of producers and songwriters for her English-language debut album, scheduled for release next year.

Producers/songwriters Brian Kennedy (Rihanna’s “Disturbia”) and Sean Garrett (Beyoncé’s “Ring the Alarm”) are already on board, while a remix to “Eat You Up” featuring Flo Rida has been recorded and will be released in the coming month. The Bloodshy & Avant-produced first single is available now on iTunes.

BoA celebrated her 22nd birthday last week with a packed event at Los Angeles hotspot Zune LA.

I don't know if this was posted before, but this is also an article from Rap-Up:

More about her birthday:

BoA’s 22nd birthday was on November 5. In order to advance in the U.S., she is staying in a suburb of Los Angeles and was seen on November 6, a day after her birthday, at 7pm located in a Los Angeles restaurant bar at “ZUNE,” holding a “BoA Birthday Party & Listening Party.”

While preparing for American activities, BoA’s first U.S. interview was with Sidewalks TV. Based on the internet in San Francisco, Sidewalks TV in the past has interviewed Mary J Blige, Green Day, Shaquille O’Neal, Hulk Hogan, Marcia Cross, as well as other famous singers, movie stars, and sports stars.

BoA was introduced to Sidewalks TV as an international pop star with her “Eat You Up” music video. The interview included her introduction, and her goals for the future which look bright. Because of her devotion to studying, this has showed that BoA has skillfully advanced in her English to become fluent.

Pretty incorrect general statement to make.
