Was it just single sales that they sold more?

Only single sales... To overtake Ayu's place they need to pretty much overtake almost everyone's, as Ayu is the 3rd best selling act in the country x,x

Gustavopc 29th August 2015 02:55 PM

otoh ayu was at MSta last year performing Last minute and Kuu didnt sing there last year :shrug Plus Kuu's agenda will probably not be that full as ayu's due to TA Tour... There are many reasons for ayu's name not appearing (yet), I wouldnt blame it solely on her current image

I've always wondered why she has a gap in her teeth? Is it because her wisdom teeth was taken out or some reason? Please educate me i'm genuinely confused

Listening to Dolls. I find this song to be very dream-like.

Lol, I'm surprised there hasn't been an AHS podcast. Now that would be interesting. Weekly digests of songs and/or albums, with various guests volunteering to make an appearance and discuss. Basically a debate, where 3 members are for the song/album and 3 are not. Although I think the biggest issue would be staying on track (pun not intended).

November is truly great because you can just feel so much emotion behind it. The arrangement is beautiful; if you're not actively paying attention to the layers in the background, and primarily a fore-frontal music listener (as in 80+% of your attention is focused on the vocal track alone), then it's difficult to notice how beautiful and grand it is. Each verse has intricate changes in the background, and different layers take the forefront of the backgrounds stage during each segment of the song. The ending where everything comes together and is weighted equally really shines more so after you notice that.

Also, the song paints a really vivid picture for me. It's one of those songs when listened to in the right context, you feel at one with the music. It's very "cool, brisk atmosphere, early evening, color in the sky beginning to change but sun still shining" type of song. Oh, and very woodsy. Like you need to have trees visible around you, and drying grass.

Although the beginning is very ballroom-esque, it begins very cordial and well-mannered. I imagine a couple, perhaps Ayu and her lover, locked into the beginning of a cordial ballroom dance. And after "miteita", beginning with "dare mo", their dance springs to life, and it becomes a very active, yet utterly romantic type of dance. The song itself is such an autumn-time dance between lovers. Even the call-and-anwer intro/outro works with that imagery. The lovers are calling to each other, and are reunited after being a part of an extended period of time, and in the end, they part ways again, still calling and longing for one another. The cycle continues.
^This is why we need a podcast!!

It's a shame that the new "classical" albums can't reach that level of perfection even by 1 inch....

I really enjoyed A Classical, but LOVE CLASSICS was too computerized for my taste. I really wanted classical versions of YOU and TO BE with the 10th anniversary vocal takes.
MY STORY Classical is beautiful though, especially Moments, CAROLS and, yes, HONEY. :P

Gustavopc 31st August 2015 12:28 AM

^ mte, I dont think I have listened to LOVE CLASSICS songs more than three times

Yes! I love this song, it's so ethereal and dreamy. My favorite album track off of RAINBOW. That and Heartplace.

rainbow_smile 31st August 2015 10:08 AM

LOVE CLASSICS is my favourite "remix" album of hers tbh. And I also love Dearest with that arrangement, while I don't even care about the original.

DevilsClap 31st August 2015 10:36 AM

I know that I love GAME from MY STORY CLASSICAL a lot.

I don't listen to LOVE CLASSICS much..which is sad..I should just listen to it again

rainbow_smile 31st August 2015 10:56 AM

I actually listen to LOVE CLASSICS every once in a while :D I love all the songs there except for Virgin Road, which I find a bit boring, and YOU because of the vocals :c

Heavenly 31st August 2015 10:56 AM

The great thing with MY STORY Classical was that they remixed unexpected songs in a classical way, and GAME is a good exemple of that.
The biggest drawback with A Classical and LOVE CLASSICS is the use of the same f** songs every time.... They don't take any risk, and it's highly frustrating. They could have done beautiful, magnificent, epic remixes of bunch of other unexpected songs.... :(

THIS so much, her other songs deserves Classical treatments as well :<
GAME Classical was one of the best thing that's ever happen in her discography

jiarongisme 31st August 2015 12:35 PM

Oh right. She has a remix album called LOVE CLASSICS. It has totally fallen off my radar until y'all mentioned it. :laugh Honestly, once the novelty wears off, it's not a really good album on its own.

Minttulatte 31st August 2015 12:57 PM

I never listened to LOVE CLASSICS because that type of remix albums aren't good in my eyes so I didn't bother listening to it. I orefer those acoustic orchestra versions of ayu-mi-x remix albums the most. Those are great. :)

The concept of "MY STORY Classical" was more intriguing, too. Avex and the Lamoureux Orchestra set up a whole new interpretation of an studio album with, as you already stated, a classical instrumentation of high quality standard, rather than a random compilation of ever-greens or fan-favourites.

I've been considering this remix album as one of Ayu's best albums in general for a long time by now. It's grace implies a much more grand and meaningful positioning among Ayu's discography than one would think.

Technically it is still a remix album, but as a whole, way above any remix-standards, whereas remixes produced for Hamasaki have commonly been top-notch output or so I, as a huge fan of many Ayu remixes, think.

oaristos 31st August 2015 04:21 PM

I love Days, TO BE, and Virgin Road from LOVE CLASSICS!
