I really think Ayu seemed so...new in in the PVs of Sixxxxxx. Like, I know some of it still seemed pretty her, but at the same time, she had this whole new, fresh image that seemed really different from her earlier days.

I remember when the Real Me PV was released and everyone was freaking out because she was dancing! And using English! lol I was probably one of them, but I think I enjoyed the song too much to care about the PV.

I remember how before the PV for Rule got released, she teased that she's done the most dancing out of every PV. Everyone got so excited but the result wasn't that impressive. Still a feat for Ayu I guess. :laugh

I always liked her dancing in Real Me. I thought it was pretty cool.

I wonder what it is about her...she just can't seem to dance. XD Which is kind of hilarious, but considering the things she learned over the years, you would think a good dance instructor would be helpful!

Though I could see that maybe dancing just isn't the way she expresses herself.

Is there a new mini album in the works already for December? I saw it on her generasia page, and yeah I know that's not reliable source but I saw the same thing for sixxxxxx before it was announced.

i haven't known about ayu when this album got released, but the LOVEppears cover never did anything for me. I don't even think it is sexy because it is just really bland. she is just standing there in the most boring way possible. sans shirt, yes, but you can't see anything, and she still looks very innocent. not exciting or provocative at all, IMO but I wonder what she wanted to express with this cover???

I am very interested to why she is in dark make up for the appears single :o , never found out the significance of that. any ideas? I'd love to hear them :)

I was definitely one of those people. haha xD I mean, I didn't know her when it was released but when I was catching up on MV's and I saw she was dancing I remember doing a little squeal like a girl. 'EEeeeekkkk~~ She's dancing!!!' I mean, it's nothing extraordinary but I still thought it was cool. And I think I'm in the minority here but I like it when Ayu use's english. She doesn't do it all the time (or at least, didn't) and so whenever I'm listening to a song and there's an english sentence or word I'm like 'Oh yeah. Look at me understanding Ayumi Hamasaki. I'm so good.' xD

Well, back in the day I connected all kinds of nudity to sluttyness so I didn't like it. I was a insecure teenager at the time who was filled with hate towards pretty much everything except my flawless video game soundtracks or Utada Hikaru's albums (except Exodus at the time) that I thought were the best thing in the world. Everything else, especially nudity and all sorts of sexy made me think like, "this person is a slut, therefore I hate her", but after I started listening to Koda Kumi I pretty much stopped thinking that way so thanks to her crazy sexy stunts, lol. These days LOVEppears cover is actually kinda cute. It's not my favorite cover, but it's not bad either. :)

I don't mind her using English either because she doesn't really use it that much in her songs compared to other singers I listen to. Actually it's quite rare for Ayu to have much English in her songs, and I like it that way. It's like a part of her style. :D

She is white on the album cover and black on the single cover... On a racial way, not just colors... You can see her facial traits are slightly edited on both...

I used to find the LOVEppears covers unsettling because nudity made me uncomfortable but now I don't always associate it with sexuality. In fact, I don't think the purpose was to be sexy. In my opinion, considering how she felt so insecure with her career and how she was on the verge quitting, I feel like the cover has a lot to say and yet I can't seem to come up with any real description at the moment.

One of the things about her album covers, though I believe this to be true of mostly her older ones is that I feel as though the music and the lyrics help explain the whole meaning to her covers and overall image of the time she released those particular CDs.

I wonder if anyone actually prefers version J or WHATEVER over version M. I'm not sure if I've ever listened to J in full, but M is really amazing.

I refuse to acknowledge that version J is the "original" version because it's kinda bland compared to version M and also version M is the one on CDs and concert set lists etc. The Eurobeat remix of it was a huge improvement on version J.

Do you know why? I am curious what the meaning of that cover art is.
