Day 24: A song composed by CREA
It's hard for me to say anything other than M, because it's just my favorite song. However, I also love Free & Easy, which structurally is a very similar song. |

Day 24: A song composed by CREA
This is such a hard category too! There are so many good ones to pick from. I'll choose no more words, it's always been a huge favourite. And it's another song with lyrics I'm kind of obsessed with (If this world were divided in two / into winners and losers / Ah, I’ll just be a loser / I want to always be a loser). Spoiler:

I keep waiting for her to sing no more words again. It's so beautiful!

Day 24: A song composed by CREA
Hard to choose but I will go with M. |
Day 24: A song composed by CREA
This one is hard, but I think I choose I am..., it's perfect as an opening for an album and it's a sound I would love her to come back to. It's so raw, I really like this about the song. |
Day 24: I am...
Probably the hardest pick ever. HANABI and Free & Easy deserve the winning spot as well. All these songs stand out, none of these sound the same, or another song sounds likewise. These are one-time-only songs, genius, like magic. I picked I am..., because I love her raw vocals, the live performances are iconic, it's the best opening out of all her albums and mini's. The song ain't "better" than my other two nominations, but definetely got this whole atmosphere around it, that is such an amazing experience. It's the gem you need to discover as fan, because it's not a big hit. And when you do, it's love at first time hearing. |
Day 25: A song you like about death
Only one song rings the bell for me ever free |
Spoiler:
Day 25 - ever free + memorial address I just can´t decide, they are both masterpieces, and it was soooo awesome to hear ever free live <3 |
Day 25 - HEAVEN (Piano Version)
The original mix is beautiful, but this version gives me goosebumps. Just Ayu and the piano, so I can fully concentrate on her words. All I need for a song that channels both grieve and acceptance. |
Spoiler:
Day 25: A song you like about death Hanabi You know, I'm not sure if this song really ís about death or Just about a former lover but there is this one Part in the lyrics that makes it a song about death for me. Í guess we all had someone close to us pass away and we don't need to remember them because they will always be there and never will be forgotten. |

Day 25: ever free

Spoiler:
24 - HANABI break-up songs are my weak spot and i love everything in HANABI, lyrics and arrangement are really beautiful 25 - Memorial address i wasn't the biggest fan of the song until I saw her perform it in A BEST LIVE and saw how personal it is for her. it's very sad song and i've been very fortunate to avoid the feelings she goes through in lyrics since I have never lost anyone very close to me. but if I lost someone in my family or very close friend, I bet this would be the song that would help me go through the pain of loss |
Day 25: A song you like about death
Again, there are so many good songs to choose from, but only one is right for me: Memorial Address. It was my absolute no. 1 Ayu song for a long time. Before I ever read the translated lyrics, I could feel the raw emotion she's expressing in the song and I was captivated. When I read the lyrics, I was awed by Ayu's storytelling and ability to put such painful emotions and truths into beautiful but straightforward words. After I lost my little brother to cancer several years ago, I felt the lyrics on a new level; the way Ayu describes the numbness of grief, the difficulty of even processing the death of a loved one, how time just keeps moving while you feel like you're flailing through a dream, it's so accurate to my experience. And Ayu's story has the additional layer of so much left unresolved between her and the dead person, it's really heart-wrenching. Memorial Address remains one of her best songs, not only thanks to the amazing lyrics but also a beautiful melody and perfect arrangement and production. Spoiler:

Day 25: A song you like about death
Untitled ~for her~. I never liked this song. But after my father died, this song unexpectedly hit me in the gut. |

I'm sorry to hear that. :( Day 25: A song you like about death HANABI Quote:
あの日何かが止まって しまったこんな私じゃ and how she describes here how at that day something completely stopped for her. Also, at one point she uses kioku 記憶, which doesn't only mean "memory" (how it is always translated) in a broader sense, but can also mean remembrance. It would be strange to try to reach a former lover through a wish you would like to make through a shooting star. I think the metaphor to try to reach that person through the sky or more precisley through a shooting star, like shooting your wish into the sky like fireworks, is already a strong indicator that the person she is talking about is no longer alive. |
Spoiler:
Day 26 - Sunset ~LOVE is all~ - hard question, but I think i will choose Sunset, i like this song. I like both Sunrise + Sunset^^ |
Day 26: A song that makes you want to fall in love
Shape of love - love how this song is so calm and soothing. Guitar section is everything. |
Oh my, now I am reading the comments, I wished that I would have picked HANABI (most definetely, I didn't know it was about death) or Memorial address (can't believe I hadn't think about this one sooner).
Day 26 - Key ~ Eternal tie ver. The most beautiful song about love. I want to wrap my arms around someone and just be like that... for at least 3 minutes and 14 seconds - the length of this song. Previous entries Spoiler:
