While she may have said that, I think it's sort of misdirection given the recent ways to keep TROUBLE going. It'd have been like... "TROUBLE like you have never seen before in arenas!", trying to be surprising with another encore of TROUBLE. If she was able to do the arena tour though, I think that would have been the last time she would be able to extend the theme without it getting too out of hand.

It got out of hand like eighteen months ago

She must be out of ideas for new music/concept if she insists on dragging Trouble from 2018 till 2021

Katsuyuki012 21st May 2020 12:06 AM

Does it really matter, though? Yes, we all want new music but all these TROUBLE chapters differ from each other to the point of them being entirely different shows. They share a name but that's all. The shows still seem to be great.

People get bitter because most of us are overseas and can't enjoy the concerts.

Also, for some reason, there is this strange consensus around here that Ayu can't perform and that watching her live isn't worh it...

truehappiness 21st May 2020 04:08 AM

It seems to be a similar thing like how Just the beginning was parts 1 through 3 but then that also did not really lead to anything even though it was supposed to be "just the beginning" of something. TROUBLE as a theme just keeps reminding people of the EP as well. I think it'd just have been nice if they called them something else like how CDL was Promised Land at least. Sharing the name between tours that are pretty different makes it difficult to differentiate between them which makes you wonder why they didn't just call them something else to begin with if the shows are not gonna have a common thread anyway.

If it was the case fans would have been bitter since the start of her career.
People are just over this dragging TROUBLE era (which was creatively her weakest to begin with) and want new material with a new tour promoting it. That's just it. Why call people bitter?

Nope. Not the same. She wasn't JUST touring until 2017 or so... There was still a lot of material the oversea fandom could have access to.

As she was mostly touring in the later years, it kinda of felt like there was nothing happening for someone who can't attend the concerts.

Ayu has become more of a traveling circus act rather than a current recording artist and i'm at peace with that.

Okay I understand what you mean.
Personally I (now) don't care that much about seeing her live or else. If I have the opportunity one day I will sure be very happy but that's just it. I may not be the only one.
Touring or not doesn't really make a difference to me. I'd rather have her resting than touring like crazy to be honest.
The lack of new (and good) material is what bores me. And the overuse of the TROUBLE name is not helping it. Like even if the tour was constantly evolving, keeping it the same name reminds us she hasn't done new music since then and that creatively she has nothing really different to offer.

I disagree with just about everything. Loved both the chapters I attended. I was entertained and got to see her up-close. Would go again if she was re-doing the tour from scratch. All the 3 chapters were totally different and it doesn’t ultimately matter what they are called. Even though we lacked the new releases the tour was very memorable in a good way.

Thanks for sharing your experiences :) By the way just wanted to ask, when you see her two shows, is her over the top stage acting cringy? From the DVDs since 2017 I get that feeling.... but it might be different live. What do you think?

Andrenekoi 23rd May 2020 04:32 AM

^I never watched Ayu live in person, but people need to take into consideration that her concert is not meant to be watched up close. It's a stage show, and the physical demonstration of emotion needs to be bigger so people can actually notice it without relying on screens.

The first chapter didn’t give her much of a chance to do the over the top, cringe worthy “acting”. aeternal/No way to say were not too much. During the third chapter I’d say that POWDER SNOW and JEWEL were done very gracefully and she concentrated on singing rather than butchering the songs.

PoM 2018 was the most cringe worthy show I’ve seen and I felt uncomfortable at the beginning of forgiveness and during the intro to BRILLIANTE. She tends to be over dramatic during some of the ballads and Timmy doesn’t help her as he adds to the drama 😅

The iconic Kazuyoshi Shimomura (photographer for A BEST II, TROUBLE, A BEST LIVE promo, power of MUSIC promo / Director for Lady Dynamite, Sparkle, GREEN, Mirrorcle World) posted on his Instagram about working with Ayu:

Quote:

"I have nothing more than gratitude for Hamasaki Ayumi. From the day I was in charge of photographing Hamasaki Ayumi, I can't remember a single afternoon or night that I was able to sleep. I didn't even have time for sleep for seven years.

Together with Hair and Make up artist @kurodakeizo, the editor that loves #ayu @poogie5 and @sptp, even now I can't believe what an gorgeous day it was.

She's not the kind of person that will be mocked by public opinion. A very maternal and gentle woman. This is the true appearence of #HamasakiAyumi.

#People like mom
#There's no one like her
#Super Star"

I think he's mentioning the fact that after photographing Ayu for the first time, his work became even more respected and he got more jobs after that.

Ayu did three Q&A posts with TA questions. Seems she has been watching the drama Money Heist / House of Paper from Spain on Netflix and also said her favorite PV she has filmed was Mirrorcle World! She'll be answering more as questions come in from members.

she got to hang around and do those silly (and/or iconique?) posé while wearing fabulous outfits in wintertime Paris—I kind of understand why! :laugh

I actually walked around the city to visit as many of the outdoor set pieces when I was there (and found out, to my dismay, that the phone booth set was not a permanent spot), some of the happiest days of my life :D

^ that phone booth isn't real?? :no omg i have been dreaming about visiting that location when i go to Paris next time :(

yes, I actually asked AHS to conduct more research on these spots when I was there! :D

that phone booth set was the only one I did not manage to spot. I remember people telling me it was just put there for the video shoot, but I just couldn't fully believe it so I walked around some more to gather first-hand evidence.

it looked like the bottom parts of a scenic bridge so I ended up scouring literally under bridges :laugh at one one of them I was taking photos when I was joined by someone who just came to pee :roflmao
