Thanks! I think this puts everything into perspective. If NEXT LEVEL can sell half a million, it will be safely into third (with already 1/3 of the Oricon calendar year gone). That's how bad sales in general are in Japan.

Great that today's sales didn't drop :) It increased a little XD Hopefully it will remain stable for the rest of the week as well. It'd be cool if she could catch up to DCT :laugh

Why can't ayu be recession proof like mr. children? On a brighter note, her sales did not decline n here's to 500k... Hoping's for free.

Awww! Probably because she's a diva. Not in a bad sense but you know how Japan loves down to earth people. They don't get to see that side of her much anymore.

I think if she did more interviews and fun things, people would see her as one of the people and might like her more.

Gotta disagree there. The sales above her really aren't that weak. In fact many of the artists above her are selling better than they usually do. The only ones on that list that are selling less than expected are Ayu and Koda. The fact that she is only number 8 on the annual chart this early in the year, likely means that by the end of the year she will be lucky if she is even in the top 10.

And half a million? It would take a serious miracle for it to even come close to that.

I still have my hope for the USB's encore version that will be shipped on the 7th and the second one that will be shipped on the 23rd.
If both together can get an extra 30,000-50,000 it will be great.
We will see on next week's Wenesday how much it helped (the first encore press).

^ Yeah. Do we know how many were produced? I can't imagine many people beyond the first 10,000 or so that would be willing to pay that amount of money.

You are aware that half of those 7 releases are best ofs and that besides DCT all of those were released weeks (or months) ago? I think that you're being overly negative this time. Let's wait a month or so and than talk about the yearly positions.

Nope, it was time limited.
The first press was limited to a certain amount of copies.
The first and second encore presses were time limited and they created as much as the pre-orders they got until the due times.

I do think though that if there were 2 encore presses the amount of people that ordered the USB is quite big, also if in 1 day the first press of the USB sold 10,000 then go figure what is the amount of the encore presses as they were purchaseable for few weeks.

But it's really hard to know.

After seeing this chart I've realized that NEXT LEVEL is doing worse than I thought. I hope this teaches avex a lesson cause I think one of the reasons why this is doing so bad is the rush. In a span of only 3 months she released two singles and an album :/

I don't think SunshineSlayer is being overly negative at all. And I'm very sure she's aware of the BEST albums, and when they were released, but I think it's most important WHO released them.

Japan loves those artists at the top. Their sales aren't surprising at all.

I think sales are exactly where they should be...although I think Ayu's should be higher, even if it is a new release. It "should" be at least where TRICK and DCT is at. Yet its not.

Sales suck. Oh well.
