well i mean we got the new song, the boys japanese version, the old songs plus remixes also the PVs, where we can't find it on the 1st version of the album. so that's pretty complete for me.
but well that's all decision is back to elaniel 's hands haha. both have gorgeous covers.

elaniel 7th January 2012 10:25 PM

Okay! I just placed my order (and I went all in!)

From YesAsia:
Girls' Generation 2nd Mini Album - Genie
Girls' Generation Mini Album - Gee
Girls' Generation Mini Album Vol. 3 - Hoot
Girls' Generation Vol. 1 Repackage Album - Baby Baby
Girls' Generation Vol. 2 - Run Devil Run (Repackage)
Girls' Generation Vol. 3 (MR. TAXI Version)

From HMV Hong Kong:
Girls' Generation Japan First Album CD&DVD + Photobook (Taiwan Version).

I'm going to wait for the Taiwan Version of the Japan repackage album rather than buy the Japan Version, as it means I can buy both then :) (Hopefully it's out soon as it seems overseas versions are a few weeks after Japan Versions).

I was also tempted to pick up their Japan singles, but I think that's going a bit overboard for the time being. Anyone's opinions on if the singles are worth it? (Shame most of the overseas versions of the singles are out of print already)

Also, how good is their concert Blu-Ray? Worth it?

Pow! 8th January 2012 01:20 AM

^ The singles are...just like that lol. CD(+DVD)(+very thin booklet)(+poster). If you want to buy the singles I suggest to buy the Korean version since they're A LOT cheaper (sigh T^T) and posters were included too, but Idk if they're still in stock or not.

I bought the Japan First Tour dvd 1st Press Edition because the bluray is too expensive for me. But I watched the bluray in my friend's house and, seriously, watching the girls on a big LCD screen is a very different experience T^T
What I like about it is that the video angles were taken quite nicely, and it showed many of the girls' dorky moments xD
But the biggest flaw of the Japan First Tour dvd/bluray is that it doesn't contain any solo stages at all. And there are two (or three?) short videos that weren't included too because they were played between the solo stages :(
So is it worth it? For me, it's worth it. But I don't know for other people lol since you can even download it anyway x__x

Short fancam of Taeyeon singing I Love You from the Athena concert in Saitama Super Arena:

Ack I want the full performance video T_T

freedreamer 8th January 2012 03:26 AM

ômg...i want the full performance!!!!!!!!!!! that was so beautiful :)

AyUmIXx 8th January 2012 12:30 PM

elaniel, Wow you buy a lot! that's cool!

i'm still wondering why they didn't include the solo stages onto the japanese 1st tour dvd T__T
too badd...i wanna watch their solo stages so badd...specially TaeNy's Lady marmalade.

Thanks for the fancam!

ExodusUK 8th January 2012 12:48 PM

They're probably planning to repackage it with the solo stages, worse than Avex lol

Pow! 8th January 2012 02:08 PM

I'm guessing that they're going to include the solo stages in the GGTOUR dvd (the Korean version of the concert). I think they didn't include the solo stages in the Japan First Tour one because the GGTOUR is still going (still got Hong Kong and Bangkok) and SM doesn't want to (officially) show the solo stages to the public yet :/

dreamland2.0 8th January 2012 06:53 PM

Or maybe they couldn't get the rights for them in Japan?
Pretty sad, I really wanted to see them. I hope they put them on the Korean DVD. It didn't seem to be a problem for the ITNW DVD.

My Japanese "Re: Package Album "Girls' Generation" ~The Boys~" arrived in the mail today. I'll probably post the pictures all later tonight after work if I don't have time right now and it doesn't look like I will.

P.S. Again, had no idea it was out there in this weather. Last time it was raining when the Korean "The Boys" came and now it's snowing. :]

EDIT: Here ya go.

^It looks really awesome.
No OS press for the repackage ??

FIRSTKLAS 10th January 2012 07:42 AM

^Both CD+DVD editions of the repackage album come in a hardcover slipcase so I wouldn't be surprised if the CD Only version is the only one that gets an OS press.

Special packaging always seems to be an issue for OS press. :/

y_nathz 10th January 2012 09:00 AM

looks pretty.. to bad there's no os press for cd+dvd one T_T
Thanks for sharing the pics :)

Tom Punks 10th January 2012 12:37 PM

I just saw SNSD on TV, lolol.

dreamland2.0 10th January 2012 01:42 PM

Actually some OS presses have special packaging. I guess it depends if the company wants to spend money on it or not xD

elaniel 10th January 2012 01:54 PM

Plus, an overseas version doesn't have to have special packaging, it could just be in a standard CD&DVD case. I've added the Japan version of the repackage to an open order I have on yesAsia. If the overseas press is announced before it ships, Ill swap it out. I don't want to risk missing out on it as I've heard the remixes on the repackage and think they're awesome. :)

FIRSTKLAS 10th January 2012 04:03 PM

^It would be a little more complicated to do that, actually.

If they wanted to put the limited editions in regular 2CD cases they'd either have to completely reformat all the artwork or create a new page (maybe an insert?) for the regular CD Only booklet with credits for the DVD.

I'm more inclined to think, though, that if there are any OS presses of the limited editions, they are going to be as similar to the JP versions as they can be or there won't be any at all. There's just too much effort involved to make different packaging for a different market. The only people I've seen make that sort of effort are bootleggers:

elaniel 10th January 2012 06:29 PM

Well, I've been watching their PV's today and, wow they're extremely classy girls. I had a bad impression that they were going to sell using sex, but they are all completely classy! I think they're going to definitely fill the gap that's been filled by Dream being extremely inactive lately (I love Dream btw.)

I think I've found my favourite member as well. I'm not sure of her name (so I posted a picture of her). Any of you guys tell me her name? I'm sure I'll get to know them all in time, but would like to know which girl she is.

^ Her Name Is Choi Sooyoung! :D
The third youngest of the group and the one with best Japanese skill.
She loves old music (she knows Grandmothers' era songs) and eating (dubbed Shikshin or Culinary/Eating Goddess)

And I agree with you, they are really classy :yes that's why I love them :)
