And it's on #1 again for today after going down to #9 yesterday.

Gustavopc 27th January 2016 10:36 AM

^ So happy for it :heart

It's funny that in the beginning I didn't like Kuu's ballads. I have no idea why, but I just didn't like them. It was only after she released Ai no Uta that something changed in me and I started liking all her ballads (including the ones I disliked at first lol).

Not yet actually, but next week for sure. It's just 119 copies behind :)

Nice it's #1 on recochoku!

KarenPang 27th January 2016 12:02 PM

Oh sorry about that my bad

Kuu has come a long way since her Ero Kawaii days . I'm sure now she's at a stage where she's able to make a stand on what she wants and doesn't want to do , career wise

At least now she's able to strike a balance in doing both upbeat and ballad songs collectively side by side

My bad. I was looking the numbers from generasia. haha

Well, for Kumi's career its a common sense that her label wanted her to be more sexy and stuff, but she said a couple of times that it was her idea doing something sexy and cute / cool at the same time, so I feel that at the end of the day everything worked out well for her.

I never felt that she was hyper sexualized or anything by RZ, and I can really see a conection with Kuu and Honey (the Cutie Honey protagonist): a girl with a bubbly personality who's sexual appeal comes natural with a more empowering tone, than just playing the bombshell kind of girl.

And btw, I miss her cute songs :( I'm dying for a new Lick me or whatever, just give me another Wonderland and I'll be happy. Gimme U is almost there, but not enough. haha

I felt like LIFE so GOOD!! was her last cute song. Not too big a fan of it.

Wonderland is one I grew to like with time, and I was surprised when I find myself liking it haha.

Lick me is absolutely amazing. Never gets old. Side note, I clearly remember when the song was first announced lots of people thought it was gonna be JUICY part II or something lol, cause of the title. How wrong we were.

This reminds me, what was the link for that Kuu wiki you're making? I lost it and can't find it >_<
I can start updating there with the actual oricon numbers for her releases, if it's ok to start editing there, so everyone can have a place to check the updated sales :)

Just reminiscing about how popular Koi no Tsubomi was. Ahh the good old days.

Me too! I love her cute songs so much... with the exception of Koi no Tsubomi which I can't stand anymore haha
(I was not so into her overly cute sections on the tours though, I think they usually went a little overboard haha)

@pimenta: This is the link ( http://koda-kumi-database.wikia.com/wiki/Main ). Sadly I had to stop putting things there since christmas day, someone broke into my house and robbed a bunch of stuff, including my laptop (I got it back, but they f*cked up the OS, so I had to reboot the system and I lost ALL my things, from photos, demos, interviews, rare performances). I'm trying to get the things again so I can update the database. :)

I absolutely adore her cute songs. I still remember that I used to play Kingdom and dance the whole album in my bedroom and Wonderland was my favorite song to do this. Koi no Tsubomi isn't my favorite, but it's not that bad either. And I love Melting... It's so corny. haha

Dejavu Tour had a good cute section, it wasn't childish like Kingdom Tour. I still listen to I Don't Love You !?, Bambi and Hey Baby! quite often.

@jean-baptiste To me LIFE is GOOD!! is more of a pop rockish kind of song, but it's my least song from WOML.

I never actually liked that song but every other single from Black Cherry was flawless. :luv2

Corvina 28th January 2016 04:52 PM

Winter of Love is at #8 today for albums on recochoku.
But apart from back number, all releases before her are new releases.
So let's see how it will do the rest of the week.

Ryusei 28th January 2016 05:25 PM

cute songs -> love technique is flawless to me I love that song, one of few cute songs from Koda that I like. Hey baby! is also one i love

Gustavopc 28th January 2016 09:08 PM

^ Those two are my favourite between her cute songs. The ones between Black Cherry and UNIVERSE were usually not my cup of tea :P

pimenta 28th January 2016 09:25 PM

My favorite cute song is still Birthday Eve, I just love everything about it so much :heart Though SUPERSTAR and Hey Baby! are very close behind.

Oh, that's sucks :( I hope you can recover most of the stuff you lost somehow...
Anyway, I already started editing there and added the sales for the albums that were already there.

mi|kshake 28th January 2016 10:39 PM

Cute songs-wise I love Love Technique and Lovely.
