Their singles have been selling like crap compared to Ayu but who knows how much more popular AKB48 will have grown by that time.

Yeah ... it's like every release any subunit within that group has their sales grow o.o

AKB48 : Sakura no Shiori : 380k / Ponytail to Chouchou : 600k
SKE48 : Aozora Kataomoi : 50k / Gomenne, Summer : 75k
no3b : Akkanbe Bashi : 35k / Seishun no Flag : 45k

Already I fear for humanity ... and more is on the way!

PLEASE let crossroad be like You were... / BALLAD in the sense that I can grab the damn Type C to get all the freaking songs. ;__________; And the October single too. Rent + food > Ayu, sry2say ;;

(By the way, if you want a truly rushed album? NEXT LEVEL was pretty damn rushed in comparison to Secret. It was like Days / GREEN and then Rule / Sparkle and then OMGWTFNEWALBUMWUT. Probably why it took so long for me to love it)

The arrangements are perfect. Kiss o kill especially. The song is constantly changing. It sounds like way more effort than jewel and momentum
Same for until that day so many little details I could pick out. I'm always too observant of these things though. Lyrically fantastic though too.
Secret (one of the like 3 songs from her that can't give me a headache). U have to have a certain appreciate for slow beautiful songs like that. The composition is so perfection.
T.T secret easily ranks in my least fav ayu albums. But I adore it

I know this is off-topic talk but I just want to clarify what I meant again.
Take all Ayu's rock songs like GAME, About You, Mirrorcle World, is this LOVE?, Microphone, Because of you, etc... those songs all have a more "polished" feel. Until that Day... and Kiss o' Kill feel "harsher" - like more "raw" in the mastering department is what I am talking about. A more "classic rock" feel to them I guess I would say. I am not saying they are bad songs (although Until that Day... took me a while to warm up to and I still don't think it's that amazing), but they are much more "raw" than her other music.

As far as appreciation for slow beautiful songs... if JEWEL is anything at all it is a slow beautiful song. So simple but perfect. Secret just doesn't have that strong of a melody to carry the song along like that. The chorus is just like ... um, this is it? Lol.

... :thud I don't think "momentum" sounds like M at all, in fact the idea had never even come to my mind until someone here said it. I love "M" but I just can't see any of its brilliance in "momentum". :no

I love "Secret"! Yeah sure, it might not have much climax or pitch change but it's one of Ayu's most beautiful ballads in my opinion. Her low, melodic voice, the bittersweet melody and lyrics, the desperation in the chorus and the violins it's just AH! I love it, and I think the melody is great at carrying the song along.
But I guess it would also be one of those songs that have a depth not many can appreciate nowadays. *sigh* No no, it's gotta be fast and it's gotta happen things every second, the voice has to sound different all the time, the lyrics have to be more interesting, there's gotta be more instruments and the melody should change more...
Not meaning to offend anyone. :P Sometimes I just think slower songs like "Secret" don't get enough credit, just because it isn't the most noticeable or unique song, it doesn't mean it's bad. Sometimes I can't help but relate this to how some people can't listen to classical music, such as Mozart and Beethoven, and gotta have music where things happen more and go quicker.
But that's taste for you. Different for everyone so I just have to accept that "Secret" is to me a very underrated song.
And I'm going horribly off-topic. Anyhow, I believe someone said "crossroad" sounds like "replace" or "winding road" or similar; that does interest me a bit. I love both those songs too. I have a habit of liking Ayu songs everyone else seems to hate, and not be interested in some of the songs everyone else worships.

THIS THIS THIS!!!! I love you in so many ways right now. That is ecactly how I feel about secret.
And classical music :heart
----------------
Anyhow....
@all.night.raver: no. I still don't understand how it sounds more harsh than Because of You
And listening to the guitars in until that day it just reminded me of 80s rock or something
I think both songs are just powerful. Moreso than About You for example.
Idc what's wrong with the mastering compared to other albums. Mmmm...rock songs that are harsh. Maybe I listen to too much rock lately so I can't tell
Both songs have a lot more pop-influence thoughh

---------------
And alo @ayu-me: I think crossroad is along those lines. I can even feel a new dance coming on. Like. Its hard to imagine this anywhere outside of the encore listening to the preview

I wonder how much ayu's next best album is going to sell...

I first listened to Secret in early 2007, and I just fell in love with it. Overall, a fantastic album for most who listens to it without having heard any of the pre-released singles on it. That was my experience anyway :).

that's absolutely true..I feel the same about RnRC but Secret has more fascination, is something you can dive in totally.

anyway, hope crossroad will be better than MOON. Nothing else..it could be upbeat, rock, ballad or whatever, but should be better than MOON

Hopefully not as much little as Koda Kumi's and BoA's

I might as well ask since we apparently aren't off the topic of secret yet. I was digging through ahs yesterday and found out that before secret's full debut, the 7-track mini album was going to be "Startin', BLUE BIRD, Beautiful Fighters, Born to be..., 1 LOVE, JEWEL, and an unnamed track" then she came out as decided to make it a full length album. But does anyone know what the final track would have been if she kept it a mini album? I have a feeling it was momentum since that is the only other song not mentioned to have a pv. I also wanted to say secret, but I have a feeling she planned on releasing that on the glitter/fated single no matter what, and it just happened that she threw it on the album first, after plans have been changed.

I would have thought momentum, since it has a pv, and then Secret would have been an extra or hidden song a la "Memorial address ~take 2 vers.

roanmy 22nd July 2010 03:11 PM

Wasn't Secret the last song recorded for, well, Secret? =P

jbrat2219 22nd July 2010 03:43 PM

If she had kept it as a mini album and only had added momentum... I think I would have been severely disappointed. She made the right decision to extend the album. :yes

primavera♥ 22nd July 2010 03:49 PM

^mmhmmm. I agree. The more the merrier. I would be missing a few fav ayu songs otherwise.

So I don't think I want a mini-album for the next few singles :) I want a full album with lots of new songs. I rrally don't want the singles to take up all the space.

waterballoon 22nd July 2010 04:02 PM

until that Day... is awesome! though i feel a mini album after the 50th single would be cool

AyuGAME 22nd July 2010 04:08 PM

i just read fast the post from page 15-17 and i feel so weird that there is a lot of "Secret" word on it...what the connection between Secret and Crossroad? can somebody explain it to me please...

Only if the next two singles have one a-side! You need a maximum 8 songs to be a mini album right? There could be MOON, blossom, crossroads, [50th single] and we could have 4 new songs!!!! :D:D:D:D:D

Kazeyomi 22nd July 2010 04:29 PM

well, there's nothing about Crossroad except the chaku-uta preview D: would be pretty boring writes 'omg i luv crossroad, can't wait!!1' only for 17 pages all lol.

But yep, the Secret discussion is a lilttle bit off topic :laugh
