I'm glad for the live version of Ayu's shows. It reminds me that she's a human, too, 'cause everybody makes mistakes :)

^ You and me both xD;

jimex289 6th January 2009 04:10 AM

Hmm...could it be because Ayu is so out of tune with her casual fans =|? I'd really like to think not but I think this was touched upon before in another thread and it could be a possibility...

thesilentspeaker 6th January 2009 05:14 AM

I dont see where the lip synching part comes in for "OVER" it didnt look lip synched to me.. maybe she had a different way of pronouncing/articulating the words.. keeping in mind she's japanese ;)

jbrat2219 6th January 2009 05:39 AM

I wonder if they recorded on the 30th so if she sang that part in ANGEL'S SONG right, they could just use that footage for the DVD and voila! Avex Magic has saved the day yet again xD;

Uh oh! Looks like Shu-ya's been beaten out on all sides!! I think Maro is such a good dancer but ZIN is just so cute! haha okay I'll stop gushing now.... :)

I liked the outfit for ANGEL'S SONG! Lol. The only HORRID costume imo was the one she wore during Who... and such. GOD-AWFUL. Just sickening. Lol. But I really liked the other outfits and she looked so hot! I didn't care too much about the lip-synching seeing as she clearly re-recorded the vocals which I was happy about!

jbrat2219 6th January 2009 05:47 AM

^ I LOVED the Cheetah Girl's outfit, Mister!!! lmao xD;

Ha ha, that was me the entire time at AT08 in Osaka. Even during the Encore part, most people sat down in their seats during the clapping part while waiting for Ayu to return but I stood the entire time, clapping away and singing along with the "A-yu, A, A"s. Ha ha. I thought she looked gorgeous in this CDL. Her hair was really nice. I especially loved how she looked during HONEY, vogue, ANGEL'S SONG (yes I loved her here), and the rock songs (Heartplace, etc.). The only HORRID costume was the one she wore during Who... and the few songs that followed. I didn't even know what that was. Lol. Vocals were amazing. Despite the lip-synching here and there, I was happy that she at least re-recorded the vocals! The rock songs were especially nice!

All in all she has come such a long way since the old CDL days. My first one I watched was 2004-2005 and I loved that one. But this show was stunning. Makes me want to save up and go see her again really soon!

Zeke. 6th January 2009 05:49 AM

^ OMG, that was horrendous! It was like something 2002 Ayu would have worn. Bad taste for that outfit. I don't even know how they began to think that one up.

And I'm pretty sure that GREEN's hair was a wig. I don't know if it's been mentioned. I don't think she cut her hair like that - I can just tell by the texture of the hair.

NOT AGAIN..and Now A NEW THREAD... omg...

A note about Ayu singing "Angels Song" live, I've noticed it's always lip synced. In the concert tour after Memorial Address was released she preformed it and the vocals going with the preformance were too perfect and precise for someone who was running around and bouncing on stage. I think she does the lip syncing for it to give entertainment value and not gasp for breath. Look how she preformed "Independent". She cut off lyrics nearly every time and her voice was total crap.

Yes, independant is a good example to use, as well as Trauma and Who for how her voice tends to sound live. I wouldn't go so far as to say the vocals were crap though. :) As for Angel's Song always being lip synched in the 03/04 tour, we really don't know. The DVDs can never be trusted in that regard because they always edit the sound. She could very well have sang it live at the concert and then had the live vocals replaced on the DVD - no way to tell.

edit: but yeah, this thread really didn't need to exist because its all already in the PCDL thoughts thread.

thesilentspeaker 6th January 2009 06:59 AM

I'm sure they recorded it~ production ppl always want to play safe :D

Ayu_no_tenshi 6th January 2009 07:17 AM

yeah...that's true about the ANGEL'S SONG thing but who cares anyway? whether or not it was lip-synced, it's still ayu's voice. and that was a LONG non-stop show. it would've been hard for her to sing every single song live anyway.

Kikaru 6th January 2009 07:50 AM

I finally watched the whole concert off youtube (...except for the the encore, because I'm at school and my Uni apparently bans downloading...)...so Anyhow...

I'm too lazy to write the setlist and comment for each...so general things:
- Peco was wayyyy too loud on some of the parts. Like at the end of Surreal, when I'm straining to hear Ayu.
- That said, I'm glad she didn't add backup vocals for Powdered Snow. that performance is my favorite one of the night
- In real me, when she said Woman can be likeable...I thought she said "women can be like a bug..."
- Too Late, Everywhere Nowhere, although they're not my favorite studio tracks, should totally be a concert staple.
- The dragon dancing was fun and adorable. That said, MW performance was kind of anticlimatic, but that might be after the ship it would seem kind of anticlimatic. It's actually my favorite MW performance
- The pink fairy costume? WTF are you thinking Ayu?
- Is it me or did Ayu look kind of drowsy in the ballad section shots? or am I just seeing things?

Yes, she is. There is no "a woman could be likeable" line in Real Me. :)

reixminako 6th January 2009 09:13 AM

I think it's 'cause Japanese people react differently to the concerts. Japan IS it's own different culture, after all. I remember L'Arc~en~Ciel talking about how different American concert goers are to Japanese concert goers. They said that Japanese concert are structured so that the audience is far away, whereas in America they're a lot closer. And also something about American culture allowing the audience to really express themselves a lot more. Whenever I watch Ayu's concerts I get the impression that the audience is admiring and being wowed by her rather than genuinely enjoying the concert itself. You can't expect all people to act exactly the same in every part of the world, you know.

This issue make me tired.(-_-)
We know the situation fully(ayu's with injury and the PCDL OMG takes 3 hrs running)~~

And this isn't the first-time lip-sync~
01-02 CDL -- she exhausted because of different TV shows~ 02-03 CDL -- she felt ill~~~
