I feel that KAT-TUN are going to be the next Kinki Kids in the aspect of most consecutive #1 singles / #1 albums.

In terms of most consecutive #1 singles, I've been curious recently, and does anyone have a list or something of the Top artists who have had the most #1 consecutive singles? (besides Kinki Kids obviously). Like, who has the 2nd most, 3rd most... etc.

That chart will be interesting.. how many no1 singles do ayu have

she has 31 #1 singles in which 19 of them are straight excluding Rule / Sparkle as of now

I searched throughout google, but I couldn't find anything on Japanese artist/groups with most consecutive #1 singles.

So far, we know:

Kinki Kids - 28
Ayumi Hamasaki - 19


There might be one or two artists in-between them, or no??? Hmm...

I dunno how many NEWS and KAT-TUN have, but they certainly can be added to the list, since they seem to keep getting consecutive #1 singles. ^^

NEWS - excluding NEWS Nippon , they have 10 #1 straight no.s since Kibou ~Yell~

KAT-TUN - they have 8 straight #1 since debut single Real Face & they prob be adding 2 more in the bag in due time

KinKi Kids has 28 straight #1 since debut single Glass no Shounen , a record that has not been broken since they debuted 12 years ago

ayumi's straight streak started from Free & Easy onwards

Wait, didn't Ayumi Hamasaki surpass Seiko's consecutive #1 singles a few years ago? Or was that the Most #1 singles? (regardless of consecutive or not) I'm unsure now, lol.

that should be most #1 singles for a female solo act that ayumi has taken over from Seiko

consecutive streak not yet , Seiko has 27 straight #1's if I'm not mistaken

seiko matsuda has 24 consecutive #1 singles XD.

I hope she makes it. If her popularity doesn't completely die this year and next year, she ought to be able to reach it, if not surpass it.

Ok, so I made a new list of artists/groups with most consecutive #1 singles:

Kinki Kids - 28
Seiko Matsuda - 24
Ayumi Hamasaki - 19
NEWS - 10
KAT-TUN - 8

Kinki Kids first entered the Guiness Book of Records in 2003 for most consecutive #1 singles by ANY artist/group in ANY country.

To be honest, over the years, I have heard nothing about B'z having a lot of #1 consecutive singles, so, I dunno about them having that many. :shrug

I don't know for B'z but KK went into the Guiness Book Of Records as it's because of the fact that they have straight #1 singles since their debut

that probably doesn't apply to B'z , let alone Mr.Children . I could be wrong about it though

KK still have a very big fanbase in Japan, so I don't think their #1 consecutive singles will end anytime soon.

according to wiki,They have released 41 consecutive #1 singles from total 45 singles

This week hasn't really been that interesting at all on the charts. :/

Wait until KAT-TUN come out with their new single, then it will get interesting again! ^^

I am waiting to see how BoA will do with Eien and of course Ayu with Rule/Sparkle. The only release I care about this week is AAA's album.
