Spoiler:

tell me why tell me why
i don't know i don't know
i can't tell you why (???)

Change is what's very fine
but it doesn't mean losing yourself

It has a point
only if you keep yourself looking at your dreams here. (???)

Certainly there were days
that I felt the limit, turned my back to everything, and crouched.

I won't get lost
There'll be no regret

It was my destiny that I meet up with you.

The reason of my being
and the reason of my existing
the one who gives them and teaches them to me is always YOU
and that's why

tell me why tell me why
i don't know i don't know
i can't tell you why (???)

However sometimes
I feel hatred that makes me not want to see your face
I even hope that your face would never come into my sight
Nevertheless I can't step away
After all I want you first by my side anytime.

???

It was a consequent that I meet up with you.

???

I know that without you I'm not ME

Should there be a perfect melody,
I wouldn't like to meet up with it yet.

I won't get lost
There'll be no regret

It was my destiny that I meet up with you.

The reason of my being

:smitten LYRICS!!! Very Ayu-like :yes :heart

I really find those albums to be nice, but sometimes I feel like her MY STORY/(miss)understood work outshines it at times...

Hm, since she's mentioned the Future Classics / Rock'n'Roll Circus tour connection, I really do hope that the songs chosen aren't going to be the same at all, haha. Like, I am... and a few other songs can carry over, but please, Ayu, try to keep things fresh at the very least!

I definitely think this album, and this tour to go with it, is going to have a very fresh and new feeling, despite she saying that she's going back to the beginning.

MY STORY and (miss)understood, for me, are like gems of her career. Some people will say that anything after Memorial Address was rubbish and stuff like that, but she just got better and better for me. Those are just two albums that I can listen to from beginning to end with no worries, without pickyness and all that.

I guess for hopes for the new tour...I do believe there's a thread somewhere that should be revived in which people were coming up with their dream setlists. The second the setlist for the new tour is out I want to go back to mine and compare...self-centred maybe (lol) but I'd really like to see if she's carried over any of the ones I love and think will fit with the tour.

truehappiness 23rd March 2010 02:35 AM

Haha, usually I leave the setlist creating up to Ayu since with Ayu it's kind of unpredictable except for the usual staples of evolution/SURREAL/UNITE!/Boys&Girls/etc...

I've never done the sort of thing of making up my own setlist, mostly because I've never been here just when a tour was announced or about to start, or maybe I just never paid that much attention. But this time I gave it a shot and it was good fun.

Two attempts at transcribing from Livedoor.

This song definitely sounds like Yuta Nakano arranged it.

waterballoon 23rd March 2010 03:16 AM

So... I've been listening to Microphone and fell more in love with the arrangement. <3 I could understand if -anyone- doesn't like the song though; the song actually does sound a little monotonous, but that's fine by me.

IMO, the greatest aspects of this song isn't the melody; it's the genius arrangement, and her strong vocals.

emi♡ 23rd March 2010 03:26 AM

^I think you're right...well, like for me, I think the melody is alright most of the song...but the little weird scale she does for the verses at the beginning is kinda...eh for me...I didn't feel her voice was strongest there either...

but it's only for a few seconds and then it's awesome lol

She brought back the keys <3 <3 <3

I wonder how this song will go down with the Japanese audiences.

If it were out/announced, this thread would probably be filled already, haha.

This. If it weren't for the awesome heavy guitar and epic organs, I wouldn't like it even half as much. The actual melody isn't anything amazing; it's nothing real catchy or creative. But everything else about the song is near genius, hah. So it makes up for it, I think.
Like, this is one of those songs that I'll get the urge to listen to, and I'll just sit in wonder at the wonderful instruments used and such, and I'll enjoy just listening to her vocals (which are really good). I'll love it and love to listen to it because it's so different sounding, and because it has such an awesome feel (and probably because it has one of the best PVs in her discography, hah :O). But it won't be something I have on repeat for hours straight, because the actual song isn't mind-blowing.

rainydayumi 23rd March 2010 04:07 AM

i love the melodies, its strong too. the arrangements are great but i think the song is great because of the chorus and the church organ. i dont like the engrish though, but its sucha a small thing its not even noticeable.

this song sounds like a combination of free and easy and talkin2myself! :D

ayu99persen 23rd March 2010 04:12 AM

I really like the melody. The way her voice is soft in the verses and then speeds up and BOOM! in the chorus is really dynamic and catchy I think.

The arrangement is freakin' cool though. Love it.:luv2
