So? Koda had all of her songs from her debut on BEST~first things and it sold great, but that doesn't mean people cared for her music much prior to Secret era. It's a fact Namie was far from being ultra popular until Queen of Hip Hop was released (and after her 90's peak) and sure there were people who admired her and loved her even at that time, those were mostly her hard core fans though, it's far from what she has atm, BEST FICTION didn't sell because her 2003-2005 songs were purely amazing, but because of the success of her previous 2 studio albums and 60s70s80s single and of course the fact that she managed to get popular again.

I'm sorry, but her 2003-2005 singles/songs were amazing, imo they are 100x times better than WILD/Dr. =/ Not to mention that her previous alb were Queen Of Hip Pop(2005) and PLAY(2007) and 3 SONGs from 60s70s80s can't make more than 1millions ppl buy BEST FICTION, they r not crazy =/
I bought BEST FICTION because I didn't buy Queen of Hip Pop(2005) and Style(2003). Have u listened to them all? =/
Anyway what are u trying to say to me? I didn't reply that post to u =/ please stop this never end discussion.

I was just saying that you can't possibly know why the people were buying the album, once and for all - amazing sales don't mean the music is actually amazing - as it's the matter of taste, some of the songs on BF are far from amazing IMO. Don't generalize things based on your personal opinions. The fact is Namie Amuro did not release stuff as often as Ayu did.

=/ Okay, so when Ayu get some high sales, her previous alb for example, I have my right to thing that "amazing sales don't mean the music is actually amazing" right? I don't think so.
And u think because "the fact is Namie Amuro did not release stuff as often as Ayu did" so BEST FICTION sales well? =/ That's how Ayu fans think too? Just to prove that "Oh god that ***** Namie just got her luck and Ayu is the only one who deserver some good thing?"
U don't like Namie, it's ok, but BEST FICTION were deserved its sales, stop putting your hate into it.

Don't put words in my mouth. I didn't say BF sold because she didn't release often as that would be dumb. The fact is, she was less present on the market than Ayu.

I like Namie Amuro, among many I have nothing against her, her music lacks depth in my opinion, but she is in my top 10 artists on last.fm nevertheless. I don't believe in a word "deserve" when it comes to sales, it's as individual as taste in music. Yes you are free to say what you think about Ayu's music it's your opinion/taste and no one can take it from you.

SURREAL__RAINBOW 28th August 2009 03:57 PM

sorry but was it me who started the best fiction vs AC thing?? I'm sorry if I started it all xD

I hope people just back off a little.

I belive in a word "deserve" when it comes to everything.
With me, I still think that S/S deserve this low sale comparing to the last amazing Rule/Sparkle. Imo It sales bad because it's not good enough. Not because of any reason like the economic problem/ Ayu release so often or because of this is the era of Digital sale.

@ Etsuya: It's totally not your fault dear.^^

Well I am sorry but if you really think like that than you are pretty naive. Think as you wish, the world isn't really a place in which we all get what we deserve - that would be too ideal.

keikeiaznqueen 28th August 2009 04:08 PM

I don't get how Best Fiction got dragged into this. It's not so much about who "deserves" the sales than it is about who happens to be better hyped right now. Ayu's been there, done that, and isn't the main topic of discussion for youngsters nowadays, really. She still is very popular, but she hasn't had a real "hit" recently. Namie, on the other hand, had 60s70s80s which was very popular and was enough to make people who were previously uninterested interested again.

Although njanjayrp is right that Namie was suddenly very popular again more recently, I do think that RockyRaven has a good point about how people bought Best Fiction because they didn't buy her previous two albums (because that was before 60s70s80s and people probably weren't as aware.) It makes sense that people would buy Best Fiction to make up for that.

Not everyone that works hard and "deserves" good sales gets it. With great packaging and marketing as well as a kickass tie-in, a lot of songs can be hits.

Yeap it moved up like expected... it will for the rest of the week and then a big drop again~ hahaha

And wow what's BEST FICTION's sales? The scans are gorgeous (I saw them hehe) and I'm quite tempted to take a listen... Well hopefully A COMPLETE would be nearer to BEST FICTION's sales cos that would be a good thing too. :)

:yes you are very right, and I agree with everything you said.
I could say that I think one of my favourite artists works very hard and makes amazing music, however they may not sell well. I think they 'deserve' it, but unfortunately they just may not be as popular as the artists that sell well.
Like for instance I really love the S/S single and wished more people would feel the same way, however I can't change it :P

I'm happy with the sales though!!

Ha, I like this. I don't understand why people don't just delete their accounts and leave.

Neither do I tbh. Probably cuz there's not really a j-music forum that can hold a candle to AHS. :P

I'm an I am... initiate!!! :D

jbrat2219 29th August 2009 04:23 AM

A COMPLETE sold the amount it did because a lot of people bought it... BEST FICTION sold more because more people bought it lol. Let's just leave it at that.

brener 29th August 2009 06:57 AM

96,5kby now!! That's great!!

Meat Pao 29th August 2009 07:06 AM

You guys should stop the BF-AC argument cuz this is after all a thread for S/S 's sales LOL.
