Oh! I had had the doubt because it sounded too different from the other songs' voice, plus too perfect, yeah. I don't really mind if she lipsynched it, I think she put it in there to remind the fans of her debut so the choice of lipsynching it might be because she wanted to show her "old" voice and create this nostalgic feeling... idk! thanks for clarifying btw :D

poker face seems somewhat obvious imo. Usually you can tell because she uses the headset and the vocals are mysteriously perfect. CAROLS was probably not lipsynched.

oh you mean that!! I knew about the PCDL's one but not that of CDL 05-06! I will be checking it soon, me curious~ so pokerface is definetely lipsynched uh. it was kinda obvious now that you all point it out lol. i'm naive :( something like this happened also with honey at PCDL right?

kaggy87 2nd January 2014 01:21 PM

What do you mean? PCDL was whole lipsynched if you're asking about that due to her hand injury.

Kaggy:
So far no info about airing :(

truehappiness 2nd January 2014 01:39 PM

I thought only a few sections were not live in PCDL? I mean for the ones that weren't live, it was SUPER obvious. Putting out a live CD if it was all not her singing was weird then, hm....

maxikot 2nd January 2014 01:52 PM

Oh, i may be wrong, just had such impression from discussions and myself too.

tsumekaze_ 2nd January 2014 02:12 PM

I don't think PCDL is lipsynched As a whole...the cutesy section sure is lipsynched but the opening(green/will) is live for sure in my opinion. :) probably there are some more lipsynched songs on there but I think it's due to the fact that she performed so many songs (probably also because of her hand injury)

miki_beland 2nd January 2014 02:37 PM

I think it was entirely lipsynched until Real me

njanjayrp 2nd January 2014 03:20 PM

Yeah I think a lot of PCDL perfs were lsed, but not all~ Her hand injury is hardly affecting her ability to sing...especially considering that she's half deaf and still singing.

LEOyumi 2nd January 2014 03:27 PM

I think only the performances with the headmic were lipsynched on PCDL? There were plenty of live songs on that show, you can easily tell in the TV version since her voice is really different.

kaito_moonlove 2nd January 2014 03:45 PM

Maybe that time her half-deaf effected to her singing skill very much and the injury on her hand also has a bad effect to her health so she can't be well-prepared for PCDL.
But she got the balance again in the following years. That's just the past and now, all of us should give give her a break.
Even though Carols in CDL 2013-2014 is lip-synched or not, she has tried her best and CDL is over too. We needn't to discuss about this question anymore. Just waiting for the TV version or the DVD/Bluray news !
In January, the show of TV Asashi will be full released soon and the news about "Pray" will be reported soon ! Right !? :) That will be the events for us to discuss !

I completely agree :D

This is just my opinion and not meant to offend as I know some wont view this the same way. I used to like Ayu alot despite all the Lip Sync stuff but I just feel she's just went from bad to worse over the past few years concerts wise. It has became too over crowded with too many dancers, acrobats, backing singers with similar costumes and themes. I keep checking in to see if things have improved cos I wanna like her shows again but always feel like hrmph nah nothings got any better.

I'm totally sick of the Surreal - Evolution - Surreal combo, the air acrobatics and those annoying acrobats either dressed up as clowns all the time or in german type soldier outfits. Blended in with other songs that the costumes or dancing don't even fit in with. Everything seems predictable. I dont want to hear Timmy screeching wearing the same hooker outfit and feather shoulder pads. In fact I don't really like or want to see any of the backing singers be in the show much lol they should be backing singers.. when they do the band interludes how many times do we need to listen to them make WOHOAHAOAOHAOAHAOAOOOOOOOOH sounds to try and match the keyboard lol none of them sound great at all period lol! What do they really bring?

I wish Ayu would just strip it all back, ditch 2 of the backing singers (timmy for def) and have two normal dressed backing singers mixed in with the band. Make it about her performances with a group of only about 6-8 dancers (fresh faces) its all becoming abit tired with some of them.. especially the guy who spins round for every solo he does and is mostly always off balance. Have some fresh ideas for the performances instead of the constant use of fans, schoolwear/maid look, spit up the side trousers, red and black pvc and splattered clothes with paint.

In the past few years I've only really saw one or two performances in the whole concert or song choices that I thought great that was good or fresher cos we have not heard that in a while. Then however its 90% of a let down with all the other crap mentioned above. I really think she needs to reinvent and go in a new direction. I dunno if anyone feels the same?

I will be interested to see what this CDL is like, I'm hoping there is some improvements I've heard the staging was different for example but we will see.

I kind of feel the same sometimes but that's all about japanese music industry, they tend to maintain the usual, see AKB48, the girls are just reciclying over and over crap japanese generic pop music and sells tons of every release... this is how they do it over there. Usually when artists try to innovate or go another way most of their audience give them up. Ayu's concerts are typical japanese idol concerts, if you do some research you'll see that most of them have that same structure. One thing is, you do need to get used to that because things aren't gonna change too much or soon. Ayu has developed a lot since her debut and she tries new things in her own way and methods. Afterall she needs to entertain her main audience, the japanese people.

They are buying time.

What was the last concert you liked? That will probably give us an insight as to what you enjoyed. POWER of MUSIC happened which was majorly stripped down, but we got the 'upgraded' version which wasn't as simple.

Ayu is more into making full scale 'productions' with the concerts lately, which is why they're so saturated with dancers. A lot of them seem to be gone... but it's the dancers plus the acrobats plus the 'other' performers that make it seem like she has so many.

We also have to consider that she is catering to her fans with all of the lives after a certain point... maybe 2003-2004 onward?

I feel that a lot of the older concerts are pretty bad compared to the newer ones, tbh.

brener 2nd January 2014 09:42 PM

Ending the show with an upbeat tune and cutting off the 'kawaii section' this year is already a huge move.

Interludes work better I feel to buy time and set up the next song rather than fill it with those wailing vocals I've yet to hear one of them that sounded decent doing it in my opinion.

Yep I did really like the Power of Music stripped back idea.. it was starting to feel hrm this is fresh with the round stage and the versions of the songs. I saw Rock and Roll Circus Tour live at Yoyogi and it was great as well but after that it just felt like the clowns and acrobats stuck around far too long into the next concerts making it seen that done it before. Now they are always there lol!

Having last year's anniversary live be opened by timmy wailing just put me totally off from the start.. i mean wtf was that all about how can anyone think that was a good opening lol. It was the 15th anniversary lol it should have been classic ayu.. the video screen opening was poor too.

truehappiness 2nd January 2014 11:05 PM

A BEST LIVE was intended to be a trip down memory lane in a way. I expect AT14 to be her first 'fresh' tour in a while since AT10.

POWER of MUSIC - sudden change to stripped down
HOTEL Love songs - leftover tour from a year prior
A BEST LIVE - Ayu 'refreshing' old performances and such

AT14 SHOULD be her first completely 'new' concert since AT10/Rock'n'Roll Circus.

brener 2nd January 2014 11:23 PM

Her new album will tell us something about what the concept of AT14 will be like..

I'm not that insisting on upbeat tune to end the show but I'm glad it's not a typical 'ending' song, unfortunately, B&D ended the main concert part of AT2006 so it may feel like there should be another encore coming next, I still believe Melody would make a great double encore and great ending but I want to see B&D first.

Totally agree on cutting the cute part since it's hardly cute, more like embarassing in my opinion. Cute Sexy Little Things, AT2010 style would do, but anything Shake it AT2012 style was horrible imo.
