Japanese market works this way:

Single 1, Single 2, Single 3, Album including 3 previously released singles

Korean market works this way:

Mini-album, Repackaged album (Mini-album with more songs)

and sometimes they release a digital single before releasing the mini-album

ikr!
what's the point of them saying that SNSD is their role model but before that they said bout their bodies are better than SNSD lmao.
probably their company is the one who wanted them to have SNSD's HOOT concept and Super 7 members disliked the idea or something. LOLS.

these girls need to look at the mirror before saying things bout others.
look at what they performed in the golden melody awards this year, i donno how could the host let them lipsynch to someone's song using SNSD's vocals and they had the head microphones on them. LOLS. definitely so different SNSD, usually when they sing other people's songs, they wouldn't lipsynch using other people's vocals but they re-record it or they sing it live.

corikaru, what happened to the girls back in 2008 Dream Concert was totally so cruel. i was not even a fan back then, but because of that incident, i got to know about the girls n when "Gee" made the hit on 2009, i started to fall for them and for me, the girls were not so bad like those antis said (mostly from the boygroups' fangirls, specially TVXQ and Super Junior, which ironically they are in the same company as the girls), i just don't get it why they can't be like fans from YGE, where Big Bang's and 2NE1's fans could unite, and i never heard of them got into huge fights.

edit!

Girls won Inkigayo mutizen! yayy~~~

so it's been triple mutizens for The Boys, Mnet countdown + mubank + inkigayo!

I think that explanation is a little TOO simplified? Like, Koreans don't always release mini albums, and they generally don't repackage their actual mini albums. They pretty much do whatever the f they want though, lol. They switch between releasing singles and mini albums (which can both have three songs if they want, they don't care). Some artists release albums that are six songs (which we would call mini albums, but they call albums) and some release albums that have ten or more songs. Also, depending on the artists and apparently what they just happen to feel like doing at the time, the title tracks from previous singles and mini albums may or may not end up on the full album. Albums are generally the only ones that get repackaged, but not ALL artists repackage their albums. I think the album repackaging thing is mostly an SM thing, because I can't really think of any YG, JYP, etc. groups that have repackaged their albums. Of course, it's not ONLY SM artists, like how BEG, T-ara, Infinite and many others have repackaged their albums. But generally, it's not something that everyone does/something that happens every time an album is released.

AyUmIXx 13th November 2011 02:46 PM

yea they sometimes release mini album and sometimes full album and sometimes just single or digital single.
their pattern is just hard to predict haha~

I found this post humorous and funny.

I am so in love with that Inkigayo outfits!! :heart :heart :heart

The performance was recorded two weeks ago after Inkigayo broadcast, so it's not surprising that Sica still looked unwell :(

I'm still very much craving for more The Boys performance~

The girls will be releasing their 1st Japan Photobook: 『Holiday』

This is the most accurate description I've seen to date :roflmao
Yeah well if we're talking SM they do have a pattern when it come to releases instead of being totally random like some companies XD
It's like this: They rarely ever release a digital single. If it's a mini-album they might follow-up with another track in the album later but it won't get an MV. If it's a full album it gets a repackage with 1-4 different songs. For SNSD, SHINee, and f(x) they usually have 1-2 minis between full albums. TVXQ and Super Junior only release full albums. TRAX and The Grace are totally random at the moment :laugh

oh and btw this is something I found confusing at first, most Kpop artists don't release OST songs as singles like in JPop, they only appear on OST albums.

adantatu2 14th November 2011 04:16 AM

I know they are super busy, but are they going to release a reckapage album soon ?

y_nathz 14th November 2011 07:44 AM

^I heard so, someone talked about it in T-Ara's thread.. But tbh I'm not sure ...

freedreamer 14th November 2011 10:23 AM

It would be normal for SM artists to have a repackage. So i would be surprised if this album didnt have one.
im predicting a mid Dec release...perhaps after their Singapore concert on the 9th and 10th

AyUmIXx 14th November 2011 01:02 PM

yea seeing SM method, it'll always occur to their artists.
OMG i really want that photobook...but too brokeeeeeeeeeeeee~~

YuriChan 15th November 2011 09:24 AM

The girls are going to be hosting their own talk show!! :D
http://www.allkpop.com/2011/11/snsd-...-own-talk-show

AyUmIXx 15th November 2011 11:13 AM

^ yey finally got something to watch bout SNSD full show.

kendelle 15th November 2011 01:11 PM

Apparently the repackage of The Boys is due out in a few weeks - the Australian Kpop supplier group on Facebook apparently got their confirmation today and are taking orders :D

I got back from Sydney today - the live performance was amazing (all the acts were standouts but I'll focus on SNSD for this thread :D)!!!

Tiffany and Yuri hosted the event - speaking mainly in Korean with Tiffany then recapping the conversation a little in English, which was nice but we missed their banter!!

They appeared around the middle of the show but before their song performance, HyoYeon, YoonA, Yuri and SooYoung did a collaborative dance performance with SHINee....I screamed myself so hoarse I started to sound like SooYoung's fangirl xDDD

Here's the best cam I found for the dance: http://youtu.be/qSJI5VdnhuQ | http://youtu.be/NNL8jxwMw3w

When they performed lots of people stood up on their chairs so I couldn't see them at all :( Which really, really sucked but I got to hear them and I even saw Hyo do the little jump in the Gee chorus through a gap in the sea of heads lol

They performed The Boys in Korean, Kissing You and finally Gee before they exited the stage. I was expecting them to do 4 songs like some of the other acts got but I was happily surprised with Kissing You - what a cool song to perform lol

Jessica spoke lots of English this time, which was really cool considering she didn't say much in the NY interviews - her voice is so sweet......SeoHyun also spoke some English and SooYoung was one of the 4 to stay til the end and say her farewells.

I was about 60 metres away from them from my seat but even there I could feel their energy........all the concert did was make me want to see a full SNSD concert even more :)

The Boys
Kissing You (short)
Gee

At the end the remaining 4 members sang the Korean national anthem with all the other performers and threw the little rubbery balls with autographs like Ayu does. I missed one by about a foot and saw 3 people with 2 and one with THREE who was already talking about how much he'd sell them on eBay for :( That put a real dampener when I saw lots of younger kids trying to jump and get the balls but older people snatched them all up!

I really can't fault the performances, from what I saw they were perfect, although Jessica's mike wasn't working properly in The Boys and it looked like she missed her queue (although the camera was on her and you could see her lips moving) - straight after The Boys her mike was changes (as well as Tiffany's I think) but they still had some dropouts in the other songs (at least that's what I heard....

The concert will apparently be broadcast on MBC on December 3 - so soon you'll all get to watch it xD

In person (well, on a giant TV screen being projected from close to me) the girls look gorgeous. Yuri was sparkling, Sunny looked gorgeous, TaeYeon was on fire, Jessica was so elegant and SeoHyun looked totally porcelain and flawless.............they all looked fantastic that I couldn't decide who I liked best that night. Such a shame there were no fanmeetings but I intend on writing a few suggestions to the organisers for the next concert (if there is one ^_^)

Since we got home I have had Factory Girl playing - we watched NY Part 2 and my fiancée was cracking up at SooYoung's conversation with the taxi driver :P

======================

I really want that photobook too lol But luckily there's no FP bonus that I need to have so it can wait til post-Christmas or something :)

@Cori - I haven't been in this thread much lately but you're newer to SNSD? Basically the Korean market produces three types of albums: [*]mini albums (usually about 5-6 songs each - too long for a single, not enough for a full album - here we'd call it an "EP")[*]albums (released usually every year and approx 14 tracks)[*]repackaged albums (released 1-2 months after an album and contains 1-2 new tracks and sometimes a new tracklisting.....think of it like Gaga's Fame Monster - it's The Fame with "more"........that's the gist of it)

Actually TomPunks' answer does a better job xD labels do tend to do wtfever they feel like, which is super confusing when you're coming into KPOP music........ :tired

SNSD's key discography is this:
Into The New World (debut single)
Girls' Generation (first album)
Baby Baby (first album repackage) adds 3 tracks/remixes
Gee (first mini album)
Genie (second mini album)
Oh! (second album)
Run Devil Run (second album repackage) adds 3 tracks
Hoot (third mini album)
Girls' Generation (Japan first album)
The Boys (third album)

So if you're not a real collector, you can get by on the repackages and the mini albums but I'd hazard a guess about the 3rd album repackage coming out January 2012 or maybe February.

They also have loads of TV shows - if you haven't before, check out Girls Go To School, Intimate Note feat. SNSD and Hello Baby and Factory Girl if you're up for a longer challenge - they're all great shows that give you a great picture of their personalities and helps you get to know them a bit better :)

The weekly show sounds cool too, although I hope it lasts longer than Cheer Up! and all those other cancelled-after-three-episodes-or-even-less shows xDDD I wanna see if they force Sunny's aegyo ;)

I used to just feel bad for Super7 because I thought they were just being forced to emulate SNSD by their company, but after that lipsynching performance at that awards ceremony plus all that *****ing I think they can go jump :P There's no need to put others down to elevate yourself - it's one of the prime reasons I don't bother following western music - what's wrong with people just being civil to one another?!?

AyUmIXx 15th November 2011 02:04 PM

^ i'm so envy of you. u gotta see the girls performing The Boys Live..
anyway, were they singing all live?
can't wait to see MBC air the whole show soon =))

kendelle 15th November 2011 02:27 PM

^ all were live, they had mic faults so you could tell hahahaha

They all have awesome stage prescence. Oh! And it was the Korean version which was a bit surprising as I expected English to promote the maxi single...........that's only a few days away too :)

terra 15th November 2011 02:38 PM

^ Oo lucky! I can't wait to see them next month as well :heart

And yes, talking about their variety shows, everywhere they appear the girls surely give colors and fun. I remember I'm watching Horror Movie Factory and laughed so hard :laugh and Invincible Youth with Sunny + Yuri well + Kim Shinyoung and Narsha too they make such a dynamic combination :yes

AyUmIXx 15th November 2011 03:41 PM

kendelle, that's good to hear, because they've been said lipsynched by some ppl.
haha LOL it seems Sica always becoming the victim for mic malfunction for this comeback. haha XDD~~

freedreamer 15th November 2011 04:27 PM

@kendelle...wow..few weeks?? maybe thats why they are promoting The Boys Remix already. come to think of it, its about a month from their comeback already. Hopefully it'll come out before the 10th :P

AyUta 15th November 2011 09:43 PM

Um....MBC. Meaning, can we people in america see it on channel 11? :O the news channel?
