That's really mean and I wish that this term would have never exist.

I always thought that it meant stalker+fan like a really obsessed fan.

I don't think it's mean at all. stan is for all those people that love every single song by an artist. have seen every video, live performance, heard every song over and over and over. defend them till death do them part. (in other words, their artist can never do any wrong and they can never be harmed or less than perfect). you know...all that good stuff.

anyway , yay 2 weeks + before Can We Go Back is released but I don't think it will get #1 as much as I hate to say this T_T X____X

the only good reason i think will make people buy it, is Good Day. because CWGB is already gonna be on the new album, which isnt released that long after the single.
we can only hope for the best though.

but i REALLY REALLY want UNIVERSE to go to number 1!

@Picaflor: if thats what being a "stan" is, then i am without a doubt a Kumi stan. xD (besides the part about her doing no wrong, i dont agree with that.)

I'm sure the single will get top 5 but #1 ? I'm not sure especially since UNIVERSE will be out a mere 2 weeks after that in which fans might probably save up $ to get the album instead of getting the single

also it doesn't help that both editions of Can We Go Back are deemed limited releases/pressings just like the case for anytime

she's going to face off against YUI's GLORIA on 20th which's why I said so & YUI has been getting straight #1's singles from SUMMER SONG all the way to It's all too much / Never say die

Yeah, I'm worried that this single won't get #1... But then again, honestly, it doesn't really deserve it. There's only two songs, just a regular A-side B-side, and then the instrumentals for them... The A-side is good, but it's not incredibly great and it's only a cover. The B-side is just okay, too, in my opinion. So yeah. I won't be surprised at all if this doesn't make number one. :shrug Of course, I still wish she would...

And yeah, "-stan" totally comes from the song Stan. Funny, even though I'm a big Eminem fan, I had never heard of the term, either, until coming here, but I knew immediately what it was from. I think it is very slowly becoming an Internet specific slang on different music sites, I guess.

Stan is a great song . I love both versions where it featured Dido & Sir Elton John on vocals

Dido wasn't present when Eminem did Stan live at the Grammy's a few years back so Sir Elton John took her place & sang her part with piano which I think that's cool

Oh yeah, I forgot, this is kind of a special single, too.... This single is very much like anytime, isn't it? A kind of laid back song combined with an upbeat cover, and both are limited or whatever, hah? Only, the sides are reversed, and this single is much better (I think, at least).

And oh my God, the Elton John version is awesome! XP I love his voice, hah.

I don't really care about KUMI's singles getting #1 because she only has a handful of number 1s and she's almost released 50 singles. I would be very disappointed if her album failed to reach #1 though. I'm really excited for more news on the album! I hope they release previews of the new songs soon... one month until its release!

hmm...mind telling me which middleman you use? i want to join as a member too....i always love those FC versions.

I don't care if this single gets the #1, (for example 4 hot wave (the best single 4 me) gets the no.2 with 207,484 sales, and this single deserves the no.1)
But with the album maybe the sales are low

Umm I think the album/best is going to sell a LOT tbh. I don't really care about the single sales, I don't expect them to be high because most of her singles sell bad lately no matter how good they are. I really have to question Japan's taste sometimes because TABOO is IMO one of her best singles and had such mediocre sales :no.
