Tegomass & Akanishi Jin to appear on MUSIC STATION on 2/18

According to MUSIC STATION’s announcement during the latest episode on February 4th, Tegomass and Akanishi Jin will be performing on the next episode on February 18th.

Since there will be no MUSIC STATION next week due to the broadcast of the anime “Doraemon 3 Hours SP“, the setlists have not been revealed yet. However, the performances will possibly be “Aoi Bench” (set to be released on February 16th) for Tegomass, and “Eternal” (will be released on March 2nd) for Akanishi.

Other guests will be AKB48, Tokyo Jihen, Galileo Galilei, and Kobukuro.

Jin Akanishi to collaborate with Jason Derulo for first U.S. single

Before his concert on Sunday, Jin Akanishi held a press conference to talk about his upcoming U.S. plans. He announced that his debut U.S. single will be a collaboration with singer-songwriter Jason Derulo, produced by J. R. Rotem.

Akanishi said that he plans to release a full album this fall, and one of the songs will be a collaboration written by Derulo. The song is still being worked on, but he indicated that it would be a pop tune.

Derulo debuted in 2009 with the hit song "Whatcha Say," which was also produced by Rotem. Rotem also produced his later songs, such as "In My Head" and "Ridin' Solo."

Besides the news of his single, Akanishi announced that he will release a DVD of his current tour on May 4, titled "Yellow Gold Tour 3011."

Popular group KAT-TUN will be releasing a new song for Kanebo’s upcoming CM!

The song will be titled “WHITE”, and will be used to promote Kanebo’s new skin whitening products. “WHITE” is said to have a lively and refreshing melody, with women providing some backing vocals to give the song a big impact.

Actress Hada Michiko and model Matsumoto Takami will both be making appearances in the commercial.

Weekly entertainment magazine Ori Star recently announced the results of its latest survey, asking for their fans’ favorite song by their favorite artist.

Arashi top’s track was “Monster”, the theme song to the drama “Kaibutsu-Kun” which stars member Ohno Satoshi. Kamenashi Kazuya to be a “special announcer” for NTV’s live baseball coverage

KAT-TUN’s Kamenashi Kazuya has been appointed to be a special announcer for NTV’s live coverage of baseball games for the program, “Dramatic Game 1844“!

This year, NTV will broadcast 22 of the Yomiuri Giants‘ games at the Tokyo Dome. As their special announcer, Kamenashi will appear at almost every game. He will sit in the second announcer’s position, be in charge of special segments, and lend a spirited voice for each game’s coverage.

Appearing in a video clip on this morning’s “Zoom In! Saturday“, Kamenashi showed his enthusiasm for the game by saying, “I was chosen as a supporting announcer for NTV’s baseball coverage! This year’s series is titled “Dramatic Game 1844.” The distance between the pitcher and the batter is 18.44 meters, and I hope to convey the level of tension and passion between them in a dramatic way.”

Akanishi Jin tops Oricon Weekly Singles Chart

It was revealed today that Akanishi Jin is #1 on the March 14th edition of the Oricon Weekly Singles Chart with his solo debut single “Eternal.”

In just the first week alone, Akanishi sold 217,000 copies of his single, marking the first time a solo artist’s first week sales exceeded 200,000 in 2 years (the last time was in 2009 when Yusuke’s “Himawari” sold 219,000 copies).

Akanishi takes the top spot from the March 7th chart’s #1, Arashi, who are his seniors from the same agency.

Reborn J-FRIENDS unit has been decided

On the 17th, as a part of the charity activities for the "The Great Northeastern Pacific Ocean Earthquake" that took place on the 11th of the same month, the major company Johnny's Jimusho annouced the formation of reborn "J-FRIENDS".

J-FRIENDS conducted charity activities at the time of the "Hanshin-Awaji Great Earthquake" that happened in 1995.

This time, the members begin with national idols Arashi, and are mainly composed of young talents NEWS, KAT-TUN and so forth.

On the 25th of May, a charity single will be on sale, and lives are scheduled to be performed in Tokyo dome, Osaka dome, and Nagoya dome at the beginning of June.

All the earnings will be donated to the stricken area.

Every Johnny’s talent to take part in relief project

Johnny’s & Associates will launch a new relief project involving every one of their talents to support the victims of the Japan earthquake, it was revealed on March 19, reports Sponichi Annex and Sports Hochi.

It has been reported the project will include a charity CD sale and events.

On March 18, a truck originally intended to transport concert equipment, instead transported everyday needs like disposable baby diapers and disinfectant to affected areas in Iwate prefecture. Johnny’s talents Hideaki Takizawa (28), Tsubasa Imai (29), and Yuma Nakayama (17) helped to load the goods onto the truck.

“Our fans have supported us, now we want to give something back to them,” Imai said.

“If we can help motivate people to do something by doing it ourselves, I think there’s a need for all of us (at Johnny’s) to get together and ask our fans to help out as well,” Takizawa said.

Following the 1995 Kobe earthquake, 13 Johnny’s talents from the Kansai region, or with connections to Kansai had formed “J-FRIENDS” (TOKIO, KinKi Kids, and V6). The special group released CDs and held performances to raise money for earthquake victims.

It has been reported that other talents had said they wanted to help out if another charity group were to be formed, and it is expected that this project will be bigger than ever. The group will even include Johnny’s senior Masahiko Kondo, Shonentai, SMAP, and Arashi.

Johnny’s talent concerts will resume in April, but only using one-tenth of normal electricity power, reports Asahi Shimbun and Daily Sports Online.

Duo Tackey & Tsubasa and NYC’s Yuma Nakayama had been helping load goods onto a truck bound for earthquake and tsunami victims in northern Japan.

even though it's a bittersweet time, i really want to celebrate KAT-TUN's 5th anniversary today! i can't believe it's been 5 whole years since the release of "Real Face"! everyone spin "Real Face" on your music players at least once! :laugh

i'll probably play all their albums later on today. :) i'm currently watching -NO MORE PAIN- Tour DVD right now since i haven't had the time to watch it when it got released, lol. (hell yeah, SPRING BREAK. :D)

I listened to Real Face & Real Face #1 yesterday in line of this

I still can't decide which version I like better though but both are still great at the end of the day xD

oh Real Face #1 is found as the very last track in the regular pressing of their debut album BEST of KAT-TUN , Lisa

Both versions have the same writer & composer ie. Suga Shikao & B'z's Tak Matsumoto , the only difference between both are the melody

Real Face #1 is somewhat a bit more mellower but it's still good !

I just feel in Real Face #1 , Akanishi's vocals were much clearer/stronger

Nakamaru Yuichi's Thoughts On KAT-TUN's 5th Anniversary

March 22, is KAT-TUN's 5th Anniversary. Oldest member Nakamaru Yuichi wrote about it in his latest J-web entry.

It has already been five years since popular boy group KAT-TUN made their debut with the hit single "Real Face". It topped the Oricon charts for three weeks straight and also holds the record for the highest weekly single debut sales with 754,234 sold copies in its first week.

Oldest member Nakamaru Yuichi thanked in his latest manual everyone for the love and support he and KAT-TUN have recieved over this years.

"When I look back on those 5 years, especially the live tours where we can directly meet everyone, they became best memories."

He also mentioned that everyone can look forward to KAT-TUN's upcoming activities and live tour, which's schedule hasn't been announced yet.

i think i prefer "Real Face #1" too. it feels more ~natural~ to me. but i understand why they chose "Real Face" to be the actual single version. it sounds more single-ly. :laugh

speaking of all this "Real Face" business, apparently Kame & Suga Shikao did their own version on the most recent Shounen Club Premium. it was really nice! AND SUGA-SAN SANG SOME LINES TOO. I WANT HIM TO SING HIS OWN VERSION AND RELEASE IT PHYSICALLY. i'm still hoping. also! i want his own version of his Arashi song, "Aozora Pedal" ;)

so KAT-TUN were supposed to have a new album in the spring! i hope we'll get an official announcement next month. it doesn't really feel like a year since NMP, though. RIGHT NOW never gets old. :cool

i downloaded the episode @ jone_records. but idk how to properly cut and upload to a streaming site. it would probably be taken down on YT anyway.

i'm waiting for an album announcement too! but i think it will probably be somewhat delayed with the earthquake. i know when they usually announce albums, they go on tour as well. i don't think many artists in general are touring nowadays.

actually Lisa , KAT-TUN usually tours every year during Summer . So that explained why they don't have any summer inspired singles in their discography ;__;

They did said that they will release a new album before their new tour starts this year but yes it will be expected that it might be delayed due to March 11th's earthquake

but we'll see , already I'm getting updates on stuff that will be released in June now D:
