is this the single version of "too late"?

wow sounds a lot more pop-rock. I love the old Ayu projects. they really go out of their way to create a great cohesive album. changing arrangements and styles so that all the singles sound like this super cohesive electropop album.. one more reason LOVEppears is one of my top 3 albums

I think Love Classics suffered pretty badly from... well, just sounding very amateurish. It sounds like a VERY promising & intriguing proof-of-concept or demo, but it doesn't sound finished at all, and it certainly doesn't sound like something on a major label =\ It's an entertaining listen, an interesting novelty perhaps, but it's reeeeaaallly weak. :(

And yes, that's the single version. :)

I don't think I've ever heard the single ver. of too late. I like it! Prefer the album version though.

I enjoyed it for the most part when it was released, but I must say without a doubt that Party Queen is ayu's worst album to date, hands down. Eyes, smoke, magic and the next LOVE are not listenable for me. I enjoy PQ, hbya, RR, reminds me, and tell me why, but I don't listen to them often at all. The other songs are just OK.

TheRainbow 1st September 2015 11:14 PM

I enjoy Party Queen haha, though the first 3 tracks don't do anything for me.

Pieces_of_SEVEN 1st September 2015 11:17 PM

^nanana, shake it, call, and letter are alright, I just find that I NEVER listen to them. It was a weird time in ayu's career, I think.

melissalove 2nd September 2015 03:14 AM

So much hate for party queen, when I love it so much. lol

Gustavopc 2nd September 2015 03:41 AM

I got used to Party Queen over the years... Now I can see what she inteded with the album, but when it came out I was too shocked (I guess that's the best word unfortunately) with the whole package. But I always loved reminds me from the beginning, what a gem.

I love call and Letter! Even if they don't feel very Ayu, they're memorable to me. :yes

Wow this is the first time ever I heard this one. I never knew too late single version was different from the album version it sounds great!!

They probably re-arranged it so it can fit the album.

Was reading April issue of Idea magazine about Graphic Design History in Japan in my college's library. Apparently, some of Ayu's covers are featured! :love

I love it how different the single version is compared to the album version. I really enjoyed listening to A single through because of it. :) There's more songs on LOVEppears that were more or less different when they were released on singles. I think it's awesome. They should do that again at some point. It would make her albums more interesting/surprising. I know I was surprised when I heard different versions of some songs. I didn't know they modified them so much. :D

Ooooh~ !
And what they say about them ?

oaristos 2nd September 2015 02:24 PM

The LOVEppears cover art is so iconic.

Minttulatte 2nd September 2015 03:37 PM

When I saw LOVEppears cover art I was like, "what a slut". I really hated all sexy looking singers at the time. But that thought was quickly forgotten because my heart and soul were stolen by this epic album XD These days I really don't mind it because the music is good but I bet the cover was a total shock to Japanese people.

terra 2nd September 2015 04:02 PM

^Same here, I was so traditional minded back then I thought exactly the same about that cover. And I thought "Slutty cat lady? Really?" back when I saw Duty lol

Minttulatte 2nd September 2015 04:19 PM

^Yeah, Duty was another one I thought "Wtf is this bitch trying? Stop being sexy, it's not cool" but ironically that album is now my #3 favorite Ayu release ((miss)understood and Memorial address are my #1 and #2 favs), lol. :roflmao

Gustavopc 2nd September 2015 05:14 PM

I never found either of these covers to be sexy tbh :laugh LOVEppears has a somewhat raw atmosphere, and the colors in Duty are so sober that even with a sexy-esque pose she camouflages with the scenario and it fades the potential (and I honestly see that as her intetion)

On another topic, is there any kind of databank or list with ayu singles that had any bonuses, different content or alternate presses? Like, I know A and H had lots of different prints, but did & have anything special?
