I'm disappointed. It's a slug-fest all the way through (minus High by the Beach and Freak). I don't understand why I can't get into her albums anymore. I love her aesthetic. I love her voice. I love her lyrics. But the music is just so damn boring. God. I have no favorite track, but I guess High by the Beach can be one.

Lol HBTB is my fav song from the album too!!
I played it at the beach with friends, it was really fun.

I finally listened the album through twice and my favs are Salvatore, High By The Beach and Music To Watch Boys To. I like other songs too, but I need to listen them more. I also think that Honeymoon is more like a sequel to Ultraviolence rather than a reminder of Born To Die and Paradise. I don't have any issues with this nor am I butthurt over this though like some people on last.fm are. :roflmao

I do not think Lana meant to say that when an album will remind you of BTD, it will be an upbeat album. Clearly she was pointing towards the atmosphere. BTD had also some kind of 'living the dream' concept but then the dream of a wannabe popstar / exotic girl / outcast

EDIT: Speaking of, Honeymoon actually did remind me of some BTD songs like Body Electric, Million Dollar Man and Carmen for example.

NintendoHTF1242 22nd September 2015 09:09 PM

I personally don't think this album reminds me of anything of Born to Die. It's just another retread of Ultraviolence with more strings. Gonna go and listen to Born to Die and Paradise lol

I think Paradise is her weakest release lol. Never listen to it. I'd love an album of unreleased tracks, tho. I don't like all of them, but some are just so amazing ;_;

She's done a session on BBC Radio 1 performing High By The Beach, Terrence Loves You, and Honeymoon (I love the ending of honeymoon) http://pitchfork.com/news/61304-lana...dio-1-session/

Her voice is like a magnet pulling me into her.......

oaristos 28th September 2015 06:38 PM

Honeymoon is #2 on Billboard with 105,000 copies sold.
Ultraviolence debuted at #1 with 182,000 copies, and Born to Die at #2 with 77,000.

Lana's top 10- um top 50 smash certainly helped her get that 100k

NintendoHTF1242 28th September 2015 07:28 PM

The strings at the end of Off to the Races always gives me the chills... Recently fell in love with this song all over again.

Young and Beautiful keeps playing in my head...

TBH i'm pretty impressed with the sales figures of HoneyMoon!
Ultraviolence sold a lot because it was hyped up and she was coming off having a huge mainstream hit "Summer Time Sadness" but the album itself had little to no longevity on the charts, usually when that happens the album after it debuts with a much much lower # because the audience gave her previous album a try, didn't like it and so won't return. But this is quite surprising Lana, lets see how HoneyMoon fares with longevity.

Music To Watch Boys To

aliceshields 1st October 2015 02:54 AM

^ this song kept repeating over in my mind while I try to sleep last night but sleepless night XP

And, I like her headphones :P

xLuna&1LOVE 1st October 2015 08:10 AM

I enjoyed the videoclip, it is gorgeous!

oaristos 1st October 2015 10:08 PM

For some reason I can totally picture Music To Watch Boys To (especially because of its lyrics) in The Virgin Suicides by Sofia Coppola. It would fit the movie beautifully.

Refix 3rd October 2015 07:34 AM

Funny, the only thing I don't like in the video clip was... Lana!
I don't know, maybe because the hairstyle, maybe her chubby face, maybe that unnatural hand acting things, maybe that smile (I like pouty gloomy Lana), maybe that low neck black dress (she looks unflattering, like trying too hard to look sexy... like that one diva).
Other scene was nice, the girls are like Sirens or so, gorgeous. And the boys, too bad can't see their face... somehow I wish the boys playing volleyball on beach, shirtless, sands on their wet tan skin, testosterone everywhere... ugh. Or doing surfing.

^ chubby face lol ok

He's already said before that he finds her fat. I think she has a healthy weight to me? She carries it a little strangely in places but she's definitely not chubby :laugh
