aww, that sucks! :(

is shota more of an album seller? maybe his new album will do better! :)

KarenPang 22nd January 2011 12:39 AM

Shota generally lodges like top 15 positions for his singles but yeah he's much stronger when comes to albums

Journey became his 1st release to hit #1 . Umbrella didn't though

But Umbrella did sell 160k, where Journey only sold 115k, so the position in the end doesn't really say anything, haha.

KarenPang 22nd January 2011 10:12 AM

it's generally assumed that the debut album of an artiste will sell the best outta all the albums even though there're exception cases

Umbrella sold more than Journey yes but it was a boring as hell album , I haven't finish listening to the album & already on track 4 , I'm bored to hell on it

Journey's different for me to handle . Everything all sound so much better & it lodged a #1 for Shota . I don't care so much that it sold worst than Umbrella ~_~

KarenPang 26th January 2011 10:38 AM

YOU & I is at #12 today on the 1st day

http://www.oricon.co.jp/rank/js/d/

KarenPang 26th January 2011 05:25 PM

the full YOU & I single is up for download here

I will listen to the B-sides after I wake up xD

Beauty4123 26th January 2011 06:38 PM

i wanted him to get into the top 10. :( i just hope it won't drop too much throughout the week.

KarenPang 27th January 2011 01:09 AM

somehow , Shota always tend to release singles during weeks when there're a lot of stiff competition :x

at least for albums , he fare much better

Beauty4123 27th January 2011 01:50 AM

for albums, shota's up against kumi on march 2nd, though. i wonder who could get #1? :P

KarenPang 27th January 2011 01:53 AM

no his new album will be released on 9th March which's a bad day to release albums because the following artistes will be releasing albums on that day

1) EXILE
2) 2 GLAY B-sides compilations
3) L'arc's 20th anniversary compilations

so :dead2

anyway I listen to the YOU & I's B-sides earlier on & I was shocked that Kimi no Koe is close to 7 mins long :dead

which's like almost 2.5 times the duration length of YOU & I , LOL

Beauty4123 27th January 2011 01:55 AM

LOL oops! :laugh there's just so much releases so my memory is getting mixed up! :roflmao

i think EXILE will be the biggest threat. GLAY's popular, but it's just a b-side best. and laruku could totally be the second threat for shota. it's a very scary battle, LOL.

KarenPang 27th January 2011 01:59 AM

LOL it's easy to remember Shota Shimizu's 3rd album release date because 9th March is where the following material will be released from 3 different artistes but they're all under Sony BMG at the end of the day :p

- YUI's HOLIDAYS IN THE SUN DVD
- UVERworld's new single
- Shota's new album

then again , usually Shota does much better for albums unlike for his singles

hayasaki 27th January 2011 12:41 PM

...and i'm loving Kimi No Koe. I have never loved any of his songs this much!!! Though yeah, i love majority of them... but I hella freakin' love the emotions that this song gives. His B-Sides ROCK!!!!

KarenPang 30th January 2011 02:44 AM

I wouldn't lie that I was shocked when I found out Kimi no Koe is 6:50 mins , almost 2.5 times longer than YOU & I :tired :dead2

but the song has grown on me a lot & I also like the acoustic of Kimi ga Suki :love

The position is lower but he did outsell GOODBYE and Kimi ga Karasu Machi's first weeks! In comparison, this single did better ^^

The competition was simply stronger.

KarenPang 2nd February 2011 03:03 PM

I don't know if I should say this but everytime you talk about sales in any thread I see you replying to , I'm always amused

like how do you bother to keep yourself updated as to how much worth of sales an artiste's , be it for singles or albums they release ? o_O

for me , I can't be bothered really . It's such a chore & I know my most fave JRock artiste can't sell for nuts but they make amazing music so :shrug

===

where're the preorder links for Shota's 3rd album now :grumpy

Nackar_91 2nd February 2011 03:29 PM

Because I like it. I can be bothered, and I think it's interesting.

How much an artist sells doesn't influence my opinion though. I like how AKB48 sells truckloads, but I don't like their music, and I love JAY'ED but he can barely sell 1000 copies with his singles.

Beauty4123 2nd February 2011 05:38 PM

if he outsold the first weeks of his previous singles, then i guess that's good, lol. :P the single's still great, anyway.

i wonder if his new album will have 1 or 2 more songs like GOODBYE...? :luv2

It's not that hard to find sales on an artist. You make it sound like Nackar_91 has no life and only pays attention to sales. It's just not that hard to go to "J-Pop Stop" then type in "Goodbye (Shimizu Shota)" or "Kimi ga whatever" into the search bar and then find the sales.
