EDIT: damn, AVEX are up to their old tricks, it's in freaking mono and 480P!

^ let’s give it a day or so...the same thing happened when they uploaded all her PVs, they initially were in lower quality and then a day or two later they were in 1080. If it doesn’t change though it could just be that it was not edited in higher quality than 480...has there ever been an HD rebroadcast if CDL 2004-2005? I know there was one for 05-06.

I wonder if this had anything to do with some YouTube channels that had posted full dvd rips of her shows, and they were on YouTube for a good long while...but this is actually a smart way for Avex to monetize the concerts again if nobody is buying the dvds anymore. But this probably means no HD remastered bluray concert collection.

EDIT: According to Ayu’s twitter post, these will only be online until March 31. They will stream more shows after that. Maybe they ARE gonna try to hype up for a bluray concert collection...

CDL 2004-2005
- 648x480 (aspect ratio 4:3)
- Audio: AAC 44100Hz mono 71kbps

CDL 2005-2006
- 854x476 (aspect ratio 16:9)
- Audio: AAC 44100Hz stereo 95kbps

i have her older show like this in VCD (or tv version), i really hope avex will contd upload her older show so i can collect and put it in my external hard disk.

They're doing this as a sort of "charity" because of coronavirus, so that people who have to stay at home can get entertainment, i guess it's a kind of a compensation for the concerts being cancelled. So, I doubt it's their way of promoting an upcoming release

A lot of Japanese media is doing this at the moment. Lots of manga magazines are putting up back issues for a month while kids are not in school for coronavirus or anime episodes are up for free on YouTube so they have stuff to watch or do while they're at home. They actually said a bit ago that they'd be putting up concerts as apologies for concerts being canceled for now.

Oh, thank you for the correction...I didn't really look at what the message said tbh, I just did a quick glance at the last tweet in the thread. That's very nice of them. When Avex does something I tend to assume they're trying to get people to buy something, but this is nice. It reminds me of the charity releases they did in the past, such as Song Nation. Good on Avex for doing this.

I wonder how they encoded the videos because it's either they didn't encode it for YouTube so the compression is tripped up, or the people who uploaded the concerts only has an LQ file from the get go. The quality here is DEFINITELY worse off than the DVD version.

I'm just happy that my favorite Ayu concert is up. CDL 05-06 still holds up image wise, even the editing on the audio is beautifully done.

Since people are going to watch this more on smartphones than TVs, I guess they don't see as an issue the bad quality.

Rewatching the TV version, her vocals are fine there. CDL TV versions are/were notoriously horribly mixed too. I remember one CDL they had PECO more audible than Ayu. Only major blunder IIRC was extreme close up when she totally gave away that she was not really singing theme of a-nation '03.

Yeah, I went back to watch the AVI file. Aderianu reuploaded a while back on GDrive. From that period a lot of the lives aren't the HD ones anyway.

I remember how shocked I was once I watched the edited version for the first time, after seeing the live broadcast one.

If I remember correctly, she messed up lyrics in Startin' and they fixed it in the edited broadcast and dvd. I love both CDL04-05 and 05-06, definitely some of my favorite performances.

^ Yeah, the beginning of the second part, and you can barely notice the voice change. She also was caught lip syncing to theme of a-nation when the camera was focusing on her with her mouth not matching the voice/lyrics.

Even with all of this, the concert is one of my favorites, and that was the peak of her beauty to me.
