Well... Personally I think it will come out better if everyone sings seperately, with maybe a couple of two- or three-part harmonies thrown in. (As much as I'd love four, I don't see it happening, lol.) But that's just how I would arrange it. I do think it would sound a heck of a lot better than everyone singing together. At the same time. Now THAT would be a mess! :laugh

I laughed at that first video; I'm sorry, I'm not even trying to be mean, but the first 2 girls kinda sucked, then those 2 guys on the video screens blow them out of the water with these super impassioned vocals, then those dudes start rapping some nonsense, then Namie is like, screaming, then that woman shrieks "You are the one" in this high-pitched cat wail....OMG. Comedy only the 90s could bring.

I actually really like You are the One, but it has to be taken in context. Those were most of the top famous artists of the time and that song kind of emphasized what those artists were most famous for at that period.(which accounts for the weird parts that you mentioned.) Komuro took those aspects from each artist and emphasized them big time. So actually, I wouldn't be surprised if we hear Ayu's most crazy vibratto ever in THNX A Lot.... :)
What always stood out to me most in this song though were that Namie's vocals were clearly the best. As others have been mentioning, we might see the same thing happen in THNX A Lot with Koda Kumi.

Some part of me believes that all these artists had no choice in it. I'm pretty sure avex is trying to create a second Komuro boom, and that they're forcing Komuro onto everyone--again--but I like him, so I have no problem with that.

And also, I heard previews of the instrumental version. It sounds like a typically, happy, Jpop song. There's some sort of "clapping" sound in it, kind of like "sunrise"--and it just sounds pretty good to me. I don't think it's going to be all message-y or anything.

I think the reason so many people aren't looking forward to this is because they all have their own reservations about the other artists.

That's how I feel. Besides ayu, kuu, and ai, I don't really want anyone else on the track >_<

Thanks for the info. I was kind of scared it'd be some sort of ballad. The thing is, I like most of these artists, but it's their voices.. they just don't seem like they'd work together at all and there would be too much of a contrast and end up sounding extremely messy/weird.

I place myself firmly in the "This is going to be terrible, but highly entertaining" camp. I may be pleasantly surprised, but, either way, I'm highly curious to see how this will turn out.

Ayu will probably have a real small part in the song. In a standard 5 person group, if each person sings equally (solo part, not singing part of the chorus) they really aren't left much. :/

How many people are singing in this song? like 10? Ayu will probably have a very small part. Assuming she pitches in with the chorus, it will just mesh with the other 9 voices. But I still hope it will be good. With so many people singing, I really don't even consider it an ayu song.

^There's a lot more than 10, I think... There's 9 with everyone not counting the people from the groups AAA, GND, ICONIQ. I don't know who's a vocalist and who's not in those bands so I didn't factor them in.

In AAA all 7 members are vocalists but there are 3 main; Takahiro Nishijima, Naoya Urata and Misako Uno. However I feeling that it will be the 2 girls, Misako and Chiaki Ito singing because that seems to be how TK favourites from the group

In GND there is one female vocalist; Chisa.

And ICONIQ is just one person.

I wonder when we'll get to hear a studio version of this.
