In the case of foreign musc, since I'm living in a Asia country, it's a little more open mind here. My mum listen to ayu too, when I was playing her DVD. Once she even came home telling me she went to a shop, and she recognize ayu's vocal, but she did not heard the song before! Then she asked the shop assistant and they wre indeed playing ayu!
At my office, I have a college who likes ayu too. And of course, my boss is Japanese, so he listen to Japanese songs, he even bought me kana and Alan CDs for my birthday present. He was amazed that I manage to get replies from ayu at twitter, coz she have sooo many followers!

But there are always negative comments, throughout my life of liking jpop and japan culture/fashion, people are calling me blood traitor, because of WWII....

Actually, it's really really surprising that many foreign country peoples like Ayumi Hamasaki, or Japanese music in general.

I'm so surprised when I go to karaoke, and maybe the Canadian people know more Japanese songs than me... it's embarrassing! ahaha. I also wanna say that most white people which I have met have really loved Japanese things, and many of them really like to listen to asian songs, including Japanese and Korean, and those kinds of things, so it's not a matter like "white people are this" or so.

But you know what, in Japan there are exactly the same people as in Canada or America or anywhere. They just listen to Japanese (and sometimes English, but RARELY) and say anything else is so crap, etc. and don't wanna listen. Like Korea songs, or Chinese songs, they will say "it's just garbage and copying of Japanese songs."

But all the world has it's own misconceptions. Like in Korea (and I could discover in Canada and America) with people who say about Japan and we don't apologize and we don't talk about World War II or so... because it's so wrong, no body stops to actually discover what is really going on in the country and what is really being said... So I think it's best to live your own life, like the music you like the best, and don't worry about what others say about your life... if you do, maybe you'll go crazy trying to prove them wrong...

That said, I'd like to say that I think I will fall in love with ANY song if she sings it the way she sang in crossroad, even if she sang ABC song by Michael Jackson... LOL.

Damn, this a big slap on the face to all of those including me who hated the previews of crossroad. It's AMAZING.

I know right? some how they manged to turn garbage into passable music. It's the change in arrangement that makes crossroad shine now :yes

i kinda understand the reason of lacking promotion for L
if L already promoted now, people will get confuse...
i think L will be promoted on the last minutes...just right after crossroad release, then avex will shifting they promotion target like crazy to L

L is being geared up for a commercial flop as it stands right now :yes They either have to announce stuff this week or bump the release date if they want an actual success.

But since it's avex, they won't, and they'll have to do some magic to win L #1 because they're marketting ****ups.

L is bound to sell more than MOON which had no promo at all, besides it will be confusing if they just threw out all the songs right away and try to market both the products at the same time. Plus there are still more than 2 weeks before L gets released. There will be no need for magic, as her biggest competition is SID and MOON did sell 70k with no promo and the best that SID has ever done is around 60k. Welcome back btw ^^

I suppose you're right about L, it just seems sloppy to me tbh. Especially considering the 50th single is the real special one here, but it's been way overshadowed by crossroad

But yeah its very true. The only promo L got so far is the little ballad in the sweet magazine. Its pretty weak imo. As far as I concern, I think they should do something big for the 50th single as they did for like A COMPLETE. But thats probably wishfull thinking I guess.

Idk, maybe the fact that "L" is Ayu's 50th single is already promotion... I mean... MW had just one song, which we already knew part o it in GUILTY, a b-side and 1 PV... I think it sold more just because it was her 10th anniversary and all that...

I mean that those releases that has some special meaning: best albums, 10th/20th anniversary releases, or 50th single are concepts that sell more by itself just for that...

Of course I hope L gets enough promotion and that they updat the ino soon...

me too. but the fact that only 2 of the 3 songs are getting a pv has me wondering. But the fact that it's titled L also has me thinking. I can't figure it out. If it's a triple a-side single and one of them isn't getting a pv, this will be the first time since her H single.

On her last triple-A (& I believe) only two songs got a PV.
