love all the 4 tracks, maybe untitled for her story 2 is just so so, i like it but i like unitle for her part 1 better, sounds much more emotional.

SAKURA... hmmm I've got mixed feelings about this one... I don't really get the song even after the 3rd repeat and I'm usually a ballad person.

Bye Bye darling on the other hand got my attention at the first listen. It's like a song from A Song for XX getting a make over :D I like it

I like them, even Untitled for her 2 is good !!

untitled for her story 2 is one of those songs where the music itself can paint a story to me. It's so beautiful, the way it progresses. From that painful feeling to one that is more hopeful. Thinking how this song is rumoured to be for that fan who passed away really makes it heart-wrenching.

There may be a couple tweaks to this when the booklet scans come out, but for now here's a translation for Bye-bye darling.

I know there were rumors floating around about the lyrics possibly being dedicated to a fan, but now that the song has leaked it's definitely still about the person who the original was dedicated to. (Truth be told I heard 'tsuki' [moon] instead of 'tsugi' [next] the first time I listened through, and I looked back at the line where she mentions the sun and the long night, etc etc, and I thought she was being poetic and I was just too dumb to be able to translate it properly...then I listened again and realized maybe she was saying something else. :thud I hope I'm right about that, tbh. "I understand so much it hurts/that all I have left is the moon" really just doesn't have the same impact.)

Bye-bye Darling's lyrics seem to support Ayu's concept for LOVE again the greatest so far.

SAKURA had a couple of difficult parts, too...but where would the fun be if it was straightforward?

*顔をする in Japanese literally means to 'make a face' but in this case, it's like she's putting on a mask. She tells herself (and everyone else) that she's fine 5 years after the death of her friend, but inside she's still hurting.

It's been five years since the release of the original untitled and thus 5 years since the passing of her friend, as referenced in the lyrics. Ayu also makes very explicit references to the original song through her lyrical choices, especially in the italicized stanza above (which is veeeeery similar to the opening lyrics of the original).

petal is very poetic. Going to revisit this one after the booklet scans come out since there's a part I want to double-check with the official lyrics.
