i wish i can gat the limited edition~~ :(

Partino 6th November 2011 08:38 AM

preordered~ :3 ... who needs an iphone 4S if you can have our queen in HD?!

A-TeensFan 6th November 2011 11:27 AM

I preordered on Amazon as it's my wish that she re-released Clip Box in BR (read Five BR thread). But for 300$ it'd better have:
- An awesome box design
- A photobook included. I don't want lyric sleeves like the old Clip Box. Please a a photobook or artworks...
- All videos are with optional Ayu and/or director's commentary so we would know her PVs better.
- I know a lot of videos on this release will be HD-upscaled (like heavy-CGI-using videos like Forgiveness, Starting,...) or videos that don't have good source (like filmed on tape or SD digital formats...) but Avex pls remastered the videos that were filmed on good quality film so this BR release would be in its perfect sense.
- Please leave 4:3 videos as they are. don't zoom, don't crop them. 16:9 videos which weren't filmed in anamorphic you can crop but please don't crop native 4:3 videos.

My mistake, they have not been released on blu-ray but they HAVE been remastered into HD. These HD versions are in syndication all over the world for channels who have the right to show them. I have seen them myself (for both shows).

And I know, for at least Friends, the images are not zoomed or cropped. As I explained previously, the source of the footage is not a 4:3 video but a 35mm film. The film was then cropped to 4:3 as was the norm at the time. However, the source film is not 4:3, its actually widescreen like in motion pictures (where this film is used) with enough information to create a HD picture. So the film is re-scanned and remastered, using the wider aspect ratio available and thus making a 16:9 version.

I'm sure this is the same thing that Seinfeld did - look this up on google, there are pages on information on this topic and the shows HD versions.

The whole point is, this could have happened with many of Ayu's earlier clips. They have been filmed on a source where a HD and/or widescreen version could be created. They wouldn't be releasing a blu-ray unless they had something like this up their sleeve for the majority of her PVs.

If her 4:3 videos are just that - with no source to create a HD version - they will be left as is, for sure. No right minded studio or company would crop a 4:3 video to fit widescreen because you can do that yourself on a blu-ray player.

Yeah you are right, but for some of the shots the image had to be zoomed because it appeared stuff that wasn't supposed. Anyways, Friends do look good, there was some color correction which does look much better then any DVD release.
As for ayu, I still think we will have everything in the same aspect ratios, no point on changing what is already good.

If I do order this, I'll try and remember to use the CDJapan link here on AHS. I forgot last time when I ordered FIVE. Right now, just trying to find the money to pay for this.

yukito 6th November 2011 05:06 PM

Mwahahhaha, I bet the CM will be something like that, starting on poker face and then fast forwarding through her entire videography, something like:
hamasaki ayumi, then a little bit of poker face then fast forward till her last clip then 1sec of silence and then the guy, A CLIP BOX... coming soon... AVEX TRAX. Ta-dah.

Not including videos that are simply long CMs and remixes it's in the 90s I think, not quite 100.
According to this list: http://secsecae.multiply.com/journal/item/10 it's 87 PVs + the FIVE PVs + the trilogy, so 95(96 including Dream ON).

douggn 7th November 2011 12:55 AM

basically blowing my ayu budget for half a year in one hit for this but who care, all her PV's in one nice box with the CM's to boot. I hope other PV's mean the special DUTY PV from her CR game thing :P but other than that, basically only Blossom has 2 PV's, not much different and Dearest which has a Acoustic ver. PV

Thanks for pointing that out! I really believed that she'd made 100 pv's. :laugh 87 + FIVE's PV's and the others = still an very very very impressive number! :O

Don't they count the CMs that they usually count for A/H/etc. as 'PVs'/video clips though?

>o< must have BDs

yukito 7th November 2011 08:58 AM

I was just thinking about something. On the first tracklist we got to see, the PVs for the singles where by chronological order and then the album PVs followed after, I seriously hope it will be all in the right order, because it will suck big time to have stuff like this. On the Complete Clip Box it was all arranged by order let's hope for the same here.

truehappiness 7th November 2011 09:23 AM

I think it's probably preliminary since the release date isn't for another few months.

I'd be surprised if it was were not chronological.

yukito 7th November 2011 09:47 AM

^ I hope that is the case, I'd be rather disappointed if that wasn't the case, but let's just wait and see.

ayumisrael 7th November 2011 10:09 AM

I kind of hope they would put original pvs and different/cut versions on somewhere else or afterwards or something. xD

I agree with you completely. Hopefully it will be like that. Where do you think the CMs will be? All put together like avex did with Do As Infinity for the Boxset?
People that don't know they put since the first single the 15 and 30 sec for singles, albums, dvds, lives and compilations.
